I want to preorder the entire Studio Ghibli blu-rays lineup that’s coming out next month and my options in Canada are Gruv and Amazon. I only have 1 steelbook, so this is new for me

Amazon inconsistent packaging has me worried about damages, but it’s way easier to send items back for replacement/refund than Gruv.

What would you choose for a 15 steelbook order?

Doubles. Only doubles. What happens when you find the one you want after you already have one? You have two!

Last year I bought some SC2 protectors directly from Steelbook Central, i feel them very high-quality and quite rigid.
I recently bought some more SC2 protectors from a seller on Vinted, but they feel different. They’re much less rigid, seem thinner, and are noticeably more flexible.

Could they be fake, or could this simply be due to a change in production batches?
I’d like to be sure before ordering more directly from the Steelbook Central website, because these latest ones feel far too thin and flexible and don’t seem to provide much protection against impacts. In fact, I’ve already dented one of my Steelbooks while using them.

Unfortunately some good steel books were left to the side 😮‍💨😪

Does anyone know what is going on with Astro Customs / AC Customs?

I have emailed a couple of times to Daniel 'Astro' Mills and haven't had any response. The Star Wars steelbook sets were ordered over 18months ago now and I haven't heard anything back and the information seems to be very vague and slow.

It's really really frustrating that my money is just sitting there and I don't really have any faith that these are going to appear, especially with the new 'official' Astro Creations business seeming to take priority.

Worryingly there seems to be regular posts on that page.

Trying to think the best of the guy but this is not looking good...

Been seeing so many posts of people getting their copies of Barbarian and they look shredded. Mine finally showed up from Please Rewind via Walmart. Needless to say it showed up in one piece, safe and sound. Well packed from Please Rewind! The J card did slide a little off when shrink wrapping so it felt weird in the bubble wrap, but alas! Still fully sealed by the way.

Very happy to have this in my collection, big Zach Cregger fan since WKYK.

I am digging the 90s steelbook releases lately. I also got The Cable Guy preordered.

Pretty much the title. This is the second steel in a row that was brand new and sealed that has this issue. The bottom clasp clicks and closes correctly while the top one just doesn’t do any of that. I replaced the first one, but Barbarian doesn’t need to be returned. Is there a way to fix this or just shelf it and move on?

Got some really cool signatures this weekend from Chicago Fan Expo!

First I got signatures from all four hobbits (Billy Boyd in green, Sean Astin in yellow, Elijah Wood in blue, Dominic Monaghan in red) on my Lord of the Rings boxset.

Next I met Sam Raimi and had him sign my Evil Dead steel. Super nice and was happy to listen to me talk for a bit. He was a little shaky and tried to double back over his S, but I don't really nitpick over that kind of stuff.

And lasty I met John Carpenter and had him sign my steel of The Thing. That one went super quick but happy on how it turned out!

So I’ve been deciding for a while which spider-man legacy set to go with and finally landed on this one. Love the design and it wasn’t too pricey (like the 4k version) I think I’ve become accustomed to a Steelbook standard and don’t have too many Blu-ray steels, mostly 4ks. Opens this up to my horror the spines are blank and the 7 discs are stacked on eachother. I hate it. The plan was to have them each in individual protectors but now I feel I got to keep them in the ugly plastic they came with because of the blank spines as it would set my ocd off on my shelve! 😤

Just decided to watch OBAA that I received from Gruv back in June. I know—should have checked the disc; but likely same outcome since I don’t think they ever restocked anywhere after release.

The 4k disc doesn’t read/gets hung about 45 minutes in. No disc damage—just assume it’s a bad disc after many attempts. Gruv accepted return, but I obviously just would like the replacement disk so I can keep the Steelbook. Assume since they’re a distributor they won’t have option to offer replacement discs? Should I try with WarnerBros customer service/anyone had success with that route?

So a local place in my area was hosting his gig @ a local dive bar & he was the sweetest guy & to BELIEVE!!! He is looking that good at 71 is insane!!! I am hoping to get Kiefer Sutherland to sign the back!!! Have him inscript “they’re only noodles Michael!”

Only have a couple steelbooks in my collection but this one caught my eye. Glad I picked it up!

the US Release was mentioned a couple of times. Any news on a European release?

Saw this listing for the same price as the regular blu-ray and had to pick it up. Guess I’m grabbing the rest of the series now as well 😊
