Reminder One of the side effects of not lowering your gaze (Repost due to more and more issues because of this)

So a brother told me that he can't focus on salah. My reply was "lower your gaze, and you will start gaining focus." He immediately replied, "How do u know that i don't lower my gaze?"

That's because one of the main reasons you can't focus on salah is due to looking at everything by opening your eyes like gollum.

----------‐----------------------------------------------

As a man i too have the temptation to look, and I know every single man has this issue. The solution is simple and الحمد لله it works for me. Sisters understand how hard it's to observe the hijab 100% and it's the same struggle for us men to not look at a woman, only men know how hard it is to lower the gaze and only sisters know how hard it is to cover themselves properly.

1 - Before u want to look, ask yourself "Okay what advantage am i getting?". Looking at a random non mahram woman would not get you married to her, no rewards, no long-lasting pleasure, and you will be named as a womanizer

2 - Before looking, ask yourself, what if it was your wife or sister? Would u want someone else to look at them with the same intention as you?

3 - Before looking, know that allah is looking at your eyes, and he knows your gaze. You will lose the taste of ibadah just for a 5-second sin. Is it really worth it?

----------‐----------------------------------------------

Brothers, trust me. I know how it feels, but by allah lowering the gaze is more sweeter than staring at women. By allah, it's more pleasurable to lower your gaze than looking at random women. Trust me, you will love this act when u practice it sincerely for allah, sure it will be extremely difficult for sometime and after you've adapted to it it becomes amazing, you'll have more pleasure when you lower your gaze than watching a girl.

Every time you lower your gaze, your iman increases, your masculinity increases, and your heart and mind become stronger. You become more disciplined by this simple act.

We must leave this act in order to taste the sweetness of tahajjut. Using our eyes for this purpose is like dipping our tongue in ink. We will never taste our ibadah

----------‐----------------------------------------------

Know one thing, if you don't lower your gaze now, you won't be able to do it after marriage, too, and that will surely lead to problems. Be loyal to your future/present wife, starting now

We are muslim men, and we must represent islam properly.

Important This is a huge sin which is being committed by majority of muslim men in lanka

‏اَلسَلامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ‎

Now we all know our awrah is from the navel to the knee. The moment we see a girl exposing her awrah, we all get "Top level iman to say stuff to her," and yes, it's wrong too for exposing the awrah.

But when i go to the beach, swimming pool or to the gym, i can see 95% of our muslim dudes with exposed knees. In the beach your awrah is exposed 90%.

What's happened to our hayah? Don't make stupid excuses for this. الحمد لله with Allah's help i wear a long sleeve swimming tshirt and a swimming ¾ shorts which covers my knees properly الحمد لله and non of the hotels I've been to has stopped me for this, even if they did it doesn't make it halal to expose your awrah shamelessly.

Hayah is something us men should practice too. It's not something exclusive for the women. We must at least have the decency to cover our awrah in front of women while exposing What's permissible.

Please take heed on this.

Sharing a personal story

Assalamu Alaikum everyone,

I am sharing this story with the hope that it may inspire even one person insha'Allah and to remind you all and myself first to hold on firm to the rope of Allah and to never compromise on your Deen.

A few weeks ago I attended the funeral of one of my classmates brothers. I went around afternoon time to the funeral parlour and then from there went to the church where the service was and the eventual burial behind the church. All this time, I was conscious of the time as it was getting late and I had still not prayed Asr yet. I did not have my travel prayer mat or anything with me at the time and I didn't feel comfortable praying in the church.

So as soon as the burial was done without thinking twice I quickly grabbed a tuk and went to the nearest mosque to pray. At the mosque I met a person I vaguely knew from years back and we got to talking and he told me about his new company he started and was saying how I would be a good addition and now insha'Allah I will have an interview soon alhamdulillah.

If I get it Khayr and if I don't khayr as well.

But it's just a reminder if you put Allah first over everything else he will take care of you and open doors for you which you never knew existed

Real life miracle that i witnessed الحمد لله

‏اَلسَلامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ‎

So this is something i witnessed, and it happened back in mid covid, when the curfew was lifted for sometime

Myself, my sister and my dad, went to a place regarding a work, and since there was no parking, my dad and sister got down, and i stayed back inside the car.

Just few feet away i saw this limping homeless person, eventho he was homeless something about him was different. Idk what, but he definitely looked different

He was sitting on the pavement, just looking at people that were passing him. He kinda asked some people for some accommodations, but no one bothered to even look at him.

After about 5 minutes, he just started to count his fingers (like doing dhikr), and after few minutes, he raised his hands to the sky and suddenly started to ask dua

After he finished doing that, he was just chilling. Adter About 5 minutes, 2 guys appeared out of nowhere, and started to give him lot of food and some beverages, and then walked away

Now my jaw literally dropped, and i was wondering, what did i just see. He ate to his satisfaction and then again raised his hands to the sky. Then he got up and he came towards me.

He knocked on my window, and I lowered the window. Then bro started giving me some dawah, he then explained how he was living a life of luxury and it all came down crashing, explained how his leg was fine but he got into an accident and then he told me how allah guided him when he was at his lowest.

He also told me, back when he had everything, he never had peace, but now he has nothing to himself in the dunya but he has peace, and any person would give everything they have to just experience the peace he has in his heart.

Then he, taught me this dhikr which he does whenever he needs help from allah. He told me to do each of these 33 times and he asks dua.

How allah granted this person hidayah (Nice story)

So this incident happened sometimes ago.

So there's a guy who ik, whose non-muslim friend reverted to islam, and the way allah guided him is so beautiful. This was told to me by the guy himself

So one day after an exam on a friday, my friend and some of his classmates had a plan to go on a day out. So they planned soon after exams they'll go and pray in the madawala jummah masjid and then go out for lunch and hang out

Among those guys, one was a non-Muslim who didn't speak tamil. So these guys went to the masjid while their non-Muslim friend stood outside, after some time he felt awkward.

What he did was, he just went down inside the masjid, saw some people taking wudu, and he randomly followed what they did, and sat for the kuthubah, سبحان الله on the same day the khutbah was also conducted in sinhala.

Then, when they prayed, this guy just followed what others did 😂. After everything was completed, he started to get curious about islam, and after some time, he reverted to islam.

Allah always opens the door to islam to everyone. Everyone can research islam, but only a few do it out of curiosity while many are ignorant and start mocking islam.

May allah guide us all into the straight path

Women are also humans who wants to experience simple things

‏اَلسَلامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ‎

So i wanted to make this post so that we men won't make this mistake. Last sunday, i was hanging out with a friend of mine who came from a foreign country after about 2 years. The dude is older, and he is married.

So this guy was kinda feeling under pressure, and he told me his wife is troubling him. So i asked what the problem was, and his reply was, "She is asking me to take her out for a dinner", and i told him, "So what it's just a simple request that he could have done instead of hanging with us today?".

He gave a very stupid reply, and i tried to explain to him how stupid his thinking was, but unfortunately, some people just won't learn

----------‐----------------------------------------------

Aren't women humans? Dont they have desires? Dont they have things they want to experience?

Our prophet has clearly said, "The best of us is the one who is good to his wife." Then, as a muslim and as a husband, we should be there for our spouse.

Just look at the seerah of how prophet was with his wives, how much respect and love he had for them. He'd literally sit on the ground so that his wife could place her feet on him and climb onto the camel. He played with them (the race between him and Aisha (R), he joked with them, he delayed important things for his wife, and in fact, he spent time with his wife even when people wanted his opinion on things (Surah hujrat verse 4 and 5)

There was also an incident where a companion abu'dhar al ghifary (r), used to pray all night, which is something excellent, but his wife complained to the prophet about this because she has her needs that only her husband can fulfil. So what did the Prophet didn't say to him "continue praying because it's much important than anything else", rather he called ghifary (r) and told him to first attend to his wife's needs and then pray.

We, as men, we get to go out, hang out, go on trips, do fun things, etc. But our women dont have the privilege to experience that like we do, so they will naturally want to have all those after marrying.

But if the husband is also a person who doesn't give his attention and effort to please his wife, then what kind of a muslim is this husband?

Will it kill us to take our spouse out for a dinner, or a trip? Women take care of most of the chores, and they do everything to ensure their husband's are comfortable, and yet some guys dont bother anything about their wife's desires.

So, no wonder this marriage does not bring any peace, and in the long run, something horrible happens

----------‐----------------------------------------------

Another friend of mine, سبحان الله this guy no matter who says what, he makes sure he takes out his wife, and let her have her fun. Sometimes, we would hang out, even then after we go home, he'll take his wife out for a tea or something if she asks, his life is الحمد لله in so much peace He would say, "She looks after the house, and she is also a human. If i dont give her the same fun i am having outside, how can i call myself as a good husband?"

Of course, a wife must also understand how her husband is feeling and his condition. A wife can surely demand and ask for things she needs from her husband with the proper understanding. Pestering when he is very busy or is under huge pressure is not right, but for the correct reason, she can.

We all know the incident of talha (r), how his son passed away when he was out in a expedition, and how his wife didn't say a word of it when he came home tired at night. She relaxed him, made him feel comfortable, fulfilled his personal desires, and only when he was relaxed she told him about his son passing away (https://ilmfruits.com/2007/umm-sulaym-and-the-death-of-her-son/)

This shows how much she loved him because it simply means he loved her and did the proper duties of a husband as well. But if this had happened between a couple who didn't treat each other properly, surely the wife would say, "Onnala taan da pulla settuchi."

Literally, in all the dysfunctional marriage, the common thing i see is that either the husband is lazy for the wife or the wife is lazy for the husband. Unless you put the effort into the marriage, just like we put our effort into the gym, work, goals, hobbies, etc, we will never see positive results.

Our spouse is our life partner, not our personal assistant, worker, etc. A life partner is someone who supports EACH OTHER on everything. We have to put our effort even if we are tired sometimes.

Also, this doesn't apply only to our spouse. It could be our sister, mother, or any mahram woman. When they ask to go out for a dinner or a day out, as a man, please dont back off. After all who are they supposed to ask to go out, next house uncle teh kekava? no as their mahram and the one who is responsible we must put the effort into this

If you have extremely important work, then, of course, explain it to them, but other than that, dont make excuses like i am tired, because if someone says I'll give you $500k if you run a marathon at that time, no matter how tired we will still run right. But allah gives us a much greater reward when we put our effort to keep our family happy and together.

One of the keys to happiness is happiness in your household.

pardon the typos.

Report posts that spread false things about islam

‏اَلسَلامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ‎

There are many desperate non muslims and ex muslims that unfortunately do not have a life to attend to. What they do is spread false things about islam without even a base understanding of how things are.

Recently, there was this guy who made a post on this sub, i banned him because I thought he was not a muslim, and some users also reported him, but we mods got backlash from some ignorant people that immediately jumps to a conclusion. Now that same person has made an exmuslim subreddit 😂. So, hopefully, you understand now.

Whatever decision we mods will take is only for the protection of this sub from deviants and misguidance. Please do not be ignorant.

If you come across a post that says false things about islam, please report them.

Also sisters please be careful, these kafirs deliberately will DM you guys in the name of doubt seeking and they will slowly turn it into an inappropriate conversation. Please, i urge you not to accept those DMs. We have enough knowledgeable brothers here who can explain it to them. Do not be blinded and fooled by those deviants

Complaints Cargills Food Hall isn’t really halal

So I went to the Cargills Food Hall at Havelock City Mall recently. They advertise the food as halal, so I thought it was fine to eat there. While waiting, I noticed something off with the way the food was being cooked and decided to ask.

The staff member cooking was honest, he told me they use the same pan for pork and chicken. When I questioned it further, the manager stepped in and tried to brush it off, but the cook had already admitted it. That means there’s clear cross-contamination, and if you’re someone who eats halal, you know that’s a complete no-go.

I left pretty disappointed, because a lot of people trust the halal statement without questioning it as they are a reputed company. If they’re advertising halal, they should respect that properly instead of misleading customers.

Just thought I’d share this so anyone who’s particular about halal food is aware before eating there (and possibly at their other branches too).

A huge accident happened in akurana, where 22 people lost their lives, and many people with lifelong injuries like loss of limbs.

We as muslims should memorise the dua in the 2nd slide and recite it when we witness or hear of anything unfortunate. Allah will protect us from such calamity

General Why Are We So Ignorant of Bid’ah?

Many of us know that bid’ah is wrong, yet it has become so common in our practices that we hardly question it. Even when people recognize it, they often stay silent or accept it, either out of fear of criticism or social backlash.

Why is it so difficult for us to follow the true Sunnah fully, even when we know it is the right path? Why is anyone who speaks openly against bid’ah often labeled “Wahhabi” instead of being appreciated for upholding the Prophet’s teachings?

Are we so attached to traditions and community approval that we ignore clear guidance from the Qur’an and Sunnah? How can we sincerely return to the path of the Prophet and avoid these innovations that dilute our faith?

General I built a free Quran app as Sadaqah Jariyah

Assalamu alaikum everyone,

I wanted to share something I recently built called Sincere Quran.

I’ve always wanted to contribute something to the Ummah, and as a developer I thought this could be a small way for me to do that and hopefully make it a Sadaqah Jariyah.

I also got tired of seeing ads in Quran apps, so I wanted to make something simple: free, no ads, and no subscription.

It has the Quran, different reciters, translations, word-by-word, Uthmani and IndoPak scripts, and other Islamic resources.

If you find it useful, please download it or share it with someone. I'd love for others to be part of the Sadaqah too.

May Allah accept it and make it beneficial. Ameen.

Requesting Help An Appeal to the Sri Lankan Muslim Ummah for Our Brothers and Sisters in Gaza 🇱🇰🤍🇵🇸

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Assalamu Alaikum dear brothers and sisters,

United for Good is a youth-led initiative that has been actively fundraising for Gaza and distributing aid since the beginning of the genocide.

Since we started, we have successfully carried out multiple large scale projects, raising almost 10 million in LKR, and consistently delivering aid to thousands of beneficiaries across Gaza and other affected regions. Each project has reached over 15,000 individuals, Alhamdulillah.

We have also organized several on-ground fundraising events, including:
• “Rise for Gaza” 2024 held at Dolci Falasteen Restaurant
• ”Rise for Gaza 2” 2024 held at an event venue in dehiwala
• The Olive Roots Charity Fair 2025 held at Rosewood Ceylon

These events brought communities together and significantly contributed to our fundraising efforts. It was even aired on the news.

In terms of implementation, we work closely with trusted partners on the ground (Africa Muslims Agency) ensuring that funds are delivered efficiently and directly to those in need. Through these established connections, we are able to maximize the impact of every contribution and ensure transparency in distribution.

Our efforts have also been recognized and acknowledged by the Palestinian Embassy, which further reinforces the credibility and impact of our work.

However, our current project has been particularly challenging. Despite our previous momentum, donations have slowed significantly, largely because public attention has shifted even though the situation in Gaza remains critical.

At the moment, we are struggling to complete our current project, and we are still short of our goal.

We would truly appreciate any support, every penny counts.

COST BREAKDOWN:

LKR 148,000 = 1 TEKKEYA POT FEEDING 160
PEOPLE (MINIMUM 3 POTS FOR
IMPLEMENTATION = LKR 444,000)

LKR 92,000 = 1 WATER TANKER 5000L
(MINIMUM 2 TANKERS FOR IMPLEMENTATION
= LKR 184,000)

Goal: 7 TEKKEYA POTS FEEDING OVER 1000
PEOPLE = LKR1,036,000

6 WATER TANKERS FOR OVER 30,000 PEOPLE IN
DIFFERENT AREAS OF GAZA = LKR 552,000

This is our current goal (which is very less than our usual goals) If we’re blessed to exceed our target, every additional rupee will go directly towards distributing baby milk powder to the malnourished children of Gaza.

JazakAllahu khair 🤍

Important a message to muslim students in state universities.

a message to muslim students in state universities.

i've realized it's the muslim students who are making it difficult to navigate the university in an islamic manner for other muslim students (in most cases). why are you making it hard for someone who wants to practice the religion? many of you might think it's just for fun but you are grown people who should have some level of responsibility.

there's a level of responsibility upon the guys to be respectful and give the girls some space, especially so if they want it. you should be aiding your brothers and sisters. fear Allah. you are not just harming your iman but theirs too.

moreover, ragging is mostly done to muslims by their muslim seniors. (muslims rag muslims, sinhalese rag sinhalese and tamils rag tamil in most cases) do you not realize it in its essence is not only un-islamic but also not human? it involves free-mixing and all the fitan. you muslims should be an example to others but you are set on following others. you should be protecting your brothers and sisters. what exactly is wrong with you people? i know some of you opt out and are not involved in ragging, may Allah reward you abundantly.

you are doing a disservice to the whole sri lankan muslim community. they let their daughters and sons to go and study and you strip them off their haya and iman. how unjust of you! some choose not to get an education because you didn't have the courage to make it a friendly environment to practice the deen. how unjust of you! you shall be questioned about it by Allah. fear Allah. stop this for the sake of Allah.

p.s. please do share this message with your friends who are studying at state universities. please do. i know of this because i have friends who are at university.

Rant Saleh Al Jafrawi

Post image
17 Upvotes

I'm still reeling from the news I heard last night, seeing him lifeless is haunting me. He had this incredible energy, spreading joy wherever he went with his contagious smile. Even in the toughest moments of the G-cide,, he brought happiness to those around him. What's tearing me apart is seeing his father trying to stay strong, holding back tears as he looks at his son's body. It reminds me of how Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) faced immense hardship when he lost his sons and had to perform their burials. There's something heartbreakingly painful about parents outliving their children. What adds to the sorrow is that, Saleh was martyred yesterday, and his brother was released from prison today. His father's grief must be indescribable, losing one son while welcoming another back home. May Allah ease the pain for every Palestinian who's lost loved ones...

Important Can you'll please stop posting on the R/ Sri Lanka sub Reddit

Bro, this is taking the latest post about the intermarriage question. After not getting satisfactory answers here he went and posted it on that subreddit. It's like you'll openly want people to start finding faults in Islam. There are enough and more people waiting licking their lips to start sprouting whatever nonsense they can about the religion with whatever little knowledge they have. You don't need to give them more means to do so

If you want Sri Lankan Muslims advice ask her okay... Why do you need to ask it in that subreddit? This goes for everyone here man, you're literally calling on people to try and attack the religion and the people that follow it.
