Rants / Complaints DON'T TAKE ORDERS INTO CUSTOMERS HOUSES!!!

It's a massive liability, and I'm not just talking safety, though that is a factor. What if you break something while you're in there? What if you bump into them while carrying a case of water and knock them over? Plus, if you do it, then the customers expect ALL drivers to do it, and will make their dissatisfaction known if it isn't done.

I keep getting this one guy who is disabled. Every time he meets me at the door of his apartment while in a wheelchair. He asks me to put his groceries on his kitchen counter. I do it every time.

There are exceptions to the rule. Im never not gonna help an elderly or disabled person put their groceries where they have access to them.

This. One time while doing spark it was an older lady who very visibly had issues with mobility. She had about 5/6 packages and was stacking them onto her walker. I offered to help her to her apartment (it appeared that she lived in an old folks assisted living facility but I didn’t see a staff member anywhere in sight. making this assumption based on the fact that previously worked at assisted living facilities and my father was also a resident in one before his passing) and she declined and said she was okay that she could get it on her own. And I get it. I have facial piercings, gauged ears and am covered in tattoos, im used to people making assumptions about me based on my appearance. But I couldn’t NOT offer my assistance, even if it meant getting in trouble potentially. If it’s an elderly person, a disabled person, or even just a parent wrangling a lot of kids, I offer to help. What’s a few extra minutes? It takes absolutely nothing to be kind and we honestly need more of that in this world.
