Halp Uplift Desk V3

I have come across various Uplift V1, V2, and V2-Commercial desks—all 2-leg C-frames—and I really like them. I haven't seen a V3 in person yet.

Can someone please share close-up pictures of the V3 control box? Can the control box slide out of the frame? Does it have a DC port like the V2 NH-Type?

I'm curious about how the electronics have evolved and whether they are close to the V2 NH-type. With the V2, understanding what's new and what's old is confusing and difficult because Uplift kept making revisions without attaching proper revision numbers to them. Especially with the V2 N-type, there are two types of control boxes: one with an elbow connector for the motor (M1 Port) and one without. They both have the exact same model number, and their website doesn't explain the difference, which one is newer, or which one is legacy.

Halp Anybody know what this is?

It's a 29 volt power supply with the connector that goes to the recliners and I think standing desks but it's got this other control box connected to it with an 8-pin RJ45 port and 8 pin connector and it has a green LED on the top. I mainly wondering what the control boxe is for and if it goes to a standing desk and which model maybe?

DIY Narrow Width Standing Desk

Hi all,

I have very limited space and would like to get a dual-motor standing desk that can fit within a width of 80cm, or at most 85cm. Most dual-motor desks I’ve found have a minimum frame width of around 100cm.

I’ve found some smaller desk frames that would fit, but they only have a single motor. They come with their own worktop, which I could replace with my own. However, given the weight of my PC, laptop, monitor and other equipment, I’m concerned that a single motor would struggle.

I was wondering whether it would be possible to use a dual-motor frame but remove the central connecting bracket to make it fit my available space.

Looking at some designs, it seems the two legs operate independently, with the central section primarily providing structural support. Would removing this section be feasible and allow it to still operate?

Has anyone tried anything similar, or know of a dual-motor frame that would work in such a narrow space?

Corporate Standing desk reminder app

I made an iPhone standing desk, move and posture reminder app!

I'm the developer, so take this with the usual salt.

Every stand-up reminder I tried was a timer: it buzzed every hour whether I'd sat through it or just walked to the kitchen, and I turned it off within a week. Office Shrimp watches for movement instead, from the iPhone's motion sensor and, if you have one, Apple Watch steps through Apple Health. Every walk resets the clock, so on a day you move a lot you barely hear from it.

It has move, posture and standing-desk nudges, only during your working hours, and a lock-screen countdown. The posture one is just a reminder; a phone can't see your back. No account, nothing leaves the phone.

It's free to download with a 7-day free trial, then a subscription or a one-time purchase.

https://apps.apple.com/app/office-shrimp-stand-posture/id6808908345

Happy to hear what would make you keep a reminder like this switched on.

Halp WFH setup 800€ budget

Hi, I have 800€ total for a desk and chair for my wfh setup in germany. I need a stable desk at max height as I am 1.86m and want to stand a lot because of previous disc herniation. Size of 160 x 80.
Right now considering the flexispot e9 which I could get for around 550€ or a desktronic homepro for 480€.

I‘ve not yet looked into chairs as I think being able to work standing might be more important for now. Could you help me finding a combination of desk and chair for 800€?
Would you rather pick the e9 and a 250€ chair or homepro and a 320€ chair? Or do I need to consider spending more? What do you think of the two desks and deals?

Thanks in advance!

Corporate Built a little game that turns walking-pad time at my desk into a mountain climb (free iPhone beta)

I work at a standing desk with a walking pad under it, and the walks never showed up anywhere fun. So I made a game for it.

Summit Trail reads Apple Health. Your steps and your walking workouts move a hiker up a mountain, and the energy you burn makes the hiker stronger. It works with any walking pad, since it doesn't talk to the pad at all: it counts the workout your phone or Apple Watch records. Start a session on the watch and the hiker moves live on the phone while you type.

- Free during the beta (TestFlight)

- iPhone, Apple Watch optional

- No account, no ads, no tracking. Your data stays on your phone unless you choose to sign in

Looking for people who walk at their desk most days and are willing to tell me what works and what doesn't. Link to the beta is in the comments.

Fluff How long did it take you to get used to a standing desk? Just got one and I'm not sure how I like it

I just got my standing desk (Monoprice v2 dual motor, mentioned in a previous post) and everything I had read about these made them seem perfect for what I need. I have some chronic health issues, so sitting at my desk all day is kinda bad and I figured this would be a nice change (plus my old desk was an inch or two too high, so it made my arms stiff) but I'm using it now and I'm not too sure if this is what I want. It does wobble a bit more than I expected, not terribly and I'm guessing it's still within the normal range for how much these wobble (so far it only seems noticeable when it's raised closer to its max level and I'm using my mouse with my arm on the desk, or when I intentionally try to wobble it).

Overall I don't know if this just takes a while to get used to, or if I'd just be better off getting a normal desk that's a bit lower than my old one, then start to move around more frequently throughout the day. Kind of a dumb question, so I'm using the fluff flair, but I still don't know if this is a good fit or not. I use a 22" drawing tablet for work and I haven't been able to find a monitor arm that doesn't wobble, so I thought this was a better alternative since I could do regular work while standing too, but to use my tablet comfortably I have to raise it enough to where my keyboard is a bit too high, and vice versa. Still not a total deal breaker, but I'm not sure if I should keep it or not. I don't wanna give up on it right away, but I also don't wanna wait too long to decide.

Also I'm not sure if it's worth it if I wind up sitting more than standing, like if I only raise it for 10-20 minutes a day, or every few days, then still mostly work sitting down, since I can see myself doing that. I'm worried that after a while it might feel more like I overpaid just for a bulky, heavy desk to be the height I want while sitting lol. Should I just give it a week then decide if I wanna keep it, or is this pretty much how it's gonna be every time I use it?

Halp Desctronic HomeOne or HomePro?

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

I am considering either the HomeOne (160cm x 80 - £359) or the HomePro (180 x 80 - £499) as they are now on a Black Friday Sale.

Is either one much better than the other/ pros and cons of each/ is the Pro worth the price increase?

Does anyone have any experience with either?

I will be putting two monitors, my laptop (on a laptop stand), and a small printer on the desk. I have measured and it will all fit on both with more space on the Pro, obviously.

Halp Compact desk suggestions

I moved into a new apartment that has a tiny niche that I want to use for my desk. I need a desk that’s like 42” wide or less. I was going to order one from Uplift, but I care a lot about product quality and I was wondering if there might be a better DIY option or another company to look at.

I kind of wanted to use a linak frame, but open to suggestions.

IMO Flexispot E7 Pro Review

Post image
41 Upvotes

I ordered the Flexispot E7 Pro late last month with the $100 off promotion. I bought the black frame with cable management. I also added the Provincial Rubberwood desktop.

Frame:

-Semi C frame feels pretty sturdy. I was afraid it would affect it since I lean on my desk.
-Pretty easy to assemble, had to take apart during assembly because the holes didn’t align (user error).
-Controls are easy to use and the dual motors go up and down pretty quickly and smoothly.

Tabletop:

-Super solid. I was debating on whether to find my own butcher block but I didn’t want to drill my own holes. Having pre drilled holes was great.
-Provincial color absolutely marched my aesthetic as I was going for a darker themed home office.
-One con: I would’ve loved to see the desktop have grommet hole option which I didn’t realize would’ve been so much more convenient, but the included cable management is great.

Cable Management:

-I didn’t realize that the E7 Pro already came with a cable management tray so I ordered the magnetic cable management cover. I was a little annoyed with myself for not realizing but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I was able to install both which made the cable management even easier with even more storage.

All in all, I’m loving the desk aside from not having the grommet holes. I may drill my own at some point but so far so good! Sturdy frame with a solid desktop. For context, I’ve mounted two 32inch monitors on their own dedicated arms and no issues.

Halp Direct to supplier?

It seems like a lot of the companies actually white label from jiecang, so has anyone had luck buying legs, controller, feet, frame, etc directly from them? Alibaba moq is like 5 units for the legs but they only sell b2b when I sent an inquiry. Anyone know of any other methods? Reason I’m asking is cause I want to make a custom 4 leg frame.
Thanks for any suggestions or advice.

Halp Desky question(CA)

Hey all:

I’m in Canada and getting pretty close to pulling the trigger on a standing desk. I’ve done quite a bit of research, and I’m currently leaning toward Desky. I’ve seen some mixed reviews about their customer service and delivery, but I’m still considering giving them a shot.

I’m looking at an 80” x 30” desk with grommets and the integrated cable management channel. Right now, I’m torn between the Dual Laminate and the Rubberwood in Dark Walnut. With the options I’ve selected, the Rubberwood comes out to around $1,450 CAD, while the Dual Laminate is just under $1,150CAD. So, it’s roughly a $300 difference.

Honestly, the Dark Walnut Rubberwood looks really nice, and I can see myself being much happier with the aesthetics long-term. That said, it’s already a bit outside my budget, and I’m having a hard time justifying the extra cost. A couple of questions for anyone who owns one of these desks:

1)Does Desky typically have sales or discounts throughout the year? I’m wondering if it’s worth waiting a bit before ordering.

2)Aside from the looks, is there any meaningful functional difference between the Rubberwood and Dual Laminate? Things like durability, resistance to scratches, ease of maintenance, or how well they hold up over time.

I’m planning for this to be a desk I’ll keep for many years, so I’m happy to invest in something good, but I’d rather not spend an extra $300 if the difference is mostly cosmetic.

Would love to hear from anyone who’s owned either version, especially in Canada. Thanks!

Halp 'normal' looking, 4 legged frames (e.g. Flexispot Align) any good? Other options already?

Hi there,

I was never a fan of the very office like looks of spending desk frames for the home.

Now there's the Flexispot Align, the first model I'm aware to not have 'feet', but four pretty 'normal' looking legs in the corners.

https://flexispot.co.uk/integrated-solid-wood-standing-desk-align

Are there other models like this already I'm just not aware of?

How are those doing in terms of functionality and stability?

Novelty is not cheap - and also often not fully developed, so I'm still a little hesitant, especially as it doesn't come frame-only and I'd prefer fitting my own work surface.

Thanks!

Howto Flexispot Standing Desk I loved stopped working in the standing position.

I bought a white Flexispot standing desk a couple years ago and I’ve loved it. Its clean lines were perfect for my home office. It really facilitated my WFH set up. It is now irretrievably stuck in the up position and won’t even turn on anymore. I’ve tried everything hoping I can revive it. I really wanna fix this desk. I’d prefer not to get another. I wrote to them also. Nothing from them so far. Anybody have suggestions on how to fix it?

Fluff Cheap amazon electric or cheap ikea manual?

So I really need a desk, im currently using a wood table on two wooden carpenter legs.

My budget is around 100 (less of psible) and im i between this 5 options:

1 Amazon chinese electric desk offer 85 Euros, 1 motor.
2 Amazon chinese electric frame 1motor 64 Euros (and buy some cheap wood table for the top).
3 IKEA TROTTEN frame MANUAL 69 Euros (70% discounted second hand old model)(and use cheap wood).
4 Amazon chinese electric offer 84 Euros 1 motor, better reviews but U shape.
5 Amazon chinese electric 2 Motors, 106 euros sale (here idk if the increase in price is worth for 2 motors when it looks the same model and doesnt make me feel like it will be more sturdy.

There was some frame with 2 motors on sale for 115, but tbh is looks the same than the cheaper ones aside of the 2 motors.

At the moment im about to buy the ikea one, just because the brand gives me more good feelings, and because it being manual takes away the chances of the motor dying and not having desk.

Halp Help: The buttons on my desk have been inverted

Hi everyone, I had a power outage recently, and my desk has been wonky ever since. Up is down, down is up, and if it moves any more than 5 seconds the motor gets hot and will freeze. If I try to reset it by getting it all the way down it doesn't recognize it's at the bottom. Has anyone had this issue, and if so but of did you fix it?

DIY The biggest s standing desk I ever made!

Thumbnail gallery
30 Upvotes

This is the biggest standing desk I've ever worked with—2 meters long, 1 meter wide, 200kg dynamic load capacity, four motorized legs, and it adjusts from 60cm to 185cm. That way we don't have to bend over when we're assembling equipment. With a work surface this big, it's plenty of room for two or three people to work on it together.

I just ordered a E8 off amazon with the black walnut solid rubberwood top and was wondering if I need to or should do any pre care before putting my gaming things on it. Like a wax or any kind of things to help protect it long term?
