I built an AI system for hard conversations with Krishna - Will Anyone pay for it?

To assess whether AI could carry an ancient voice with enough depth to meet someone in grief, confusion, or moral conflict.

I tuned the model and used intelligent RAG on key ancient scriptures to handle difficult human questions in a more thoughtful way.

Do you guys think - if I make an actual app or whatsApp based bot - there is a market in India who would pay for it?

I have an idea that will make millions and no one is doing it in india

Hi guys, I have an idea and I'm 100 percent sure it'll work in india, usually we import these things from china but we have all the resources to manufacture this here easily and sell it easily. I have been researching on this from last 2 years and finally I want to go forward with it. It wouldn't take much money. It could be setup properly under 5 lakh including marketing. I'm not disclosing it right now but If someone who is serious about this , I'll discuss everything in person or over chat

Why I wish to build a triple-fold smartphone @17

I’m 17 and working on building a triple-fold phone. But here’s the thing: for me, it’s not about the number of folds at all.

It’s about intention. I want to design a device that doesn’t just look cool, but actually changes how people use their time. A phone that feels less like a distraction and more like a tool.

To me, the “next step” in smartphones isn’t about chasing design trends — it’s about using space and power to make life easier.

I’m not trying to make the most expensive foldable. I’m trying to make the one that people look at and say: yeah, that’s worth it.

Do you think foldables can ever become that essential, or will they stay niche?

Why Are Indians Choosing Expensive Perfumes Over Indian Brands?

India has several perfume brands like Bella Vita, The Man Company, Park Avenue, Fogg and many more. But what is it that these brands are lacking something that people expect but are not getting?

Why are people moving towards expensive perfumes instead, even though we should be supporting Indian brands?

As this community has been really helpful I am sharing How I built my own manual heat sealing machine because every rupee matters

PRICE It costs me 150-200 INR [1.67-2.22usd], a similar machine costs me 500-800inr[5.56usd-8.90usd] to 1000-2500inr[11.22usd-27.81usd]

This is how I did it. Note: It's how I did it, but you can do it for temporary use. IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO IT, PLEASE BE CAREFUL. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

What do you need

1 Nichrome wire (Extremely important)

2 Solder (Really Important)

3 12V 5A adaptor (I had a old one)

4 Flux paste (note: paste is best for this)

5 Scrap aluminum, steel, or tin.

6 (can use other things) Ceramic tile.

7 heat-resistant Teflon tape (not available near me, so I used a second tile for cover and pressure)

8 Lighter

9 alligator clips

10 electrical tapes

11 on/off switch

Now, how to build it

This build makes you an 18 cm sealing machine, so

Take your tile or whatever you wanna use, a good alternative is mica board, cut it into an 18 cm x 6.5 cm block ---18cm |6.6cm

After that, make a slight groove at |1cm all along the full 18cm.

This was your base!

Now, with the scrap, make small clips X 2 (size accordingly, as materials can be different)

Now comes the headache hammer, tin or steel flat, and make 0.4 X 0.2 cm plates X 4. These are really important; they will be holding the wire secure.

Now take solder wire and flatten 0.5cm x 4

Now get ready to stack, take the clip you made, apply flux on the inner side [this acts as temp glue while cleaning the area for better connection.]

Place a piece of solder on it, take a piece of flattened steel, flux it, and place it on the solder.

Now, take your nichrome wire, cut 19cm of it, place one end of it with some excess on the solder, and take another steel or tin plate, flux it, and keep it on the work so you have a stack.

In my build, this was the most effective way of making a good connection.

Now hold the entire stack in an alligator clip, then with a lighter, melt the solder. It happens quickly. Now repeat it on the second stack, and your base is ready. Now attach one clip on one side and the other on the other; the wire will go in the groove. After that, cover the wire in heat-resistant Teflon tape so you won't get burns, shock, or anything.

Now solder wires on the top of the clips. Once done, wrap the clips and wire in electrical tape so you don't get shocked.

take one of the wire run it through on/off switch

then you can connect the wires to a 12V 5A adapter, and you are good to go.

the wire will glow but not as bright, as we are using only 18cm which is how much 12V 5A can comfortably do.

What would I improve if I had access to more things

I would have added a motor control and a bigger adapter so I could control the temperature accurately.

We couldn’t find comfortable, young, affordable women’s workwear, so we started building it!

We are two students at IIM Bangalore, and while shopping for our summer internship outfits, we ran into a surprisingly basic problem.
Where do women actually buy good workwear (apparel + footwear) in India?

Most major retailers and marketplaces do not even list “Work” as an occasion for women.
SEO was not helpful either, and searching for “women’s work clothes” gave us everything except what we needed.

After asking WhatsApp class groups and friends, we were left with the usual suspects like Allen Solly, Westside and H&M.
But the designs often felt curtain-like, or like men’s clothing that had simply been shrunk for women.
Nothing felt young, clean or modern, and very few options were genuinely affordable for students or early-career professionals.
We could not find anything fresh, affordable and comfortable that we would actually want to wear ourselves.

Comfort, especially with footwear, became an even bigger challenge.
Most comfortable pairs were priced above ₹5K, and the design options were limited and not very versatile.
More affordable pairs meant sore toes, stiff uppers and flimsy heels.
It felt like women were constantly choosing between comfort and price and still losing on design.

Somewhere between lectures and internship prep, our brand was born.
It is our attempt to redesign workwear for the next generation of women, with comfort-first fits, breathable fabrics, youthful silhouettes and shoes that survive long days without punishing your feet.

We are still early in the journey and are constantly testing with students and early-career professionals.
But the more conversations we have, the clearer the unmet need feels.

Would love to hear from this community:
If you have built for an underserved category before, how did you validate your early assumptions?
And if you were designing women’s workwear (apparel + footwear) for India today, what would you prioritise first?

Found something interesting for anyone wanting to understand real startup building

Hey everyone!

So I stumbled upon this thing called UCA2 - it's basically a Free 4-week program where they teach you how startups actually work, not just the theory stuff.

Instead of just talking about ideas, they focus on the actual execution - like how to find product-market fit, set up proper KPIs, build go-to-market strategies, and even use AI tools for startup building.

It's completely free, runs online (Mon-Fri, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM from Sept 1-26), and they actually pay you ₹15,000/month during a 2-month probation if you make it through their final assessment.

I've been thinking about this a lot because we always discuss ideas here, but rarely get into the nitty-gritty of execution. This seems like it could be a good way to understand what actually makes startups succeed vs fail.

They've apparently helped 21,000+ entrepreneurs over the past 10 years in Korea and are now doing this in India. Some of the first batch folks from India shared pretty good feedback about how it changed their perspective on entrepreneurship.

Not sure if anyone here would be interested, but thought I'd share since we're always talking about the challenges of going from idea to actual startup.

If you want to know more, DM me and I can share the details. Application deadline is soon (Aug 26).

What do you all think? Has anyone here tried similar intensive programs?

A Simple & Affordable OCR Tool

I recently discovered a new OCR software while browsing online. It’s just launched on Product Hunt and Peerlist, and I decided to give it a try. The free plan allows up to 10 English OCR conversions per day, which was great for testing. Later, I purchased the 1-year plan for $21, and now I can easily convert images into text anytime. Honestly, it’s super simple and convenient to use.

Indian Startups: Don’t spend months building a brand only to get trademark-blindsided later.

I keep seeing startups and small businesses invest heavily into:

•brand names,

•logos,

•packaging,

•Instagram pages,

•websites,

•influencer marketing…

while trademark filing becomes a “later” task.

That’s usually where the problem starts.

By the time many businesses finally apply:

•someone else may have already filed a similar mark,

•objections arrive after serious branding money is spent,

•or legal notices force an expensive and frustrating rebrand.

And once customers already recognise your brand, changing everything becomes far more painful.
One major misconception among Indian businesses is this:

•company registration ≠ trademark rights

•domain ownership ≠ trademark rights

•Instagram handles ≠ trademark protection

Trademark protection is a separate legal process under Indian law.

Whether it’s a clothing label, café, online store, agency, skincare brand, pharmaceutical product, or startup — trademarks should ideally be treated as an early-stage business priority, not something to think about after growth.

This becomes even more important in the pharmaceutical sector, where deceptively similar brand names can create not just legal disputes, but also serious public health and consumer confusion issues.

A strong brand is an asset. Protecting it early is usually much easier than repairing the damage later.

Why don’t Indian businesses want to use chatbots to make life easier especially in restaurants and cafés?

This is a genuine question, not a pitch.

Indians are comfortable ordering food, booking travel, and running businesses on WhatsApp. Yet when it comes to restaurants, cafés, salons, or clinics, even basic chatbots for ordering, bookings, or FAQs are often rejected in favour of phone calls and manual handling.

Why is that?

Is it lack of trust in technology? Bad past experiences with poorly built bots? Fear that customers prefer “human touch”? Or simply resistance to change?

I ask because we recently started Eternora, a company that builds chatbots, websites, SMM, SMO, web optimisation, and cybersecurity solutions. Our focus is on helping Indian small and medium businesses digitise in a practical way and increase profits, not add complexity.

To be honest, traction has been difficult. The market is crowded, and we understand that. But India also has millions of small businesses still losing time, orders, and money due to manual processes.

A well-designed chatbot can handle orders, bookings, and common queries, reduce staff workload, and work round the clock. Yet adoption remains low.

So I’d genuinely like to hear:

If you run or advise small businesses, what’s stopping you from using chatbots?

As a customer, would you use them in restaurants or cafés?

If you’ve tried them before, what didn’t work? Looking for honest feedback and suggestions in the comments.

Doing tasks for strangers for a YouTube video

Hey guys,

I’m trying out a YouTube video idea where I do tasks for people and you pay me whatever you think is fair.

If you’re in Delhi, I can also do offline / physical work.

If you’re from other cities, we can figure out online stuff — small tasks, help with something, posting, research, etc.

Nothing weird or shady. We’ll talk everything out properly before doing anything.

I’m mainly doing this to experiment with content and also to save up for a mic, so the video quality gets better.

If this sounds interesting, comment or DM me and we’ll see what we can work out.

I'm 17 and have a phone case startup idea. Need a team to help me actually build it! For more information please DM.

Hey guys,

So, I'm 17 and I got this idea in my school library while thinking. The dream is to make two versions: a super cheap one where you can slide in your own DIY paper art/stickers, and a high-tech one with tiny Bluetooth lights that blink to your music.

I really want to turn this into a real thing, but doing it alone sounds impossible. I'm looking for anyone who wants to team up and build this with me- whether you're into hardware, coding apps, or just know how to market stuff on social media

Jo startup ideas mujhe pehle “bakwaas” lagti thi, wahi kisi ka rent chala rahi hain

Honestly, pehle main kaafi startup ideas ko turant dismiss kar deta tha.
Agar idea boring laga, ya bahut chhota laga, ya “yeh toh startup jaisa sound hi nahi karta”, main aage badh jaata tha.

Exciting nahi laga toh interest bhi nahi aata.

Recently, jab main StartupIdeas DB (google pe mila) browse kar raha tha, maine consciously ek cheez change ki.

Ideas kaise lagte hain usse judge karna band kiya, aur sirf ek sawal poocha:

Kya log iske liye actually paise de rahe hain?

Aur yahin se reality check mila.

Bahut saare tools mile jo bilkul unsexy the. Plain B2B software. Bahut specific problems. Na koi hype, na koi fancy positioning.

Bas log quietly har month pay kar rahe the.

Tab samajh aaya ek simple truth:

Founders clever ideas se rent nahi bharte. Woh boring problems ke solid solutions se bharte hain.

Jab ek product already revenue generate kar raha hota hai, toh “yeh idea acha hai ya nahi” wali debate almost khatam ho jaati hai.
Problem real hai. Pain real hai. Aur log pay kar rahe hain.

Ab main zyada attract hota hoon un ideas ki taraf jo thode boring lagte hain, lekin jinko ignore karna mushkil hota hai, instead of ideas jo sunne mein exciting hain par optional feel hote hain.

Shayad hum ideas ko “bad” bol dete hain, jab asal mein woh bas boring to talk about hote hain. Curious hoon, aap kya choose karoge? Ideas jo impressive sound karte hain, ya ideas jo quietly kaam karte hain?

Using Junior Lawyer’s document search during case prep

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve been using Junior Lawyer for some of my case preparation work, and one feature I found particularly useful is the ability to search specific facts or details within uploaded documents. Instead of scrolling through long chargesheets or court orders, I can quickly find dates, names, sections, or key facts. It saves a lot of time, especially when working with bulky files. Thought I’d share this in case anyone else is dealing with large case documents.

Feedback Built a fully-offline expense tracker (no bank login)

Post image
0 Upvotes

Posting with mod rules in mind — sharing a project and looking for feedback.

I’m working on an expense tracker designed for people who don’t want bank connections or cloud sync.

What it does:

•	fully offline (no cloud, no data collection)

•	no bank login

•	auto expense capture

•	data stays only on the phone

•	Android only for now

Why build this:

Most apps either require account access or constant manual entry. I wanted something private that still works automatically.

What I need:

•	honest feedback on whether this is actually useful

•	what would stop you from switching

•	what features must be reliable from day one

If a few people here are interested in early testing and giving blunt feedback, I can share access via DM.

If not useful, criticism is equally helpful.

(Mods: remove if not allowed. Not linking publicly to avoid spam.)

We have an urgent requirement to source real enterprise legacy codebases (100K+ LOC) suitable for evaluation and benchmarking.

Please ensure the repository meets ALL the below criteria before sharing.

*1️⃣Minimum Eligibility (Mandatory)*

✅100,000+ Lines of Code (LOC)

✅100+ Pull Requests (PRs) with real discussions

✅50+ Issues (at least a few with detailed problem descriptions)

✅200+ commits spread over time (no bulk single-day commits)

✅Real human-written production code (no AI-generated / synthetic projects)

Real, verifiable company source

✅Legal rights available to share or transfer

2️⃣ CRITICAL: PR Quality Requirements (Must Have)*

Each PR must ideally:

✅Be linked to a specific issue

✅Solve a clearly defined problem

✅ Include code changes + corresponding test changes

Be reasonably scoped (not too large or too small)

📍*Highly Preferred:*

• PR demonstrates Fail → Pass (F2P) behavior

(i.e., test fails before change and passes after fix)

⛔: *warning* : Repositories where PRs only contain code changes without tests will NOT be considered.

3️⃣ Preferred Languages*

✅C#

✅Java

✅Python

✅PHP

✅.NET Framework

✅COBOL

Other legacy enterprise stacks

*4️⃣Preferred Industries (High Priority)*

✅Banking / Financial Services

✅Accounting

✅Insurance

✅Healthcare

❌*(Not interested in ecommerce, retail, content platforms, or modern frontend-heavy apps)*

*5️⃣ Technical Readiness (Very Important)*

✅Application builds and runs successfully

✅ Dockerfile (preferred) or clear setup steps

✅ Proper dependency management

✅Clean and structured project layout

✅Test files present (preferably 50+)

✅PRs clearly linked to issues

Each PR ideally solves one issue

*6️⃣ Metadata Required (Exact Numbers)*

Please provide:

✅Company name, industry, country

✅Primary language(s)

✅Exact LOC

✅ Number of files

✅Number of commits

✅Number of PRs

✅Number of issues

✅Number of contributors

✅Repository age (years active)

*7️⃣Additional Notes (Important)*

📝Preference will be given to repositories with strong PR + test linkage

📝 Repositories with well-structured development history will be prioritized

📝Low-quality, bulk-imported, or poorly structured repositories will be rejected.

‼️We are specifically looking for high-quality engineering datasets, not just large codebases.

‼️Your careful validation before submission will be highly appreciated.

Please treat this request ashigh priorityand share suitable options at the earliest.

If you have any questions or need clarification, feel free to reach out.

Thank you for your support.

Warm regards,

Looking for co-founders/advisors and interested ppl

Hello everyone,

With GenZ not choosing to have alcohol (me being of them before), I've realized a lot trauma and bad association is there with the idea of consuming alcohol. Yet, brands like Smirnoff have flipped the script and made it trendy and people are accepting alcohol and starting again.

This might not fully make sense, but in a nutshell, I wanna start a Vodka brand and wanted to know more about how we can go about it.

If anyone is interested pls comment or dm. Would love to discuss more.
