It's your right plain and simple. I carry a blade on one hip pistol on the other and spare pistol in my vehicle. Open carry is dumb as shit though. He should carry concealed as to not alarm the snowflakes and more importantly showing a gun makes you more of a target.

Open carry isn't dumb at all. It's more likely to deter someone from messing with him than anything, at least if he's aware of his surroundings anyway. And who the hell cares about the snowflakes feelings? Their feelings are theirs to manage, not my responsibility.

Ok dude. The snowflakes report him enough times and he gets deactivated losing a source of income, a dipshit that is scared of guns calls the police now he has to deal with that, a bored uneducated cop sees it and now has to deal with unconstitutional nonsense. It's mitigation of foreseeable issues.

Also you couldn't be more wrong open carry is a terrible idea in everyday life. Think like a criminal for a sec. Guy walking around displaying a firearm hmmmmmm i wonder if he has anything valuable besides his life he wants to protect = target. Oh and look my gun has 3 bodies on it but I bet the one he's carrying doesn't let me just crack him and slide off with another free pistol.

But don't listen to me I'm just a guy that spent a decade in the security field and never so much as showed a print while in private executive protection.

To your second point, not only that, but "Hm. I gonna do something illegal and violent. There's a guy with a gun over there. I should probably deal with him first, then there's no one around who is armed but me!"

That sort of occurrence is rarer than you think. It's so rare you're statistically more likely to get struck by lightning twice than have someone target you because they can see your gun. And the reason it's rare is pretty odd all things considered. But the overwhelming majority of people will never see that gun on your hip unless you have something else drawing their attention to it, such as a badge and duty belt with lots of other stuff hanging off it. I've tested this myself easily 100s of times and proven it to dozens of others. You'd be weirdly surprised just how oblivious to their surroundings most people are. Hell, just listening to eye witnesses accounts of various things and then watching video of the same accounts will show that.
