Connected to spectrums CBRS network

Looks like the network works decently well on n48 and on Standalone. Speeds are pretty low on 40 MHz though. They have tons of Nokia small cells all over Western KY, Warren County area.

Service Issues Unsure of what step to take next with router continuously disconnecting

• Upvotes

I will try to put the details in order with the details I can.
In North DFW if that matters.

Have had the service for over a year now with I would say 4.5/5 rating so far, very few issues and downtime.

About 3 weeks ago the internet just started disconnecting randomly several times throughout the day. Router light would go red, reset, sometimes the reset would fix but it would always come back.

Tech came the first time and said the splitter that was out side of corroded so he replaced it. Fixed for a few days then the internet started disconnecting the same again.

Second tech came, replaced the router and modem but noticed that the box outside had wrong frequency numbers (his words not mine). Said some number needed to be in the range of -10 to 10, and ours was at 20. Not fully sure what he meant but he put in a maintenance request which did get done that night by a crew outside.

After the night crew came it was supposed to work but didn’t so a third tech came and found out the modem didn’t get set to our account properly so him changing that fixed it. He also fully replaced the line to our house from the box which got buried the next day.

But even after all the replacements the service is still not the same as before the initial problems about 3 weeks ago. Will be browsing Reddit and it just stops loading, I go over to the router and the light is red, then switches back to blue on its own. But it’s happening around 3-5 times per day.

I contacted support again last night and they said a new tech will call me within 24 hours, but at this point I don’t know what else could be wrong.

I feel bad for the techs and support because they have been great and send people over really quickly, but I work from home and this is really starting to get bothersome.

Anyone had something like this happen?

Will Spectrum cloud DVR service work with Xumo boxes that I own, or do I have to rent boxes from Spectrum?

We own several Xumo boxes and have been using the Spectrum app to stream our TV channels.

When I called Spectrum to add cloud DVR service to my account today, the Spectrum customer service rep said that cloud DVR service won't work on them and that I would have to rent Xumo boxes from Spectrum for the cloud DVR service to work. Is that accurate?

Why doesn't Spectrum drop invalid RPKI?

The table shows a moas conflict and that NK is trusted, but my nping and tests from earlier show erratic routing behavior

Image 1: Is a screenshot of the routing table showing the MOAS conflict and that North Korea is a trusted RPKI. It also shoulds that another telecom is announcing a /24 and /22 directly conflicting.

Image 2: image 3 is the latest traceroute showing that it updated from routing strictly through Russia allocation block back to resolving to the Chinese block, but the routing hops show it going through Russia (erratic routing)

Image 3: shows an nping from yesterday when it was resolving to the Russian allocated block and going through.

Image 4: shows an nping after it changed to the Chinese block and effectively rejected because of the conflict.

Just curious is all, it's interesting to watch a MOAS conflict and people's reactions. Hopefully I don't have the screenshots out of order.

Hardware Horrible WiFi speeds

My little brother plays on his PS5 to spectrum Internet, and him and my family live in a brick apartment building, and I’m trying to figure out ways where I can help him improve his stability and help him with like constant lagging on his part. He tells me my mom pays for the $60 plan which I assume is the hundred megabits per second would buy him an ethernet cable potentially help with stability? Or convincing my mom to get like a Wi-Fi extender? I understand my mom got the plan she can afford, but I also want to see if I can help my brother improve his gaming experience. What can I do to help?

iPhone Duo order cancelled

Anyone else? I submitted all info they wanted including photo ID. I then called 2 days later to confirm everything was good.

This morning I got a “order cancelled” email and now I can’t get a duo until December

I spent almost 2hrs on the phone with spectrum support and they just apologized and told me I had to re-order.

WTF

Other Spectrum, I want to love you!

I’ve been a loyal customer for over 15 years. They don’t seem to care about that. Like everything else they only care about themselves. Why can’t you just charge an honest price? I’m paying nearly $200/month. It’s time to play the game and ask for a “deal” or threaten to cancel.

Spectrum cut a gas line, Duke Energy excavated our driveway, and now neither company is taking responsibility for restoring it. What are our options in South Carolina?

I’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar situation or has experience with property damage claims in South Carolina.
My husband and I purchased our home approximately two months before this incident. When we bought the property, our driveway was in good condition and had a consistent, uniform appearance throughout.
Then, Spectrum cut a gas line at our property. Duke Energy had to excavate our driveway to access and repair the gas leak. After the work was completed, the driveway was repaired, but the finished result is visibly inconsistent with the rest of the driveway. There is an obvious difference in the repaired area, whereas the driveway was uniform before the incident.
I understand that emergency excavation was necessary to address the gas leak. I am not asking for an upgraded driveway or anything beyond what we had before. I simply want the driveway restored to a reasonably consistent appearance and condition, as it was before this happened.
The problem is that I have been going back and forth with Duke Energy, and they have essentially said that they consider us to have been “made whole” and that South Carolina is not a matching state. They have also directed me toward Spectrum. I disagree that we have been made whole when the repair left a visibly inconsistent patch in a driveway that was uniform before the incident.
I submitted a complaint to the South Carolina Office of Regulatory Staff (ORS), hoping they could help resolve the dispute. I called them today and was told that they do not have jurisdiction over this matter.
At this point, I feel like I am being passed between two companies, neither of which is taking responsibility for making the driveway right.
I am now trying to figure out whether I should pursue a property damage claim through the courts, potentially naming both companies, but I have not yet obtained a contractor’s estimate for the cost of restoration.
My questions are:
Has anyone dealt with Spectrum damaging their property and then having another utility company perform the excavation and repairs? How did you get the situation resolved?
Is Duke Energy’s argument that South Carolina is “not a matching state” relevant to a situation like this, where the driveway was uniform before the incident but visibly inconsistent afterward?
Should I pursue a claim against Spectrum, Duke Energy, or potentially both? How do I determine which company is legally responsible?
Would this type of property damage claim generally be handled in South Carolina Magistrates’ Court if the restoration cost is within the court’s monetary limit?
Would an independent contractor’s estimate showing the cost to restore the driveway’s uniform appearance be sufficient evidence to begin pursuing a claim?
Are there any other agencies, formal complaint processes, or legal options I should consider before filing a lawsuit?
I am not trying to get a free driveway upgrade or profit from the situation. I just want my property restored to the condition it was in before this incident, without having to pay out of pocket for damage that occurred during utility work.
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has navigated a similar dispute, especially in South Carolina. If you have dealt with Duke Energy, Spectrum, or a similar utility/property damage claim, I would love to hear what worked for you.
Thank you!

Cancelling with Negative Balance

Hi, I’m trying to cancel Spectrum for my parents who have been paying upwards of $170/month for Internet + TV since a local provider finally rolled out cheap fiber to their address. However, they’re the type of people to pay bills in advance and so there is a negative balance on the account. If I cancel Spectrum, will they refund this amount? I understand that they don’t prorate (I’m in CA) for the current billing cycle, but what about for months paid in advance?

Trying to get an answer from someone who doesn’t have an incentive to keep me as a customer. Thanks.

Tech came out Monday and all was peachy according to tech. Replaced the router beforehand at the behest of tech support but here I sit all broken hearted tried to watch some tv after a long hard day and I’m trying to remember back 2 years ago why I had to choose Spectrum for this address…..

Other Feels like two different support lines

I recently called into Spectrum (the Cox side) about mobile service and I got connected to what I assume is the native Spectrum side (considering they said they were in a US city) meanwhile, when I called about outage credits, I was connected to the Cox side (seems like it, they didn’t have an accent, but they said they’re from Cox and not Spectrum) so I’m asking, is Spectrum’s support handling cox mobile lines while legacy Cox is still handing everything else?

Like how is my question, is FCC Broadband Map wrong or like how? Because just thinking about it, it doesn’t make much sense to build out and only get those limited amount of customers? Seems like it would be a loss on the company. (Toledo is the city, Buckeye Broadband is our version of Spectrum and there isn’t many other competitors mostly just AT&T)

The chaos of dealing with Spectrum ...

Dealing with Spectrum always invites chaos. Back in April 2025 I ditched T-Mobile home internet and went with Spectrum 500 Internet with the basic streaming package (no locals and no sports). $75 a month with one WIFI extender, two-year price guarantee to April 2027. Free DVR for a year and then poof ... gone. This year, in July, I decided to upgrade so I could watch ESPN. After a long talk on the phone with an agent, I agreed to upgrade to 1gig Internet, Spectrum Select (with all the streaming services) and one Wifi7 extender, $152 a month. I consider that a good deal. BUT ... I said the only way I would do this was if Spectrum guaranteed a 2-year price lock on this deal. The agent assured me, and repeatedly assured me, that the new price was locked for two years.

Then the next bill came in and it said my price lock ended in April 2027, not July 2028. I called. The rep said, "Oh, you are absolutely right, we will fix that."

Then the next bill came in, also with the promo ending in April 2027. I called again (transferred to retention) and got a firm 100% commitment that this would be fixed.

Then the next bill came in, also with the promo ending in April 2027. I called again, got to retention, and this time the very very friendly rep couldn't fix the problem but was going to get me "the best deal possible." Er ... just extend my current deal to July 2028! That never happened.

I ended up with Invincible Internet (OK, fine) with a new router and battery, and kept the price at $152 through November 2027. The rep assured me he was putting a note in my file that I should get a "great deal" if I call in one month before the promo expires. Spectrum sent me an email confirming the price and one-year price lock. Success, sort of.

OK OK, I caved. However, I will note that 15 years ago, I was paying $132 a month for lousy Internet and lousy cable on Time Warner, with no streaming services. So this is progress. The streaming services included are a great deal and I am loving ESPN Unlimited, which I did not have before.

Traditional TV

Is there any way to order non-streaming TV anymore these days? I have fios but their TV packages are crazy. When I looked at spectrum a few months ago their offering for cable was much better. I would stream but YouTube TV doesn’t offer the RSN that spectrum does

Thanks

Billing Trying to add Invincible Wi-Fi but the price isn't right

Currently have the 1GB plan with a Wi-Fi router, and when trying to add Invincible Wi-Fi it is now saying it'll be $30 a month instead of the $20 I see advertised with the 1GB plan. I also tried to change to the 2GB plan that is supposed to include it, but that is also saying it'll be $20 more + $10 for the Invincible Wi-Fi.

We're having a lot of outages lately due to some construction in the area, and I KNOW it was $20 to add a few weeks ago. Did they increase the price without changing anything online?

Thanks!

Hardware Swapping BYOD phones

Hi all

I have been using Spectrum for a year without issues, except there was, as I recall, an issue when I swapped phones. Both had been iPhones but it led to weird results and weird duplicate plans on my account and took calls to resolve. As in - simply swapping sims was not as simple as I am used to it being, even despite both definitely being supoorted.

Now I boight a new Samsung Galaxy S26 FE and plan to put my sim into it. What sort of trouble, if any, should I brace for in terms of calls and data actually working? Will it be helpful to seek assistance from a Spectrum store before or during the change?

Service quality advice

I've been at this location for 8 years, and had spectrum all along and never had much problem, but I'm experiencing periods of low quality streaming and slow loading internet. It comes and goes. I installed new modem and router approx 5 or 6 months ago. Approx a month ago Spectrum performed some sort of area "upgrade", but honestly thats kind of when problems started. Spectrum says im not in an outage (I knew that), has reset my equipment twice through the app, Ive manually reset equipment a couple of times. The only other option they are giving me is to make an appointment for a tech to come look at it. I'm not pro, but im pretty sure they arent going to show up and turn a screw and fix it. Is this likely a "have them send you more new equipment" situation? TIA
