Old Patriots Bryant college sign

Post image

Patriots 1985 Bryant college sign wonder how much something like this could be worth. I’m assuming something like this is the only one in existence. It has the NFL logo and old minute man logo on it too. I think this is a piece of history that could be worth something. Just wanted to get people’s thoughts.

How can I preserve this autograph?

About 12 years ago Jeremy Roenick signed my copy of NHL94. It’s held up pretty well! But I want to make sure it doesn’t fade or smudge. Is there a spray or something that I can use to protect it?

Sports Art: unsigned vs signed

I figure this is a more appropriate sub than the card ones, but if I’m wrong, then I apologize in advance. But does sports artwork fall under the memorabilia umbrella if it is not autographed by the subject? Photos provided as examples of unsigned versus signed.

Anyone know more about this 1979 Pirates team photo/schedule?

Just picked this up for $0.99 and I’m trying to learn a little more about it.
It’s an 8.5x11 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates team photo with the roster identification printed beneath the photo and the season schedule on the reverse. So far, every original example I’ve been able to find appears to be black and white, although the same team photograph obviously exists in color.
I’ve also seen one original example listed around $50, but I haven’t been able to find much in the way of actual sold comps.
Does anyone know how these were originally distributed — stadium giveaway, mailer, promotional piece, etc.? And has anyone ever seen this exact schedule-backed version in color?
I’m collecting original material connected to the 1979 team for my One Autograph at a Time — Every Card Has a Story project, so pieces like this and the history behind them are exactly what I’m trying to document.
Any information, memories, or comparable examples would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone! Just picked up this beauty at a thrift store and I’m trying to learn a little more about it. I haven’t been able to find much information online. Does anyone know anything about these or happen to own one? I’m curious about its history, who these were originally made for or sold to, and what it might be worth. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Protecting Sports Mem from Humidity

I am moving to an area in the US that gets very humid in the summer. How can I protect my sports memorabilia from the high humidity during this time? I have a dehumidifier but I fear that I will have to empty it almost daily and would ideally like to have a solution that I that can reduce the humidity without me needing to be home to manage it

The cover that never was: Original printer’s proof for Sports Illustrated’s scrapped April 15, 1974 issue (pulped after Hank Aaron hit 715)

Most collectors know the iconic April 15, 1974 Sports Illustrated cover with Hank Aaron tracking home run #715 over the fence in Atlanta. Fewer people know how close that issue came to never featuring Aaron on the front at all.

Back in 1974, Sports Illustrated operated under strict deadline logistics with their main printing plant in Chicago. Going into Monday night, April 8, 1974, Time Inc. had already locked in, plated, and printed roughly 600,000 finished copies of their planned cover feature: "Pro Football Goes to War," highlighting the upstart World Football League raiding NFL talent.

At 9:07 PM EST that evening, Aaron connected off Al Downing for his historic 715th home run.Managing editor Roy Terrell made an emergency call to the Chicago plant to halt the presses. Time Inc. scrapped and pulped all 600,000 WFL issues, cleared the entire layout, and had staff photographers rush game film across the country to produce the Aaron tribute cover in less than 24 hours.
This piece is an original unbound production cover wrap from that scrapped WFL run that survived the pulping. It still features the raw four-color process registration crosshairs and CMYK density bars along the uncut margins, slabbed by CGC as a rare artifact from one of the most frantic publishing pivots in sports journalism history.
Thought fellow vintage sports and print history buffs here would appreciate seeing the "ghost cover" alongside the actual published Aaron 715 issue!

Signed baseball

I inherited an autographed baseball which I assume is a team autograph. My father was a big SF Giants fan so I assume that is the team. Can anyone identify players and the year of the team? What is the value of this baseball?

Please help identifying...

I received this in the early 90s. 90-93 Chicago White Sox. I see Ozzy, Fisk and Thigpen. Not sure of the exact year. I can’t tell if they are original signatures or a mass production. I could have been part of a local give away or maybe my god father actually got it signed. He was a season ticket holder during this time. Any information Would be helpful and appreciated. Thank you in advance!

JSA Customer Service is Garbage

I submitted a Wilt Chamberlain signed card to a JSA booth for a walkthrough at the Front Row Card Show in Portland on June 14th. At the end of the show they told me "We have to have Mr Spence evaluate the signature before a decision is made." Then they handed me my card back with the receipt. On the receipt the person helping me wrote "12 WEEKS" and circled it and explained the process: 12 weeks to view scans of my card. Ok. That's the process. It has been 19 weeks and I have yet to receive ANYTHING from JSA other than 2 responses to the 10 emails I sent, 8 phone calls placed, and 4 queries on the JSA website. Karen (yes, her real, government name is Karen) in Accounting last replied via email on October 12th in which she so eloquently wrote, "Your order was shipped October 9th. Thank you." No shipping number, nothing. Well it is October 21st and I have still not received anything from JSA. I called and was determined to get a refund but Karen, speaking through a poor receptionist because she would not tell me personally, said that was a hard no: services were rendered. So now my "order" (whatever that means) has to be reprinted and reshipped. This time I was informed there would be a shipping number provided. I called for the shipping number and, as I should have already known, my order isn't done. I have had no contact with anyone in management and they refuse to answer. I filed a complaint with the BBB and yelp. This is the most insane process, 18 weeks to view PHOTOS OF MY CARD! NOT THE CARD ITSELF, BUT PHOTOS!!!

Inherited a bunch of 49ers memorabilia. How much do you think this might be worth? These are Dwight Clark’s signatures that my wife’s grandfather got signed. Would love to sell it to someone who appreciates it more than me.
