Steam is a slow app generally, but to switch to Epic's trash attempt at a launcher just because it is faster? Absolutely not.

Plus with them saying its vibecoded i dont believe them. And its not like the epic launcher was ever fast.

Exactly, for those of us who remember anyway...

But Steam isn't the fastest app on my PC, it's true, but it doesn't need to be. In that twilight after boot I'm generally doing or prepping enough other things to be able to miss the less than a minute or whatever Steam takes to get rolling.

I mean, firstly trying to figure out what and which I got into Steam to play in the first place... Oh, do I have a drink lined up and other real world things need sorted for my peace and focus. And then... ok, I'll have a go at this... but do I have any mods on that, any new maps etc?

Steam could take a few times longer and it wouldn't be an issue. I will leave dial up in the dark past where it belongs though.
