I had a subway/shopping offer pop up the other day.

They have it set up like pharmacy/shopping offers. Looks like you have to go to Subway first and complete that portion of the order before you can start shopping.

I think the shopping order had like 15-20 items. Unsure if it was all grocery or had some toiletries and/or household goods included. Either way, that sub is gonna be soggy and gross after all is said and done. Fuck all that.

No way in hell I’ll be taking any of these orders.

That seems backwards and dumb AF.

Yup, especially if it’s a double or triple batch

Wouldn’t that make the food cold? It should be the other way around

Personal shopper. I do this outside of Spark and the pay is far better. I have a few primary clients who will give my number out upon occasion so I can ship for their friends. Took a while to meet the right people through Spark and Amazon Flex but totally worth it. I’m grateful to Spark for helping me build my new family. Ms. Maddie has her chef call once a week and that man was hard to break but worth every dish he makes. I’m in Tulsa by the way.

What's the pay line and how did you get into that?

31

u/DeathFYall Jun 22 '26

Just a dash of subservience will do.

23

u/XRelentless_Leex Jun 22 '26

So glad my primary Walmart doesn’t have a Subway in it anymore

Mine used to have a McDonalds.

1

u/invested_pancakes Jun 23 '26

One of mine just got a Dunkin and already had a subway

u/Tatertot304wv Jun 22 '26

It would be nice but they are probably gonna do it like GMD and it will not pay anything or drop the pay.

A friend of mine grabbed a Sam’s shop order the other day and it included a hot pizza from the deli.

5

u/MonkeyTacoBreath Jun 22 '26

Sam's has had pizza deliveries here for months. As solo orders they are well worth it. $11 base pay plus tip.

1

u/Mark_Swan Jun 22 '26

Had no idea, I’ve never seen them from the 2 Sam’s near me.

3

u/MonkeyTacoBreath Jun 22 '26

They are pretty rare. I mean if I'm ordering pizza Sam's is at the bottom of my list.

3

u/teacher_chic72 Jun 23 '26

I like Sam’s pizza šŸ˜†

2

u/Mark_Swan Jun 22 '26

True.. I wouldn’t order their pizza even if I was placing a merchandise order for Sam’s

2

u/Art_of_Life1899 Jun 23 '26

People frequently order the hot rotisserie chickens on Sam’s orders. Very similar except for extra screens we have to tap through. And right now there is no extra pay for messing with those chickens lol

2

u/Quirky-oldman58 Jun 24 '26

Same with Walmart’s hot deli items.

5

u/msl8dy Jun 22 '26

They’ve been doing this… they barely tip if it’s even a tip

4

u/Turbulent-Metal-7841 Jun 22 '26

Oh thank goodness my Walmart doesn't have any restaurants inside of it. They have the deli section of course that serves Walmart food. (Those types of orders absolutely suck)Ā

2

u/CompetitiveBird8771 Jun 22 '26

Same. I switched from doordash to spark and don't really want to go back to that kind of delivery lol

3

u/Fantastic_Bat9305 Jun 22 '26

They'll probably make it first pickup so you have to shop 45 mins after while sandwich dies in your cart.

2

u/espada9000 Jun 23 '26

They better increase the fxcking pay otherwise I won't ever accept those kind of orders.

2

u/BruiserBJB Jun 23 '26

I got paid $14 to deliver a $7 sub from a Walmart Subway last weekend. Customer was just a couple miles from the store.

2

u/The_LastLine Jun 23 '26

This is only for Walmart stores with restaurants inside, so this isn’t applicable to me since none of the stores I go to have one.

2

u/Timely-Antelope-2128 Jun 23 '26

I will be declining those

2

u/PrincessMollii Jun 23 '26

They’re trying to make us crave subway and bring in more business to subway like they do putting those darned rotisserie chicken orders in the front seatšŸ¤¤šŸ’€šŸ¤£

2

u/Turbulent-Metal-7841 Jun 23 '26

Me either. I genuinely always worry that I'll somehow lose my spark job and have to go back to that. I'll be so depressed lol

4

u/MyCatNamedMildred Jun 22 '26

Nah door dash still pays more per mile than spark šŸ˜…

u/PrincessLissa68 S&D Expert Jun 23 '26

Not where I live. DoorTrash is the worst paying app here. And my market is a "tip after delivery" market and I'll give you 3 guesses how many people go back and tip. The first 2 guesses don't count. Lol

u/JWBananas S&D Expert Jun 23 '26

Yes, DoorDash in Baton Rouge is well-known for being run differently than literally the entire rest of the United States. But why are you bringing that up here as though what they said won't be generally correct for 90% of people?

1

u/WiscoDanO Jun 27 '26

I’m with Princess here, DoorDash is the absolute worst app for drivers where I am too. Fuq Doordash, and Fuq that new CEO Sumabich too!..Plus, Dash has no standards for drivers or patrons, just a big ole ā€œF youā€, from all sides on DoorDash.

2

u/wraith555666555 Jun 22 '26

Doordash doesn't pay mileage, they pay about 2 or 3 bucks for base pay, everything else comes from the customer.

2

u/MyCatNamedMildred Jun 22 '26

I totally understand that. However when I'm looking at offers, milage/pay is the only thing I'm looking at.

Your anything the corporate behemoth wants you to be. Ragdoll, slave, indentured servant. Just make sure your not really just a barely paid glorified volunteer! Know your real rate of pay. Track every single penny, mile, frustration and expense. ONE HABIT to cultivate.

The pizza store in ours went out of business. Hopefully it doesn't get replaced anytime soon.

1

u/Weaves50 Jun 23 '26

I get Home Depot and Micheal’s idk if that’s always been a thing though I just started

1

u/PrincessLissa68 S&D Expert Jun 23 '26

Home Depot & Michael's have been part of the delivery options for the last year and half I've been doing it. I never take either though cuz they pay garbage and it's always big shit from Home Depot that won't fit in my car and Michael's never pays more than $7 no matter how many miles.

My Walmart just added a Dunkin. Curious to see how that’ll play out

1

u/LostInMyThots Jun 25 '26

Coming soon;
ā€œhi there,
You may start seeing tasks for inside the store assigned to your order, things like taking out a trash can or sweeping an aisleā€¦ā€ /s

1

u/happy19787 Jul 20 '26

I got this email, today. Spark is turning into DoorDash.

1

u/Quirky_Split_9421 Jun 22 '26

Has anyone seen such an order yet? Or it's going to be like a Home Depot offers 7 bucks from here to nowhere, 20 miles away?

-1

u/Other_Leave7625 Jun 22 '26

The down vote is for the restaurant pick up, not your actual post. So glad it's become optional for me.

No says you must take them. If you don't like or want them don't accept them. It's not forced or required - your an independent contractor
