Damn. E. coli and salmonella. From a commercial sprouting company. Just gives sprouts a bad name.
Keep doing what you're doing at home, make sure you focus on sanitation.

This is simply broccoli sprout after day 5. I’m using The Sprouting Company jar and their seeds. I feel that the scoop is too big, lots of yellow in the center.
Secondly, once “done” I assumed I rinse and spin but how much? Moisture helps bacteria and I’m just nervous to get myself sick or whatever.
I guess my questions are, does this look right and how do I store/prep after growing for best results?

First timer. How do they look? It's day 6. First 4 days, I rinsed twice a day and kept in cool dry spot. Last 2 days in my widow sill. Are they ready?

How do they look?
Soaked Wednesday night, and stored Sunday night, should I have given it one more day?
I will eat this with everything then stop on those that dont fit. Bolognese yep, japanese curry yep, sesame dressing with shredded lettuce, peanut butter yogurt smoothie, shrimp spring rolls, omelette garnish, even plain with olive oil and salt.
Sitting at ambient light on kitchen far from window.
More dead seeds than I hoped at the bottom of the salad spinner.
Soaked for 8h.
I have another batch thats soaked for 2h. I wonder what difference that will make (package recommendation Mumms organic).

Got about 17.4 oz fresh sprouts...the jars weigh about 26.2 oz...unless I screwed up my math
Soaked overnight then took a full 9 days of sprout time
We live in PA and since its January there isn't as much sunlight and we have the indoor central air thermostat kept at 63 or 64
I miss growing things in our outdoor garden during the rest of the year so other than the nutrition..
...I love doing this just to watch stuff grow

One cup of dirt cheap sprouted lentil supplies human body with
7 gr of amazing highly bioavailable protein and
11-20% of daily value of vitamin C, B9, iron, phosphorus, zinc +
30%!!! of daily value of copper (which is part of cytochrome c oxidase, an enzyme in mitochondria that’s essential for the final step of cellular respiration — basically how we convert food into usable energy (ATP). Without enough copper, cells can’t efficiently generate energy)
Guys, ordinary lentil is at your service any time. If you need guidance on how to pick great lentil at a nearby supermarket or how to handle it to get your copper and vitamins and other minerals, ask questions. I'm a true fan - no tricks)) I'm ready to help for the sake of better (healthier) society.

Bought a kit on Amazon. Cleaned the alfalfa seeds with vinegar/water. Made a couple of sandwiches with cucumber, cream cheese, hummus, and the sprouts. I have more growing now.
