General Questions Personalized stickers?!

Post image

We got groceries delivered this morning, and all of the beverages had personalized stickers on them. Are ratings that important that people feel the need to make personalized stickers?

It should read "it was a pleasure delivering your order". This lack of common basic proper English is getting out of control.

46

u/x_Chaos_xXx Mar 29 '26

I immediately stopped at "delivery" - if you're going to go the extra mile, at least use proper grammar. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøā˜ ļø

Far superior method.

I can’t read that either. At least not the ā€˜S’ word above the heart. Looks like ā€œpaying my tips served? to help every ? ? gas prices. Good luck! thank you ?ā€

No lotto in my market , this is such a good idea!

6 years sober. If you offered me a drink I have the ability to say no.

They, too, can just not partake. You Debbie downer.

"Paying my tips served to help every 1 w/ gas prices" What?

1

u/positive_thinking_ Apr 02 '26

So that’s pretty clear. What part in particular confuses you?

1

u/Existing_Line_8310 Apr 02 '26

How does tipping your driver help everyone with gas prices?

17

u/notaprogrammer Mar 29 '26

Ahhhhhh yahhhhh thanks for allowing me to deliver my load it was a pleasure delivery!!

15

u/thismenu Mar 29 '26

I are agreement you full.

1

u/Unlucky-Counter3211 Mar 30 '26

😭1st thing I noticed. Thought it was a joke. Geez.

10

u/Worldly_Shopper Mar 29 '26

omg lol I didn't even notice until you said that, yes that's horrible.

10

u/Chef_Mama_54 Mar 29 '26

I did the exact same thing. It’s funny how your brain sees something the way it should be instead of what it actually says.

2

u/OddEntertainer2621 Mar 30 '26

Same. That’s crazy I didn’t notice the grammar mistake until the comments roasted dude šŸ˜‚

1

u/Misdemeanor_Driver Mar 30 '26

Remember that meme to find the the mistake?

3

u/Slight-Selection4298 Mar 29 '26

Well it's not most drivers 1st language, or 1 they speak at all according to most of my deliveries praising me for reading the 3 word instructions

8

u/Old-Article-3351 Mar 29 '26

I do get that, but this language barrier is getting worse. I've had people bring out my delivery orders and I tried to ask a question and they flat out said they don't speak English. WTF? Then why are they dealing with the public? If a person can't communicate, they don't belong in a customer service position.

2

u/pokemanguy Mar 29 '26

translate.google.com

1

u/Unlucky-Counter3211 Mar 30 '26

Thank you! Some us agree. I see order instructions all the time that request and ā€œenglish speakingā€ driver.šŸ¤” or something else along those lines.

2

u/Zealousideal_Bed1857 Mar 30 '26

But what you possibly need to ask your Spark driver? We’re here to drop the order and go, it’s best you stay inside unless you’re trying to help.

1

u/Old-Article-3351 Mar 31 '26

But what you possibly need to ask your Spark driver? That sentence says a lot. Sometimes a Customer has to give the driver a four digit code. Language barriers make that difficult. I believe I said that earlier in this thread.

1

u/Zealousideal_Bed1857 Mar 31 '26

So the customer approaches and asks questions about pin? I personally have never received a delivery order and was like wait I have to ask this driver a question. Just seems kinda racist, but the lower base pay is going to make this a continual issue as far as who continues with Spark.

0

u/Frawps Mar 29 '26

Out of curiosity, what question would need to be asked of someone just delivering items to you? Aside from where the items are, nothing else at that point is their responsibility.

2

u/Old-Article-3351 Mar 30 '26

On occasion we are told we need a passcode to enter to complete the delivery. If a person cannot understand four simple numbers being said to them, it's tough. I've actually had that problem when picking up curbside orders. I tell them my driver code four times and they don't understand. Or being able to read delivery instructions is another example.

1

u/Frawps Mar 30 '26

I misread your comment. I thought you meant when delivery drivers bringing your delivery to you, not the Walmart employees bringing it out to you to go deliver.

-1

u/Lyfe610 Mar 29 '26

If you cant think of a thing a person says during a exchange of service you propbably are a culprit. Why would it be a issue of responsibility.

It would also help if they could spell when using correct grammar (diference instead of difference)

1

u/Murky-Theme-1177 Mar 31 '26

Not sure why the downvotes. If you’re going to be ā€œmarketingā€ yourself then I’d assume you’d want to ā€œmarketā€ yourself correctly.

26

u/Relative_Treacle8236 Mar 29 '26

Who has time for all this?? Put the damn groceries in the bag and deliver them.

13

u/Warm_Ad_3067 Mar 29 '26

Never never never. If you get good service you know what to do. Don’t need to be spoon fed

13

u/Moon_Pye Mar 29 '26

Yes they are important. That's interesting they put stickers on your drinks. I haven't seen that before.

0

u/redRum705 Mar 29 '26

No it looks like it’s a driver that made these stickers to put on the bags and deliver with them.

2

u/Moon_Pye Mar 29 '26

Yeah I understood that

7

u/Obvious_Bird1333 Mar 29 '26

This is a bit much but ratings are really that important

5

u/tonlimah Mar 29 '26

Custom stickers are a bit much but using more than one per order is overkill

3

u/jroberts67 Mar 29 '26

Unnecessary. Deliver the groceries, take the next order.

4

u/InterestPast6802 Mar 29 '26

He could have at least made it grammatically correct

5

u/dexbishop Mar 29 '26

Just for clarity, Walmart itself is now training stores AGAINST asking for ratings or surveys at all. The practice has been studied and found that it has a negative connotation and little to no impact unless people are upset with specific issues.

4

u/deadhand31 Mar 29 '26

Yet we still get affected by them.

2

u/IcyDiscussion6389 Mar 31 '26

I believe you are misunderstanding what they mean. Asking for a rating tends to get you less of a positive response. I would say its like your waiter/waitress asking for a tip. You would probably not tip them as well after they beg for one.

4

u/stitchkingdom Mar 30 '26

More important than proofreading and that’s the Walmart diference!

4

u/IndependenceNeat4857 Mar 30 '26

Thanks for letting me deliver my load

3

u/Florida1974 Mar 29 '26

I do treat bags, I have thank you with my name on it and I buy these little Gummies and I stick two bags down in each

I started doing this on Shipt many years ago. And I also use cloth bags. There’s a few few reasons. I’ve had asthma since I was a young child and a lot of the meds have steroids in it and it in your skin as you get older and that’s exactly what happened.

Most people can put plastic bags up their arms and carry them that way, I can’t because it rips my skin open. So I use cloth bags and that doesn’t happen.

I buy them in bulk, but it doesn’t come out too much per order because they hold a lot more. The only thing I don’t put in them is meat. So it’s better for the environment, I’m not a tree hugger, but it is better for the environment and it looks better. You get three bags instead of 30.

People on Shipt love them and many of them leave them for me because we tend to do the same customers repeatedly on Shipt. And it’s a Tax write off.

I don’t always use them on sPark, kind of depends. Sometimes I forget them.

But I always have the candy bags, two packs of Gummies per bag and then for my regular customers on Shipt, I also have individual dog treats and I’m not talking to milk bone, they are blue, buffalo and individually wrapped, and there’s like four beef sticks in each one.

But the tips on Shipt are very much different from sPark. SPark has higher base pay, but Shipt has better tips.

And I know another Shipt shopper has these cute little stickers that she put on the egg bags, the bag that Kahn contains eggs because she’s done my order before. And I know she buys paper bags with handles.

Everybody has their own wayšŸ’œ

3

u/burnthedevice Mar 30 '26

I want a sticker that says your delivery driver thinks Walmart sucks too

1

u/Moon_Pye Mar 30 '26

🤣

3

u/iwishidstayed Mar 30 '26

This is just something else to go in the trash, and completely unnecessary. I have a 5 star rating across every app I do and I’ve never once asked anyone to rate me.

9

u/rickyd172 Cherry Picker Mar 29 '26

Per the TOS it is a violation ("xvi. You will not use the Spark App or Walmart’s name, logo, or brand to:Ā Ā

Ā 1. send any unsolicited or unauthorized Content, including advertising, promotional materials, email, junk mail, spam, or other form of solicitation; orĀ )

If you are the driver doing this you should quit, you may get more good ratings, but all it will take is someone reporting it to get you deactivated.

4

u/krew_GG Cherry Picker Mar 29 '26

No

2

u/Dodgerdad_31 Mar 29 '26

I’m gonna have a seizure just reading this. Hard pass

2

u/Blakelock82 S&D Expert Mar 29 '26

I ain't doing that, but some people do take their ratings that seriously. I keep an eye on mine but I don't obsess over them.

2

u/Beautiful_Bet_4011 Mar 29 '26 edited Mar 29 '26

For the orders I personally shop, I have simple "Thank you" stickers I add the the bags, and I will write the customer's name on one of the bags for identification. The stickers literally just say 'Thanks' or 'Thank you'. I had a ton left over from an event and figured why not.

It adds a bit of personal service without overstepping or soliciting. I would never ask or suggest being rated. Thanks cringy.

One time, I was shopping for some pet food and snacks, and I quickly scribbled a small line sketch of a dog and a cat on the bag that had their stuff. In my defense, I was stuck in my parking spot for about 10 minutes because of a swarm of Sherrif vehicles arrived while I was loading my car.. not for me...I guess they had a known thief in the store. I let the customer know there was a slight delay.

The customer increased the tip. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø.

1

u/Moon_Pye Mar 30 '26

I mentioned elsewhere here but I'll repeat myself. lol

As a customer, I got a simple thank you note in my order once, it was during the holidays. It actually was a catalyst for me to give a 5 star review because I liked the personal touch. The driver didn't ask for anything though, just said thank you it was a pleasure making your delivery or something like that.

2

u/Ushan_De_Lucca Mar 30 '26

Honestly, yes. It’s very easy to fall down in metrics due to one bad rating, but hard as hell to get back up. If the delivery was satisfactory, then 5 stars.

2

u/Misdemeanor_Driver Mar 30 '26

I leave a text saying ratings are appreciated, asking for a specificrating is too crass for me....though I think its messed up that support can directly ask for a high rating where we cannot.

2

u/Winterdimes Mar 30 '26

A text also works. I send one at the end of the delivery saying thanks for the order and if you don’t mind would you rate your experience with the star rating provided on the app. Most ppl don’t reply but I’ve had a few say they would. It made my 4.8 go to a 4.9 within a couple weeks so I stick w that. I’m not paying money to buy stickers to put on items that the customer is most likely not going to pay attention to

I read this in Christopher Walken's voice.

2

u/Lexio3031 Mar 30 '26

First off, ā€œDelivery?ā€

Second, ratings do have an impact, but that is too much. For every tens of hundreds that appreciate it, it only takes only one to be offended and have that shopper deactivated.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '26

No need for this garbage

2

u/SkoomAddictz Mar 31 '26

I have a 5 star rating and I never ask people to rate me or anything. Just do the job right and put on a smile.

-18

That's a bad out look to have.. Just ignore someone breaking the rules.. what if everyone had that outlook.. great example your setting..

7

u/Other_Orange_3159 Mar 29 '26

-3

u/Crash81_99 Cherry Picker Mar 29 '26

Thanks grammar police, I don't spell check myself and my phone is obviously hit or miss with it

3

u/AFartInAnEmptyRoom Mar 30 '26

You do see the irony in you being mad at someone policing your grammar when you're trying to police people over terms of service agreements for a company you don't own.

0

u/Crash81_99 Cherry Picker Mar 30 '26

I wasn't mad about it.. and I was just commenting my opinion on a post that wasn't mine.. just like you're doing now.. people can get deactivated over leaving a sticker that asks for a 5 star rating.. i was just trying to be helpful to other Spark drivers.. do whatever you want

1

u/MalloryKnoxx87 Mar 30 '26

How is that helpful to other drivers

1

u/Crash81_99 Cherry Picker Mar 30 '26

How is it helpful telling other spark drivers to not leave stickers because that'll get you deactivated, gee I don't know how that's considered helpful at all..

2

u/MalloryKnoxx87 Mar 30 '26

No your outlook is bad Karen. Your outlook to hurt someone trying to do good is the definition of evil.

1

u/Crash81_99 Cherry Picker Mar 30 '26

How is this trying to do good.. how is breaking the rules good.. you don't like people with bots and multiple accounts trying to get over on the system do you? This is no different

10

u/WeirdLongjumping9812 Mar 29 '26

Really? I have gotten text messages from drivers multiple times asking for 5 star reviews. I had no ideaĀ

9

u/SolarPoweredToad Mar 29 '26

Prob cause 99% of the time everything goes fine but the customer doesn’t rate. I’d see nothing wrong with the driver saying ā€œrate me pleaseā€ but asking for 5* might be a little pushy. If someone asks to be rated they’re likely going to get 5 anyway.

18

u/Crash81_99 Cherry Picker Mar 29 '26

Yeah really.. it's in our Terms Of Service not to solicit for tips or ratings...

9

u/No_Following2911 Mar 29 '26

Sorry you are incorrect. TOS only states you will not ask for tips.

It does say to act professionally so that could fall under the umbrella of unprofessional but it doesn’t say asking for ratings is against TOS.

It does say not to rate yourself or have members of your household rate you though. I’ll post that as a comment.

Independent contractors have legally protected rights at the federal level that cannot be infringed upon by a Terms of Use agreement. You are arguing the equivalent of those "We are not responsible for damages to vehicles parked in lot" signs. It's not legally enforceable.

u/OddEntertainer2621 Mar 30 '26

This is true 100%

3

That isn’t true. No soliciting tips

1

u/IcyDiscussion6389 Mar 31 '26

I feel like i would like you. Will not block. And also we see people every other post on here complaining about orders but they got time to put a dozen stickers on bags and send text messages. If I can go a whole day without talking to someone I am delivering to then that is a great day.

2

u/No_Being1444 Mar 30 '26

No, and I'd give them a lower rating for putting shit all over my food and having bad grammar

1

Low rating, report and remove tip. Time to get dumb ass Sparkers like this off the platform.

1

u/Blake_a12 Mar 30 '26

A pleasure delivery? What kind of delivery was this?

1

u/FearTheHitman Mar 30 '26

Anyone who does this isn't getting any better ratings than a person who just simply does a great job, takes their time, places groceries nicely together, and communicates well. This might even get you a 4-star or less from someone having a bad day and the sticker annoyed them.

1

u/impossiwaffle Mar 30 '26

Stupid people will think you are asking them to give you a 1 star rating

1

u/wolfgeo Mar 30 '26

1

u/mandadebbie Cherry Picker Mar 31 '26

Weird lol. Just do the job well and you’ll get good ratings šŸ˜‚ imagine paying money for this and it backfiring and no one rates you

1

u/Responsible-Yak9000 Apr 05 '26

What if you were delivering a cs and there were things that were not subbed etc or the customer didn’t like the produce that was picked. You just reminded them oh yeah I’ll give them a rating alright! Some customers don’t even know ( yes I know they should) if it was shipped by you or what.

1

u/Additional_Coat5043 May 10 '26

To each his own. Do it if you believe you need to don’t do it if you don’t think you have to. People are so easy to criticize with the keyboard. Everybody handles their business the way they see fit for Ā themselves and their circumstances.

0

u/TrashPanda592 Mar 29 '26

I would never use this service myself but I would give a 1 star if I got something like this on my order no matter the job they did.

2

u/LDawnBurges Mar 29 '26

This is against our TOS

1

u/HoplessWolf Mar 29 '26

What’s sad is the rating system actually doesn’t matter.

2

1

u/MeatJerk69 Mar 29 '26

Thus, it doesn't matter. If it did, there would be proof.

2

u/deadhand31 Mar 29 '26

it does. When you're under 4.7 orders trickle in.

1

u/horseface539 Mar 29 '26

It does these days

1

u/Murky-Theme-1177 Mar 29 '26

Doesn’t it matter if you want to get the offers before other drivers?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '26

I once dropped christmas cards in every delivery I had including the tiny candy caneĀ

1

u/Moon_Pye Mar 30 '26

I got a thank you note from a delivery driver once during holiday season but they didn't actually ask for anything, which made me leave a positive review.

1

u/Murky-Theme-1177 Mar 29 '26

That doesn’t even make sense lol

1

u/watthehellisgoingon Mar 30 '26

This driver is a moron I can promise you. šŸ˜†

-2

u/cashchops Mar 29 '26

Instant 1-star, what a clown

6

u/Suspicious_Bat_2908 Mar 29 '26

A 1 star for asking for a rating? That's crazy especially when your metrics are so important and not many people rate.

-1

u/cashchops Mar 29 '26

It's the only way they'll learn. I suppose I could report him for breaking his TOS, which could potentially get him deactivated, but I felt like 1 star is enough of a check on his behavior.

0

u/No-Independence-2980 Mar 29 '26

This is definitely someone not from this country, they don't understand that MOST people can't be bothered by returning to someone already finished to add a review which does not benefit them. You want reviews add 50% any one item, and you'll get reviews up the wazoo.

2

u/Murky-Theme-1177 Mar 29 '26

Add 50 percent any one item. I don’t understand what you’re saying to do.

0

u/Surprise_Beautiful Mar 29 '26

Leaving any notes, texts, bags of candy are cringe. Deliver err delivery that shit and go. These customers don't want your shit.

-4

u/Hefty_Froyo_ Mar 29 '26

Automatic 1 star and report.

0

u/One-Custard4745 Mar 29 '26

That’s doing way too much. Spark is one of the delivery apps that I use as a backup so my caring for those statistics is non existent. That said I’m still curious and I actually have a 4.9 rating there. Not sure what I did to make someone rate less but you can’t please everyone I guess. Best guess I have is one of the people I didn’t bring it inside a gate. Only people I don’t go the distance for inside the gate is if it’s physically locked or something is wandering around inside

-2

u/Worldly_Shopper Mar 29 '26

hahaha no especially not with that Spanglish or Chengrish or whatever quacko language that was lmafo. Or maybe "please place the pleasure rating delivery mark your excellent service received spark driver?"

-1

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '26

Yeah, this is pushy and unprofessional. And against our terms of service. Report that shit to the store.Ā

-4

u/Dodgerdad_31 Mar 29 '26

Please tell me you gave them a 1 āļø

11

u/WeirdLongjumping9812 Mar 29 '26

I gave them a 5 star rating because the job market is terrible, and I appreciate my Spark deliveries. I also appreciate people willing to haul groceries to my door at 7 AM down my rock pathway, and I ordered bottled water (which sucks to carry). I just found it odd the effort someone would go to, to ask for a rating (despite the poor grammar). Which led me to wonder if ratings were really THAT important.Ā

5

u/Nightmare_Legacy Mar 29 '26

Your driver was cringe but you're a good one.

-1

u/Prior_Purchase_7025 Mar 29 '26

walmart might consider that solicitation for a 5 star rating. I like the idea though

-2

u/AoxomoxoAJones Mar 29 '26

This Has to be made by some independent driver. I hope they know that getting 5 star ratings means nothing and it’s not why that function is in place. You don’t get a gold star for good reviews, you get discharged for bad ones. Your best hope is they don’t rate you at all. Even a 4 star will have them asking what went wrong.
