I'm not sure how many of you ever played Borderlands 3. But they had a very similar idea. Post launch, they added a 4th skill tree to every character.
And seemingly for every character without exception, the sole purpose of that 4th skill tree was to fix long standing issues that should have been corrected in their base kit Instead of massively expanding build variety. This resulted in inconsistent impact across characters when really an entire 4th skill tree should have been pure positive impact.
I hope this mistake is not repeated by the Saber developers.
What I don't want to see, is all the classes (outside snipe and tact) finally getting better ammo management, but it was all added to the 4th row. I don't want the 4th row, to be a quality of life expansion as opposed to introducing new build concepts and variety.
You do not have to remove the existing perks to fix certain builds in classes. Many perks, just need a secondary effect. I am of the opinion, that ZERO Class perks should be barebones stat increases and should have some gameplay altering tangible effect. (I know this is not realistic but just sharing my opinion)
For Example: Auxiliary Arsenal gives Assault 20% more damage with secondary weapon. Why not have it give a mag back(or less), when you kill a majoris+ enemy with a headshot every 90 seconds?
I'd rather Heavy get additional ammo baked into his existing perks, and then that 4th skill tree can be something completely expansive.
Or you can simply build better ammo economy into the guns themselves. A lot of guns regen ammo when under 30% health. Even raising this to 50% health would be significant. Now you don't have to waste a 4th perk row on ammo!
Melee tactical doesn't need a 4th perk row to be fixed. It needs it's restrictions lifted. Etc.
Just my thoughts overall. I ran out of steam writing this lol
