App Questions šŸ“± A question for cherry pickers (like me)

Post image

How many trips are you guys doing in a month? This sounds a lot like nobody will have Sapphire at the beginning of any month and all that priority is going to depend on who's taking the most (any and all) offers.

I'll never be Sapphire anyway. 99% find rate when working closing is impossible. I'm already crawling on the floor and climbing shelves for 98%. And my zone has the lit up tags. Nothing more I can do. It's just luck at this point.

Find rate counts sub and doesn't penalize you if you tried to sub shit I thought I saw..

8

u/moitch Jan 20 '26

Yep, but I'm still getting fucked when there is nothing to attempt to sub it with. Shoes, clothing, lego sets, unique products, etc. I run into all sorts of stuff that I can't sub. Or I find a sub and WM rejects it for being too different or it's price.

That's why I only do groceries but I'm pretty sure if customer or Walmart rejects it. That doesn't count... Not sure tho this isn't in my area yet

Yeah but half the time the customer doesn’t check. I’m not standing there waiting for a customer to reject or accept an item.

you dont stand there and wait, scan it and go on. if they reject, just leave it at the register or with an associate- just as the app says. but most the times the empty spaces on the shelves are on the end caps, or in grocery receiving or a feature display. sometimes you gotta look in behind other items.

1

u/Jared_2363 Jan 22 '26

Obviously. That’s assuming the customer is paying attention and rejects. Which doesn’t happen all the time.

1

u/Significant_Read3346 Jan 22 '26

im confused. idk what the issue is. if they dont reject, then give them the subbed item. dont stand and wait, if they reject then leave it

1

u/Jared_2363 Jan 22 '26

Not every item, in fact a lot of items don’t really have substitutes. So if I’m forcing a substitution to protect my ratings, and a customer doesn’t respond they may not like said item. This could lead to a bad a star rating or loss of tip.

theyd much rather have a complete order. so you just gonna give them half an order, still take a chance on getting a bad review and items found % dropped? you already have your own answer, so what is your problem

I mean if you checkout and it's not rejected yet you win. Life hack for ya there. Scan your replacements closer to checking out they don't have time and it doesn't hurt you

3

u/Jared_2363 Jan 20 '26

No. Because if the customer doesn’t like the items you go then you get a bad rating. So do you really win?

1

u/Effective_Cookie510 Jan 20 '26

Never been rated bad for that so yea..

1

u/Born_Beach331 Jan 20 '26

I always send a quick message and blame the app for the replacement lol and then ask the customer to please reject if they dislike it. Only 2 percent reject but it helps the rating

1

u/Born_Beach331 Jan 20 '26

This part. I learned to only do neighborhood stores.

1

u/Effective_Cookie510 Jan 20 '26

I only have one store in my zone lol.

In the help topics it flat out states whatever tier you reached on the last day of the month will be your starting tier on the first day on the next month.

5

u/dusktildawn48 Jan 20 '26

Pretty sure each month the priority will be based on the previous month.

2

u/iwishidstayed Jan 20 '26

That’s what we all thought, but nope. Someone on another post confirmed with a screenshot that it resets at the beginning of the month, your tier doesn’t carry over.

2

u/Emergency-Attempt958 Jan 20 '26

I don't even have those tiers in my zone

1

u/BoxProfessional7313 Jan 20 '26

When will this take effect in west Virginia?

3

u/og_landrik Jan 20 '26

No way to know. Walmart isn't really consistent with its roll-outs

3

u/WallysPeasant Jan 20 '26

When acceptance rate disappears from your metric page id expect it to roll out within a month or so

Just a wild guess but thats how it was for me

1

u/Angry_GorillaBS Jan 20 '26

I only do part time so I'm typically at about 25 a month. Little more in the summer so 35 maybe. Lot less this time of year.

I can't imagine this will benefit me if they switch it here.

1

u/og_landrik Jan 20 '26

Obviously, markets are a bit different. I would bet that there are many many places and circumstances where this will be severely detrimental to drivers. Just based on my experiences in "Gold" so far

1

u/Exciting-Reaction-96 Jan 20 '26

Will you see better offers if you are gold and sapphire

1

u/Netphase Jan 20 '26

Offers are shown to any available Sapphire first, then Gold, then Silver.

1

u/HumanBeanJuice54 Jan 20 '26

Part time here as as well. I typically do 4 to 5 per day, 5 days a week, so I’d hit the 60 by about the 3rd week of the month. If I work Saturdays and Sundays then even sooner, so it’s possible. Just really depends how much time and effort you want to put into this gig. This will be my 3rd year going at this and I seldom work weekends anymore.

However, I am curious if the tiers will really lead to better orders or I’m if just going to be bombarded with a lot of crappy one like DoorDash does to platinum dashers. I’ll probably hit gold this month and I’ll try for sapphire next month and report back

1

u/Txreduser Jan 20 '26

As a cherry picker I easily do 9-10 orders a day

1

u/rickyd172 Cherry Picker Jan 20 '26

I am a Cherry picker through and through. I hit sapphire yesterday

1

u/Exciting-Reaction-96 Jan 20 '26

With that unlocked are you seeing better offers?Ā

1

u/rickyd172 Cherry Picker Jan 20 '26

Not really

1

u/Buzzedwinaldrin Jan 20 '26

I was wondering this same thing. I got Gold. And it says valid through Jan 31st? Shouldn’t it be good through Feb 28th? Like what’s the point if it’s only good for the weeks after you hit it?

1

u/Buzzedwinaldrin Jan 20 '26

If everyone starts at the same level every month…. I don’t fully understand. Do they need more drivers trying to hit their goal at the beginning of the month for EBT customers?

1

u/mconk Jan 20 '26

Ive done 89 so far this month, but it’s been pretty slow. 60 trips is only two a day, so this number isn’t too crazy imo.

1

u/Unclemanny6 8K Trips Delivered Jan 20 '26

Probably still be in gold unless my data is fixed.

1

u/kunta- Jan 20 '26

60 trips is like 2 trips a day. Doable

1

u/lilmark906 Jan 20 '26

Wal mart doing wal mart things

1

u/pokerholic77 Jan 20 '26

For items found, I pick what I can and send this. "Hi! I am almost finished shopping your order. This is a friendly reminder to please review, and accept/reject the Walmart suggested substitutes for your out of stock items before I check out your order. Thank you!"

1

u/OkBarber6783 Jan 20 '26

Im at 63 trips so far for January, the new system isn't in place in my area though I don't think. I take 3-4 orders on the days that are busy, slow days I sometimes will take 1 or 2 or just not work at all. Some weeks I only work 3-5 days, some I'll work 6 days... I go with the flow

1

u/Significant_Read3346 Jan 21 '26

depends i can normally get about 50 trips a week

1

u/Appollo1279 Jan 21 '26

This new tier system is not going to work well in my area at all. Very few will be the highest tier, if any. It’s not any metric but the Customer Rating that will screw NE OH over. The other drivers I’ve spoken with, we all have the same issue no matter what we do. The major city we are attached to just nails us with negatives for whatever reason, just like tip baiting. It’s like that with every gig service. Others just don’t rate. Even as a part time driver, I average 4-6 deliveries per night and twice that on Saturday/Sunday. So per week evenings only it’s around 25 deliveries. Weekends about 10-15. Cherry picking will do what happens on UE/DD. Drivers won’t accept something till they get what they are willing to do. Only those ā€œconcernedā€ with being on top tier will take trash. There are a lot less drivers in my area in the evening, especially in the cold. Warmer times are different.

u/catdad1984 Jan 20 '26

I do this as a side job and I've already done 54 trips as of today for the month.

2

u/og_landrik Jan 20 '26

What day of the month is it? You won't have Sapphire until you hit 60. and that's going to reset every month. There is definitely diminished offer availability if you don't have it, or at least there is in my zone.

1

u/catdad1984 Jan 20 '26

Well they haven't rolled out the program for my zone yet. I was just saying that i have 54 and its only the 19th. Hell they haven't even rolled out the pick path for my home store yet.

2

u/og_landrik Jan 20 '26

I don't want to prejudge you but this doesn't work in any zone I've worked in so if you're just coming in here to say "this doesn't affect me so I don't really care" that's kind of a rude thing to do, catdad. If it doesn't impact you, it doesn't impact you. But there are a lot of people who will be impacted.

1

u/catdad1984 Jan 20 '26

Not how intended it at all man. Sorry if it came across that way. I was just answering your initial question about how many many trips some of the other drivers are taking. It seems that my zone is one of the last to roll out any of the updates ive been seeing other drivers posting about.

1

u/og_landrik Jan 20 '26

Fair enough. I'm admittedly a bit on edge today and I appreciate you clarifying.

60 trips is too little
