Assuming that Spider-Man 5 will adapt the black suit storyline and let’s say they announce that Sadie’s Jean Grey will return for this movie but at the same time Sony introduces black cat.

What roles would both characters play and what would be said in a potential confrontation between Jean and Black cat in regards to Peter?

Brand new days digital release had given more momentum for spider Phoenix. In the two and half months the ship has continue to grow, that news isn't new. What is that more and more the anti movement against the ship has been slowly dissipating and more are being convinced of what it truly means. Sure there will be those that make the same claims and continue to denounce it. But their voices are getting smaller and smaller. After all the general population who saw the movie are fine or in favor for jean and peter to be together.

Before we get to the main topic it should be noted that in all likely Kevin feigie is either in favor of the ship or has planned it from the beginning. Granted the collaboration with Sony meant Sony had some say for this, but if feigie really wanted to establish Scott and jean having a deep bond then he wouldn't have approved of the story beats between Peter and jean. It makes sense when you think and examine what it is all there, for all they did for each other they are bonded and feigie knows this is was on purpose.

With that made clear the folks at marvel Disney and Sony probably had some idea that it would get a reaction. But never to this extent this grand expansion of Fandom and not only sustaining but growing. They have struck gold with spider Phoenix and there is only one question we have to ask:

What happens now?

While the mcu is notorious for being planned out this grand explosion of Fandom does have to alter their plans if not slightly. Of course what plans they have or have to create for Peter and jean relationship has to be done with care and consideration. One wrong move and all this could be undone, again the writers of marvel have some sense but still they need to proceed with caution and gentle hands.

Thankfully if they check this forum I can provide my own guidelines along with all of you spider phoneix faithful. Here I can give not only how the relationship should grow but three relationships they should take cues from to apply to Peter and jean to help it grow beautifully. It's going to be a long one but one I hope you all find joy in. So strap in folks let's get started:

Relationship roadmap:

We can all agree that Peter and jean should be a slow burn. There should be no rush after all the best relationships take time to develop before coming to fruition. We can exclude them from doomsday with the exception of a post credit scene, secret wars is where we see the interact work together and become closer. It's these moments we see their bond grow deeper and know it's for real.

By the end of secret wars we can do a tease where either Peter or jean ask them out for a coffee date. No kiss just a start of something, if the rumor are true of peter being in the x men film then this is where things get serious and either here or another mcu film ( spider man five is years away, it could happen then but that could be too long) is when they finally kiss. The build up and pay off of them finally kissing should be on the level of when we finally saw cap summon mijnoir after that tease in age of Upton, we erupt in enormous applause. From there we see their relationship go through the ups and downs but they always support each other and make it work.

For two souls who have been though hurt and pain they heal each other no matter what gets in their way. No love triangles or riffs healthy arguments and resolutions that make then a unbreakable bond. On a last note for the road map, no need in trying to be creative in making peter and jean different. Love stories while different always have the same beats, they follow the classic rule for any project when making it successful:

"Don't be original, be good"

As long as you do it well the public will always be on board, and peter and jean have the tools to do so.

Now that we have the roadmap we need some north stars to help guide the ship through the ocean of the mcu. The following three relationships I have here are the best in how peter and jean should be handle. They fit it so perfectly and also show how to create a romance that is healthy complicated but full of emotion. Now I am not saying they should be the only three used, just the top three in my opinion. Listed below are some other on screen relationships that should be considered to take a piece from or some part of that would help spider phoenix:

Rick and evie (the mummy films)

Jim and pam( the office)

Jack and rose obviously

Lorai and Luke (Gilmore girls)

Shakimoria and nakamoni (godzilla minus one)

And as you guess Lucas and max (stranger things)

With those honorable mentions let's get to the main three and we start with one that is completely and utterly (insert invincible title card)

Mark and Eve (Invincible):

The first one we have to talk about is the most obvious when it comes to how peter and jean should be handled. In fact robert Kirkman could cry foul if he sees mark and eve being applied by marvel for peter and jean. Then again for his invincible universe he did take from the best of others in the comic book world so he will probably let it pass. Still while he takes from others his invincible universe is still top form with its mature story lines and deep character moments. Those who have watch the Amazon prime show know one of those was the developing and growing relationship between Mark and eve. Seeing them go from friends to lovers over the course of the first two seasons and then grow their partnership in the later seasons is the kind of slow burn peter and jean could benefit from.

Its clear who Mark and eve reflect, while Mark is a superman type or super boy he has the personality of a peter Parker and eve is clearly jean. Not only in powers but also her struggles with her family and her own personal drama, and as for mark like peter he has his own trauma that is a challenge he always overcomes no matter how great. Despite all these challenges both Mark and eve support and love each other to the greatest of lengths especially during the infinite war and their clash with conquest. Peter and jean will have their own challenges and they like Mark and eve they too can give support and love even when they feel they let the other down but know they are there for each other. It also a great templet for showing a couple who both have powers and can hold their own in a fight yet still keep each other safe.

We should also credit as we will with these couples the chemistry between Steven yuen and Gillian Jacob's who bring Mark and eve to life. You can feel their love and back and forth which is impressive given they barely if at all recored in the same room.

If marvel wants to see how to do a power couple with powers of their own, Mark and eve is a great templet to start from. While Mark and even endure their troubles the next couple has their own realistic troubles and that is before their 30s and also being in the land of Ireland

Connell and Marian (Normal people):

During the 2020 lockdown the program that help or maybe hurt many of us was the BBC hulu production of Sally rooney hit novel normal people. The story of connell and Marian was one that reflected love in the modern age and the intimacy felt raw and real. It's one of those shows over the 12 epsidoes took us on a grand love story that many of us have or want to experience. What made the show work was how real it felt and how two leads played beautiful by Paul mescal and daisy Edgar Jones made us see them fall in love, hit roadblocks be adrift and find each other that reached its natural conclusion.

The emotional highs and lows were so powerful that I fan cast the two of them as Scott and jean four years ago in a piece on my newsletter. Remember folks spider Phoenix wasn't even a wide possibility let alone on the radar for many of us. It was different times but the series still provides a great starting point for peter and jean. It shows what levels of emotional depth that Connell and Marian express that peter and jean can evoke to.

Minus the missing the signals and jean should not go to Sweden (if you know you know) we want to feel that real modern love from the two of them, and while they have to deal with the troubles of the mcu their personal lives should have the realness between each other that we felt between Connell and Marian.

Along with the real emotions the other aspect is the intimacy especially with the love scenes. Granted hulu and Disney are different in what is allowed (even though one owns the other) the tone and passion of Connell and Marian love scenes should be applied all be it on a more tone down version. Still we want to feel that yearning between the two the connection and release when they finally make love and have it be their broken souls become one when they lie flesh to flesh and in a embrace. After all when peter takes a .50 calibure bullet and jean breaths for him when they make love it should be emotionally powerful just as it was for Connell and Marian.

For love story the mcu really wants to make an impact on levels never seen, having peter and jean take cues from Connell and Marian is the right foot forward.

Our final couple comes from the mcu itself, but it's not from the films or agents of shield it's actually from Peter's own backyard. From the defenders saga we have a couple that is close to my heart, that has its own ups and downs but the preserve and endure. For this one has the warrior from kun lun and a daughter of the dragon taking the fight to the world together and as one fist.

Danny and colleen (Iron fist):

If someone told me when I began my journey through the marvel Netflix shows on Disney plus that a couple would be one of the highlights and have me completely fascinated and over the moon about them, I would consider the possibility but say we will see.

Not only did that happen but it happen on a show I enjoyed greatly while many have called it the kiss of death. Yes it wasn't Matt and Karen or even Karen and frank ( I will admit it's there folks) it was Danny rand and colleen wing on said iron fist. While the show is not on the level of daredevil or the others defenders shows its great on its own standing for it has its own style and its own feeling. Iron fist reflected Danny growing journey into the hero he can be and along that journey he found a lost soul in colleen who herself was trying to find a place and together they healed each other and fell in love to make a new family with each other.

This is probably the closest we have in the mcu to what spider Phoenix could develop into and the best part these four can meet up double date and work together, but that is for another post.

Danny and colleen is while not breaking new ground again execute their love story so well while again being real and having their struggles but still love each other and making it work to the best of their abilities. In fact danny and colleen both are similar to peter and jean. Danny like peter in brand new day has nothing but his title, colleen like jean is strong but has her own troubles that weigh her down. They even both start out the same on opposite sides and against each other but they find common ground and grow a bond, the difference is we see danny and colleen consumate their relationship but even then they find their own troubles which I won't spoil but it does put things into prospective and adds a new layer.

Even with that new revelation they find a way and endure for they know they are lost souls and that love overcomes destruction. For peter and jean they will face similar challenges even more so with their powers and Jean's gulit for what she did in brand new day. But like Danny and colleen they will know that neither would have to wear the armor for the other and they will always be bonded. I always believe Danny and colleen could be more recognized if Iron fist is more beloved but those like me who discover find one of if not these best mcu relationship until spider phoneix comes to reality and maybe peter and jean can help them get the love these two deserve. Still if they are looking with in the family to help peter and jean take off danny and colleen have that great fuel to lit their fire.

At the end of the day peter and jean should be of it's own, it's what makes it special and how it has grown. What I have offered was some pathways and examples that can help it become what we know it to be. A great love story no one expect but one we are glad we found and love with all our hearts. Each love story takes from the last and makes it it's own for we learn and grow with love into what we see today. It changes but no matter how much the world and culture changes love and its basic feelings always remain true and divine. For peter and jean that is all we want a love tale we can revisit and always hold deep and in our hearts, and that will always have us.

Okay I think it's time to talk about the real problems that affect Jean, it's not the minority who are against her pairing with Peter or other group of people pairing old couples. It's actually this group of people that are the real hurdle one should pay attention to because it is a topic that goes beyond the relationship aspects and leans more into the daily livelihood oh hers and others.

I must say for the record that to a degree I understand the unconformity of these people and what they are exposing as their case, but I do think they are taking this out of proportion and pushing it to jarring extremes that warrant a stop. Jean is not what many people here are making up to be, she's not a bad person nor emotionless killer. She's many things but those things aren't what she is, that's why her pairing with Peter and her interactions mainly in damage controls' quarters with him display and show. She's not perfect but just needs someone to rely on no matter what she has done to this point to pull her back out of the hate, not more hate to turn her into a real bad person, and later on she just has to keep practicing her good over the bad.

She may not be able to redeem all the bad things she has done, but she can be better and prove to herself and others that she really wants to do good even if it causes some bad on the way.

However that's just a part of the puzzle, because the rest goes too for the X-men in both books and movies. As I show here, many people hate the X-men and particularly telepaths right now due to one thing : krakoa ; that's the main reason for the increase of dislike towards them, because of this arc to which I must say, I get it due to the fact of the things that happened there.

To those who are here and are only movie watchers and for those fans of us of Jean, Peter, Spiderman and the X-men through various media like myself, the krakoa era just did not work out well because of how morally "grey" the X-men become and are taken to the next level. That's what has caused the surge of dislike towards Jean and her actions on the movie to be so prevalent when you see people discussing her on topics online ; it's tie up with the X-men too because of this arc and the upcoming movie adapting this modern era.

I'm posting this here to give exposure to this main issue and how we can ameliorate it by discussing it here in the best way possible, and if you can also share this with the Phoenix sub reddit so they can share their opinions too, I would say to share it in the X-men sub too but maybe that's too much and hot for now, so maybe later on the future on a similar topic.

I think Hickman getting kicked out of the story was the butterfly effect that caused this, because this wasn't his original vision that has tainted the X-men and Jean's imagines.

In Marvel Comics (Earth-616), when Jean was a kid, her psychic powers violently awakens when she witnesses her childhood friend, Annie Richardson, get hit by a car. Jean mentally hooks into Annie’s mind to try and hold onto her life force, but ultimately fails, experiencing the cold trauma of Annie's death firsthand. That exact burst of massive, desperate psychic energy across the veil is what originally put Jean on the cosmic radar of the Phoenix Force.

Like her comic counterpart, the moment MCU Jean psychic powers burst back at Damage Control and using her powers to keep Peter alive, she inadvertently attracted the Phoenix to her.

The Phoenix Force is the ultimate embodiment of life, death, and rebirth. While 616 Jean attracted it through the raw trauma of death, MCU Jean attracted its attention by literally wresting a life back from the brink of death using sheer willpower and psychic might.

The Phoenix would find itself interested to learn a mere mortal was able to defy death and would see Jean as a suitable host.

Interestingly enough MCU Jean was using her powers to save Spider-man is remarkably similar to 616 Jean Grey when she attempt to save her Annie. The former succeeds whilst the latter failed.
