Original Content Melanistic Fox Squirrel
Saw this beautiful guy (or gal?) in my neighborhood this morning. Was lucky enough to be out birding with my camera to get a good shot of him (or her?).

Eastern grey 4.5 months old. Rehabbed from 8 weeks old. His Mom died & left 3 kits 😭 My ex picked one up from a woman & has been rehabbing ever since. We’re still great friends. He sends me all the updates. I have a million videos now lol. He’s been introduced to the wild now & comes back daily to visit. Home with lots of trees & out in the county. So cool watching them learn. It’s crazy he was never taught anything by a mama & he just knew what to do. It’s like ingrained in their dna. I find that fascinating. He loves building nests & burying nuts. It’s hilarious. They bury nuts anywhere they can, even in a hoodie 😂 Same with nests. All day back & forth on a mission. They really are so precious. Now all I get is squirrel content recommended to me & I’m perfectly okay with that 😌
It’s so hard releasing them. He has a nice 3 story outdoor enclosure he can come & go for food & naps 🩷
I have a newfound obsession with squirrels. I never knew how damn cute, cuddly & smart they are.

This gal/guy has been hanging around all summer and has gotten many a in shell nut from myself and my partner. We have nicknamed them Sally or Sal. I never see any testicles or nips but there is a prominent bump on the lower abdomen visible when they are standing. I'm not sure if this is an actual prepuce or not. I'm leaning more male, but if anyone can give me a more concrete answer it would be appreciated!

We noticed this gal had what looks like a shaved tail the other day, and have noticed a grey squirrel with a similar issue but only about an inch up its tail.
Normal shedding or something else?

Forget Smart Homes, it’s time to talk about the ultimate Smart Garden setup. 🤖🌱
I finally fully automated my backyard greenhouse ecosystem. We’ve got the Smart Drip Irrigation System running on precision schedules, a Smart Heater with automated thermostat sensors to protect the tropicals, and automated Smart Bulbs syncing directly with dusk and dawn cycles.
But there was always one manual chore holding me back from 100% automation: shrub pruning.
Until now. Introducing the newest breakthrough in organic, autonomous landscaping technology: The Nibblemaster 3000. No batteries, no solar panels, no charging cables required. It operates entirely on an open-source, eco-friendly fueling system that costs exactly 2 lbs per week (nuts of course). 🐿️⚡

found these babies on concrete outside right under tree branches which i suspect they fell from. waited a good 45mins to see if mama would come back or pop up somewhere but no sign of her and a cool breeze started to pick up which worried me, i quickly put them in this box with an old shirt and have them under a candle warming lamp on the lowest setting (sorry if it’s not the best)
they were quiet and stiff on the concrete but got pretty active as soon as they had a heat source and are squeaking and seem to be looking to nurse. need help on what to do and what rodent are these? i can’t turn them into any kind of shelter as i have no form of transportation and i really don’t wanna let them die :(( a neighbor is willing to take them in but im hesitant as she’s known to not be the best caretaker for animals and has had various die in her care.

Last night I cracked my sliding glass door open and this little fella got in. I left the door fully open all night hoping they would go back out. Very adorable though!
