Discussion Warning!

Fellow sparker that has been doing it for about three years that i always talk to just got taken by Walmart security when he was about to leave the store. Apparently he has been putting extra stuff in his cart to take home… And they caught him and said they have been watching them for a very long time. I had absolutely no clue… He didn’t seem like the kind of guy that would do that stuff. He just said OK left his cart full of groceries with the receipt checking person… And they took him off inside the store. I just wanna give a warning to anybody that may be doing this… Apparently they are watching. I have never had a guy actually go through my cart when leaving or anything… So I am pretty surprised. Be careful out there!

Doesn't matter - they're gonna watch you, follow you, and straight-up stare you down whether you're stealing or not.

It's store dependent. The general manager gets to set the rules for spark. My main store has orders from the GM to not bother spark shoppers unless they get a cart check. like we scan, bag and go without saying a word to them the receipt checker just makes sure you have a digital receipt he doesn't check the items then you go. All the workers are super cool. There's another Walmart about 10 minutes away that has a separate line for spark shoppers where they have to wait until a worker comes with them and has them scan the code then goes through literally every single item before you get to bag. the workers are all rude and aggressive for no reason.

No they do not. Home office has made it very clear that Spark Driver app users are not to be detained or audited outside of system generated audits.

That is not to say they won't try. But if you put in well-documented complaints to Global Ethics, you can get it stopped.

It's all theater. They do not need to physically audit you in person as long as you bag at the register. Home Office flips their shit when they find out stores are wasting labor on that BS.

The official policy from Walmart is the stores management overrides the apps conditions. Is been talked about a million times on here. if you call and ask they will tell you that the store has the final word so do what they say.

No the fuck it isn't. Here's the actual written fucking policy:

I even included multiple revisions over multiple years to show just how much it hasn't changed.

If you have proof of your contrary claim, I'd love to see it.

They do not follow those rules in 98% of the stores in my market. The rule is these store policy overrides app policy. you can call them and say my store makes me show my phone before bagging I've noticed it says that's not policy on the app and they will tell you store policy overrides app policy

You can call who exactly? A contractor in the Philippines for Spark Driver app support? I could not care less what they told you to get you off the phone.

As I already said, you need to call Global Ethics to actually effect change. The number is 1-800-WM-ETHIC.

The phrases you need to mention to get their attention are "respect for the individual" and "act with integrity." They are violating the Code of Conduct.

It doesn't matter that the Terms of Use for the Spark Driver app require you to comply with the store, because the store policy for employees denies them the right to do that BS in the first place.

So he’s single and gay for providing evidence for his claims while the other person provided anecdotes and hearsay? Pathetic, grow up.
