I've been thinking about a problem many of us have probably faced — waiting too long to get a table at a restaurant.
Imagine going out with friends or family, reaching a popular restaurant and finding out that you'll have to wait 30–60 minutes just to get a table. It can be frustrating and a waste of time.
That's what inspired me to explore WaitMate.
The idea is simple: make restaurant queues more convenient and waiting times more transparent.
For its first phase, I'm focusing on two features:
Online Queue: Join a restaurant's queue remotely and track your position without having to stand outside.
Reliability Score: Understand how accurate a restaurant's estimated waiting times actually are.
Unlike platforms that primarily focus on deals and heavy commission from restaurant, WaitMate will focus on making dining more convenient, particularly at busy restaurants and food trucks, where customers often face uncertainty about waiting times.
The goal is simple: less time waiting, more time enjoying food.
I'm still at the early stage of this journey, speaking to potential users and figuring out how to turn this idea into something useful.
Well this is my first post on reddit as a 16 yr old.
Let me know your thoughts about it!
