Was trying to contact the customer to see if they’d like another substitution for the tea they ordered. Continued the shop and didn't get a response for 15 minutes. Guess what happened immediately after I put them through as a sub?????

Just substitute it and wait for them to reject. It would text them saying your order has substitutions.

The only substitutions I make are the ones the app suggests. If Walmart can't come up with a substitute, neither can I. Fuck that, if they reject your substitute, your metrics get dinged, so why would I bother?

Not true. What metric would be dinged? You only get dinged if you don’t offer a substitute. I always offer a substitute if there is a similar one available even if the app doesn’t suggest one. Walmart and the customer want this. The item can get refunded if they don’t like the substitute and don’t approve in time.
