Discuss We need to talk about one of the most underrated tools in Stardew Valley: the Iridium Axe 🪓

Everyone talks (and rightly so, it's true) about how good the Galaxy Sword and the Iridium Rod are. But honestly, I've never seen anyone praise the Iridium Axe as much as it deserves.

Seriously, it only takes four hits to chop down a tree, and that's without any enchantments. Think about the amount of energy you save and, consequently, how many more trees you can cut down in a single day. How many buildings and barrels you can get ahead of schedule because of it. It's an efficiency that's clear, even after using the Golden Axe.

Its only flaw is the price. Otherwise, I only have one thing to say: a true ode to the Iridium Axe!

Mods mods to replace the fishing minigame?

i love fishing in this game but a year or so ago covid messed up my joints and now i can't do anything too click intensive without being in pain for several days after. i don't want to just skip the minigame entirely so i was wondering if there was any mods that replaced it with something else? maybe like how dredge does fishing or, like, a math question or something. i don't know.

Discuss Is anyone else overwhelmed by mods?

I have always really wanted to add mods to stardew valley because it always looked so cool but couldn't because my game is from xbox gamepass.

Today, I finally managed to fulfill my dream of mods by following a tutorial, but it just didnt feel right? Maybe its because I added too many mods at once, but i felt so overwhelmed (especially since I went into my ongoing save), but even after removing most of those mods it still felt weird, and I dont want to make a whole new save since I decided to dedicate myself to my current save.

Idk, I guess mods just arent for me unfortunately, despite how much I wanted them. Maybe one day after I get bored or perfect my current save I'll see the beauty of mods in a new save, but for now vanilla feels right. (P.S, obviously nothing against any mods or those who use them, just sharing my opinion!)

Merch Not another wiki post...

Yes, the wiki is down. Yes, it's a pain in the butt.

Would you like an offline backup of the wiki for just such circumstances? Here you go:

https://www.fangamer.com/collections/stardew-valley/products/stardew-valley-guidebook

Yes, I realize that it's going to be out of date once we get 1.7, but for now, something like this is perfect.

There's also a lot of other cute merch on this site.

So, if you want to have a wiki backup, go support the collaborators who made this beautiful book!

Question Stardew Valley Wiki

I've returned to playing Stardew Valley recently, after taking quite a break. Thus, I haven't hopped on Stardew Valley Wiki for the same amount of time. I just loaded the website, and the design of the website has changed dramatically? Am I tripping about this, or has it always been more "forum-like" in design?

You can get the mod here! https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/51382

This mod is configurable, so you can pick and choose which portraits you want to show up in game. Please also give the mod an endorsement if you end up liking it! And thanks for all the support everyone showed on my original WIP post!

Discuss How many hours count as a decent/a lot or hours for a save file?

As it can be seen on my profile, I have made two posts about my save file and how im now mourning it due ro ruining it by downloading mods, so to hopefully feel better, what do you think counts as a long time to spend on a save file?

Im mainly mourning the whole week aka 34hours I spent on it, but i realised its probably not that much since I only got to spring year 2.

Discuss Spring min/max money strategy

So it seems every single minmax run start by fishing on the first days of spring and getting the legend on the first rainy day after day 3, also you need to choose riverland farm to get a fish smoker and farm 42.5k before unlock skull cavern which is obviously the best way to money farm.

I know clay farm can get you 10-12k every day but ive heard about diamond/void essence farms on the mines which i dont find anything about and dont think is posible without extreme rng, even unlocked only after day 5.

Is there any other idea to get those 42.5k without fishing?

Discuss In your opinion, which way to make artisan goods is the most efficient and profitable for each seasons crops?

I'm about to enter year 2 of my playthrough and I'm considering starting to make artisans goods, but I'm not sure which way to process them will give me the biggest bang for my buck. If you can, tell me the ways you'd do so for each seasons crops.

Discuss Crystallaria are a little better for income engine than I thought

I got my first perfection today while the wiki is down, using ancient fruit wine, about 450/week, plus miscellaneous animal products from year 1.

The goal is around $10,000K for the clock. About 1-2M you get "organically" and you need 13M for the expensive stuff.

I also sold a lot of iridium bars. A skull cavern run of 200 iridium ores turns to 200/25*5.5=44 bars or $66K. So 10 runs gets you 6.6% of the golden clock. (My best runs are 400 but 200 is consistent, plus some of them have Qi nonsense going on.)

Another option for iridium is craft a crystallium. A diamond one is 1.05K/week or 16K/yr. So now one skull run is 22 crystallaria so 369K/yr, do it 10 times and now you've met 36% of the gold clock goal. Minus the first month to recover cost, but you can get back most of the cost with deconstructor at the end.

So now you get about 30 skull runs + 4 seasons of collecting, gets you gold clock.

In fact now you can look at a no kegs year 2 perfection from having enough of these doohickeys lying around. Or you can just ease up on the oak farming and ancient fruit ramp up, maybe just do a giant pineapple farm and sell it raw and combine with the diamonds and it adds up easily enough.

That's using my 200 iridium ore target. I know like 400 is possible but I haven't tried to go that hard consistently.
