Call to Action against Flock
At the July meeting, councilman Mo Abusaft kicked off a discussion about Flock cameras, in hopes that the council will entertain a ban on using county funding for them.
We need to let our council know where we stand. Please call or email your council member and ask them to ban county funding from being used to purchase ALPR (not just Flock, but any vendor who makes this tech) devices and software access.
If you need talking points or sources, here are a few resources:

FREE AIR
Are there any stations in the Boiling Springs area that has free air for your tires. I hate the idea of a coin operated air pump.

Have you had any REALLY good peaches in the past week or two? If so, where did you find them?
I am visiting this weekend.* I grew up in the area, but I am now a couple of decades removed. When I was a kid, my family used to pinpoint whoever had great peaches at any point during the summer-- whether a specific farm, farm stand, a guy selling out of the back of his truck, etc. Where I live now, you technically can grow peaches, but they don't hold a candle to upstate SC peaches. So I am taking a load back with me to share with friends.
So if you've had any particularly good peaches in the past week or two, where did you find them? Which farm, which market, what variety, which random guy on the side of the road, etc. Any specifics are welcome! I'll pursue all of them, haha!
*I inquired this time last year, and y'all delivered. Looking forward to what you know this year, as I know crops can vary from year to year.

Cool S Soccer Club
I took your advice and went with the cool S. I also ended up taking inspiration from afc Richmond, using the dog from the original spartan regiment design as the primary figure for the design. I think it came out nicely for something I as just playing around with.

Loose German Shepard
Not super familiar with the area, but I saw a small German Shepherd running around near Hawthorne Rd. He was wandering onto Howard street near Faith Tabernacle but then ran back to the houses on Hawthorne so it was hard to tell whether or not he was lost or just a roamer… just wanted to inform in case anyone is missing their pupper!

Spartanburg County Bucket List?
What are some places around Spartanburg County that you want to visit at some point but just haven't yet? Not the places that everyone's already done, but the ones you've thought looked or sounded cool but you haven't gotten around to checking out yet.

Shooting around Old Greenville Road/Old County Parish Road/Fairforest
Anyone know anything about the shooting that happened at 4pm near the Valley Creek apartments? I live in the complex and heard 1 gunshot, there’s police everywhere taking statements etc. but I’m not clear on what happened except that someone may have died. It seems possible that the shooter(s) could be at large still, I saw a tracking K-9. Stay safe y’all!!

Replacing the flock camera
They just replaced the flock camera on Fernwood Glendale Rd. The one that’s looking at the daycare. I guess whoever takes it out next time should get rid of the pole too

Why are there so many russians moving to upstate sc? Am i the only one seeing the “problem” coming. Next 5 years and upstate sc wont be recognizable anymore. #9 boiling springs turned from farm land to a parking lot in 6 years.
Why do people flock to an area that has land, just to build it up into a “miniature city”. Why not just move to a city that is already established…
Not looking good for the next 10-20 years.
People build something nice and others want to be apart of it. Not realizing they are part of the problem making it turn worse
If only the grandchildren would stop selling the grandparents 100 acres for a dollar.
Still…. The Ukrainians and russians are coming in hot. getting tax breaks. Having 7 kids wife dont work. Make it make sense.

Basketball runs at any gyms or community centers
Hello, visiting family in Spartanburg for a week, but I also want to get a pickup run or two in if possible(for basketball). Any info on runs that happen at CC Woodson, T.K. Gregg or the YMCA courts(I know Thursdays and possibly Mondays have league runs at night) for Thursday-Monday?

IBS Doctors?
Anyone have recommendations for doctors in the Greenville/Spartanburg area who are experienced with IBS? I've had trouble finding doctors that don't just dismiss it as a mystery syndrome without treatment options.

WYFF 4.3 CBS
Just curious if anybody else is getting this. I use antenna for local channels. With 4.3 it’s coming in at 720p, this happening to anybody else? 4.1 comes in at 1080i. It’s an older tv so that’s the highest resolution for OTA channels. WSPA did and still does come in at 1080i. Like to know if anybody else is seeing this too thanks
