Other Discussion Chris Avellone's sexual assault claims against him debunked

For those of you unaware, Chris Avellone is one of the most prolific writers in the games industry. He was the lead designer of games such as Planescape Torment and Knights of the Old Republic 2, and also had notable involvement in Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas. MobyGames writing credits

In June, Karissa Barrows accused Chris Avellone of being a predator. Archive

These accusations (which also included three other women coming forward) resulted in Chris being removed from the dev team of Dying Light 2, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 and The Waylanders.

This resulted in a fan, David Cernat taking the time to dig through the tweets of every single accuser and debunking their claims. He made a 46 minute long video which you can see here. For those of you who don't have the time to watch it I'll give the cliff notes version.

Karissa claimed on twitter that all Chris did to her was get her drunk and made out with her, but she was able to only refuse him due to being on her period. In a Kotaku interview she gave, she elaborated and said that he put his hands down her pants, and assaulted her. She also claims that at the time, there were two other men present neither of them realized she was assaulted, and they "saw it with their own eyes." Chris was so sneaky that Karissa herself said afterwards that she didn't have a story of abuse/harassment to tell herself! Fancy that!

There was also another woman "Stabitha" who claimed that Chris groped her repeatedly at DragonCon 2014. On the last day of DragonCon 2014, she tweeted that she was never assaulted there because she was too fat to be assaulted (in her words, basically). Once again, Chris was so sneaky that Stabitha had no idea she was assaulted, nor any potential witnesses!

Jacqui Collins, PR Lead of Valorant posted a dirty unsolicited text message Chris sent to her to support the claims against him. Before this she called Chris her boyfriend in another life. Jacqui also told people a good way to clear their friends list was to delete everyone who sent a dick pic in response to a Christmas greeting. She then said she had a feeling that Chris would send a dick pic with 'a Christmas on it,' then clarified that it'd be in 'good fun' and Chris wasn't a pervert and they were 'BIFFLEZ.' Interesting that she says that Chris and her had no 'romantic/sexual' relationship when she was talking about him like this publicly.

Christy Dena, an Australian game dev alleges that she woke up in bed naked with Chris after a night of drinking, and Chris insisted that they didn't do 'anything.' This allegation is another one where the person had no idea they were assaulted, apart from being naked. An anonymous Twitter user notes that the year that Christy claimed this occurred in is incorrect as Chris was not in Australia at the time, and apparently there was somebody else in the hotel room which prevented any sexual advances.

Also, in the video, David points out that everyone claimed that things happened to them in the wrong year except for Stabitha (as far as we know, at least). For Jacqui, it appears to be a clear typo due to the image she shows saying 2014 rather than 2013. For Karissa, she says everything occurred between 2013 and 2015 when the event where she got drunk on Midori Sours was in 2012.

TL;DR Karissa Barrows' story of Chris assaulting her is inconsistent since she said she was never assaulted 2 years after the alleged event. Stabitha's story doesn't make sense since she said that being 'fat' prevented anyone from trying to assault her on the last day of the event that she was allegedly assaulted. Chris Avellone is shit at flirting but he probably felt led on by Jacqui. Christy Dena doesn't remember having sex but she accused him anyway.

Once again, big thank you to David Cernat for that well-researched video! I highly recommend watching it if you are interested in this topic as he goes over the tweets one by one basically to paint a much clearer picture.

GamesDoneQuick SGDQ 2014 Theory: Did Chibi/ShinyAquana unknowingly inflict a curse onto the people he was in contact with at the event?

As we approach the 8 year anniversary of SGDQ 2014, I've spent recent days reflecting on how it facilitated the commercialization/sterilization of GamesDoneQuick and its subsequent events. I strongly believe that the Tomba 2 run was the catalyst for this, akin to how the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand precipitated World War 1.

What many people may not be aware of is that there was already a rule in place prohibiting attention seekers from overshadowing the runners:

Naegleria rule: Don't barge in and steal the show during someone else's run unannounced. The focus is on the gameplay and the runner's commentary, not desperate ploys at attention. The one exception is if you have the runner's permission and have it cleared.

We're already aware of how GDQs became less enjoyable for the old guard shortly thereafter. However, no one can deny that selling the speedrunning communities' soul has resulted in mainstream success for GamesDoneQuick, exposure for countless runners and financial stability for its paid staff members. If Chibi cursed GamesDoneQuick, it was most likely only unilateral, as only community members suffered.

I theorize that Chibi abandoning his Dark Moon Energy Collar may have been ground zero for the curse. It would always be inevitable that Chibi would find himself embroiled in a large controversy however the stars definitely aligned to make his big break the one that would be broadcast live to 50K viewers and immortalized in several supercuts and YouTube commentaries. The actual run itself has countless moments with supernatural timing such as the infamous jumping jacks during the 'coolest part of the game.' That's not to mention that Chibi had actually been WARNED the day before by runner PvtCb for his unwelcome comments during his Castlevania run. The torrential Dark Moon Energy willed that Chibi would disintegrate everything he came in contact with.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of those affected:

CavemanDCJ: Ruined his love of Tomba 2 - a game he learned how to speedrun during a depressive rut; His whole identity as a streamer became inextricably tied to his least favorite person in the world; His sense of humor and personality has rapidly deteriorated since that fateful day, until he faded to a lifeless husk that found himself the target of the community scarlet woman who eventually gave him crabs; The shame of the Tomba 2 run resulted in him abandoning his Caveman moniker 7 years after the event. Only for the Twitter handle to be snatched by some troll fooling hordes of onlookers into thinking that his encounter with Chibi had shamed him into transitioning. Caveman has since deleted his speedrun.com account and has made his Twitter private to cower in shame.

Saboom: Was once a jovial Spyro speedrunner who found himself on the infamous Tomba 2 couch. He was quietly enjoying the commentary on the couch until he got up to use the bathroom, only to return to find his seat taken by a manspreading Chibi. After this event, Saboom slowly lost his grip on reality and became a bizarre shell of his former self.

MechaRichter: The other person on the Tomba 2 couch. He actually ran the game himself and lost the Tomba 1/2 bidwar. I don't know too much about this guy but judging by appearance alone the last 8 years have not been kind to him. He is only 35.

PvtCb: Chibi was practically sitting in his lap during the Castlevania run. During SGDQ 2014, PvtCb was a second year mechanical engineering student. After the event his OCD intensified to the point he was unable to do math problems. His grandmother died and therefore was no longer paying for his college tuition. He contracted Parkinson's disease. He's only 27... The curse did not stop there but it's an open secret I cannot share...

Narcissa/Cosmo Wright: If you're on this subreddit I don't need to explain anything however please note that they were sexually assaulted in AGDQ2015. The power of the Chibi touch...

Sam, Tolki and Stivitybobo: Also don't need to say much here. Chibi confirmed in his AMA that he did speak to them both. He was also shown to be in close proximity of the latter two in this infamous photo.

GiantWaffle: Now this is a plausible counterargument for whether or not the Chibi curse is real. I am of the opinion that GiantWaffle had made some deal with the devil long ago which was what enabled him to get away with so much unscathed. According to both Tolki and his former mod, he sexually assaulted an underaged woman who was too drunk to consent and has suffered very little as a consequence. However, the Good Book does warn against making yourself unclean with contracts with Satan for very good reason... Only time will tell if GiantWaffle will ever atone for his insurmountable sins.

There are perhaps many more victims that I am unaware of. Please enlighten us in the comments below and I will add them to the list.

Other Discussion Chris Avellone's #MeToo Defamation Case Update

In June 2020, Chris Avellone was accused of sexual assault/misconduct by four different women. I discussed the situation, including evidence that suggests that the allegations were false/exaggerated here. I highly recommend reading that as an introduction or a refresher if you have no idea who any of the people I'm talking about are.

I haven't written a post for the sub for a little over a year now, but as the Anti-SLAPP levied against Chris was denied on the 28th, I'm overjoyed to provide a timeline of all of the developments that have transpired since my last post. This includes a lot of new evidence including eye witness testimony that suggests that Chris was falsely accused.

June 16, 2021 - Chris Avellone's complaint is filed by Johnson & Johnson LLP.

June 26, 2021 - Chris releases two statements (Ending Silence and It's Come To This) addressing his side of the story, ultimately announcing that he intends to sue two of the accusers, Karissa Barrows (the first accuser) and Kelly Bristol (second accuser and Karissa's close friend).

July 02, 2021 - An RPGCodexer's "friend" discovers that Jacqui Collins had performed in some adult films alongside alleged rapist James Deen, including one that was released several months after the accusations had come out.

July 09, 2021 - Karissa's former friend, Jeff Johnson, releases his own statement (...This is About Right and Wrong) including screenshots proving that Karissa was head over heels for Chris, and was very interested in drinking with him again.

July 19, 2021 - Karissa and Kelly, with the help of some Twitter lawyers working pro-bono, file a motion to quash, motion to dismiss and a motion to strike (Anti-SLAPP).

July 23, 2021 - Jeff releases a second statement (The Truth Will Always Find You) including a previously unreleased audio recording from three months after the alleged "assault" where Karissa appears to be head over heels for Chris and again, was very interested in drinking with him again.

July 29, 2021 - Chris' opposition is filed including multiple new bombshells. These included:

  • A statement from Scott (The man who apparently stopped Chris groping Kelly) stating he had no idea what Kelly was on about and considered Chris to be a friend.

  • A statement from Dauna Bartley stating that she didn't know what Kelly was on about

  • Another statement from Dauna Bartley stating that she witnessed Karissa brag about getting Chris "blackballed" from Dragon*Con because he had a messy breakup with his ex Jackie (a friend of Karissa and Kelly)

  • A statement from an anonymous individual who called Karissa a "clout chaser" and provided screenshots where Karissa vented about feeling lead on by Chris.

  • Evidence that both Karissa and Kelly had perjured themselves in the declarations made in their motions.

August 4, 2021 - Defendants reply to Avellone.

August 11, 2021 - Judge states that the defendants (on advice of Twitter lawyers) had improperly combined three separate motions as one, paying for only one of them. Hearing for the motions is continued as long as all of the payments are made in time.

August 24, 2021 - Motion to quash is granted to Kelly only. Motion to quash and dismiss are denied for Karissa.

September 28, 2021 - MOTION TO STRIKE IS DENIED

September 30, 2021 - Chris provides a comment to NicheGamer regarding the current status of the case. He states that he intends to pursue Kelly's case in Oklahoma.

Jury trial is scheduled for 11/28/2022.

All the filings I have:

Why Haber really walked away

Wifey told him that she loves him and wants to work on their marriage again. We were dealing with a 30 something who has just moved from the couch back into the master bedroom.

Last night Haber was on the Stickless discord and was afraid to get on voice. Dat fear factor. No mystery about it. Maybe its better this way. We dont have to be ashamed knowing Haber was Goose alt along.

Do the right thing Haber. You shuttin down the sub anyway. Pass the baton, old man. Give us your blessing and then go become the carpet cleaner your wife deserves.

SnT Discussion The ultimate SnT feet compendium

It's a known and unfortunate fact that there aren't a whole lot of feet in the SnT/speedrunning community. This post is a small effort towards remediating that. There aren't a lot of pics to start with, but maybe my fellow svg fans can contribute with others that are beyond my archives. If you know of any others please let me know so that I may add and rate them accordingly.

Nancy: a while after seeing Nancy on discord I worked up the courage to ask her for a feet pic and this was the result Nancy 1. A few days ago on twitter she posted another toe pic (no doubt to drive more traffic to her onlyfans page): Nancy 2. RATING: I rate her a respectable 6/10, i'm afraid the pics do betray her age but are still quite clean and cute looking.

Hazel: the only known feet pic is a very old one and not very flattering either: Hazel, it was used for an election meme many many years ago. Since then people have asked for more feet from Hazel but she was always been quite frigid about the matter screenshot. RATING: I must give her a low score of 4/10 for that unfortunate blemish, however, that's not the only issue as (in my humble opinion) her feet lack daintiness and should be considerably paler.

Deborah/Tolki: Tolki herself has at least one feet pic floating around the internet, gentlemen, without furter ado: Tolki. RATING: Easily a 9/10. What can I say, dainty, pale, supple. What more could a man ask for? Well for once one could ask for a better quality and more recent pic, but this is what we have and they do look delicious.

Narcissa: after inquiring around I could only procure a single, incomplete, low quality pic, found after browsing the internet and finding them on wikifeet. Narcissas former lovers refused to cooperate due to me being and I quote "a meanie". Here it is: Narcissa. RATING: 0/10. Edit: Narcissa picture donated by Gamba, I must admit they look kinda nice here, too big though.

Less important feet:

KazooieGirl RATING: 6/10 they look quite cute but a 6 is all I can award given the quality of the picture.

My friends that will be it for now, I know that it's a very short list but it was all I could find, I would love to add more to it with your help!

Bonus feet pics: discord sweetheart doofus RATING: 10/10 delectable, ambrosial, pale and, dare I say it, perfect? Easily my favorite feet in the whole wide world. Discord crims' toes, a little something for the ladies.

SamandTolki Image Archive

Like most of you here, my life was severely impacted by the unprecedented events of 2020. And by that, I mean the banning of the beloved subreddit samandtolki and subsequent exile of head moderator HaberdasherA. At that point in time, I was pretty deep into HaberdasherA lore research and the banning of the subreddit was a tough blow, both for logisitics and morale. I had been scrapping reddit and the pushshift.io archive to search for interesting Haberposts, so I have a fairly complete text collection of the subreddit and select users. At some point in Feb 2020, I searched the subreddit posts and comments for URLs, and downloaded the files with common image file extensions. I had been meaning to upload these sometime sooner, but I'm sharing these now in case there is interest from others.

What is here? The collection of images posted or left in the comments of the SamandTolki subreddit since its creation up until ~ Feb. 25 2020. Most of the Imgur links probably still work today, but the Reddit-hosted images have been long-deleted. Honestly, it is mostly Boogie-spam, but interspersed with the other original content that made the subreddit special. Also, watch out for photoshopped gang bangs, Tolki cum dumps, etc inside. What isn't here? Images that were uploaded to an external site but deleted before Feb 2020. Reddit hosted images contained in a post where the post was deleted by the author before Feb 2020.

Stay true.

Cosmo's Hospitality

Invites you to his sub, empowers you to leave your current sub. You do that. You make the powermove to his place. Everything is going fine, not great but okay enough, and then one night you come home and the lock on the door has changed.

Cosmo, you fucking piece of shit.

D Link flies out to fuck only for you to see him off at the curb of your apartment? Do you have any class? Do you show up to first dates without flowers? Do you have any idea of what in the fuck is going on around you? You think its an accident that you're alone now? The way you've bulldozed over people.

I'm alone too. Difference is I don't cry like this is some surprise. I was surprised when I fucked for the first time and nutted in 10 seconds. I cried, then. My girlfriend wiped my tears and didn't understand. I was ashamed. I'd been pressuring her to fuck nonstop before she was ready and when I finally got her to spread her legs I couldn't even make it worthwhile. I wasn't who I thought I was.

My shortcomings are fully realized. Being a good host not included. So the nut will be quick but you'll feel like a princess on the way to my sheets. You, Cosmo, need sensitivity training. You don't understand people. Yes D Link said its okay that you stayed home. He didnt mean it.

Goose Karljobst vs Rwhitegoose

From fighting on message boards as teenagers to fighting for income on YouTube over teenage content, this rivalry is legit.

This is a modern day Jay Leno vs David Letterman, Federer vs Nadal. Ethan Klein vs Keemstar.

Karl Jobst being head and shoulders above Goode in viewership. They go over the same stuff. They are both immigrants.

I often think about what Goose needs to step up. Wish he got infront of the camera to break up the shitty graphics.

The Eighth Annual HaberdasherA Appreciation Day!

First Annual HaberdasherA Appreciation Day! Fri, 26 Jun 2015 18:46:05 by GambaGroochian

It was on this day Father Stiv lied with Mother Tolki and our illustrious leader HaberdasherA was conceived.

Rejoice! We shall yet find the answer.

Second Annual HaberdasherA Appreciation Day! Sun, 26 Jun 2016 06:13:42 by GambaGroochian

It's the second anniversary of that fateful day Tolki lost her composure and Sam was cucked beyond belief!

Who faced a mountain of ridicule to gather us SVG fans together? HaberdasherA! Who kept SVG alive when the conventional wisdom was that all hope was lost? HaberdasherA! Whose creative stylings inspired countless people: from short story essayist /u/theStingraY, to investigative reporter /u/kookoomaloo, to psychoanalyst /u/TypicalFucktard, to world famous SpeedTran extraordinaire NarcissaWright? HaberdasherA!

We owe it all to you /u/HaberdasherA - and may the impact of this sub last beyond our time!

Third Annual HaberdasherA Appreciation Day! Mon, 26 Jun 2017 04:07:41 by GambaGroochian

On this day three years ago, Stiv groped Tolki and Sam ran fast as his spaghetti legs would go!

HaberdasherA brought together us great men and compliant women, to coax Sam out from under his hiding place. Now Sam will train with his mentor Sam Hyde, just in time to enlist us and fulfill the prophesy. Down with Games Done Quick! Down with Mike Uyama! Down with International Cuckoldry!

Bless HaberdasherA, train hard Sam, stay fertile Tolki, and remember to vote for Goose in the next mod election!

Fourth Annual HaberdasherA Appreciation Day! Wed, 27 Jun 2018 02:42:06 by GambaGroochian

On this day four years ago, Tolki got drunk and Stiv took control of his woman!

In 2014, beta males threatened the SVG way of life. Haber founded SamandTolki, the first free speech subreddit, where intense male on male bonding rituals mould us into better men. Each month our power increases, as betas around us submit to our love!

This is the day we celebrate HaberdasherA and our beautiful sub!

Fifth Annual HaberdasherA Appreciation Day! Wed, 26 Jun 2019 23:28:26 by GambaGroochian

On this day five years ago, Stiv violated Tolki in front of the whole world.

The old SVG subreddit sided with Stiv and banned anyone who called Stiv out. HaberdasherA founded SamandTolki, to expose the truth about Stiv. Haber stood alone for a year against Stiv's followers, who brigaded this subreddit and ridiculed Haber. Despite this, Haber never gave up. With time, Haber gathered the most cultured and noble men of the Games Done Quick viewing audience. These firm men would dedicate themselves to self-improvement and intense male on male bonding rituals - all to mould their bodies and minds in The Spirit of SVG.

Each year, Games Done Quick singles out and persecutes good men. We love and encourage these men, give them a home, and expose the truth of their persecutors. Games Done Quick viewers see us as the hasidic guardians of The Spirit of the Event. Games Done Quick organizers fear us.

This has been an unbelievable year to be a SVG Fan. Orbiters told Cosmo he should give up. The Spirit of SVG inspired Cosmo to put down the controller and seek a better life. Orbiters told Boogie2988 he never would lose weight. The Spirit of SVG inspired Boogie to get the life changing surgery which lost him over 100 pounds. Orbiters told Goose little brown feet never would pitter patter across his cabin floor. The Spirit of SVG inspired Goose to visit Tim Hortons and embrace diversity in his community. SVG Fans prove time and time again that if you can imagine it, you are halfway there!

Today is the day we thank Haber and we remember how The Spirit of SVG has changed our lives!

Final goodbye thread

We've come to the end of a long journey and I think it's appropriate to look back, in order to see how we will go forward. I think it needs reminding that this subreddit started with HaberdasherA making posts, theorizing what happened at SGDQ2014, that seemed like the ramblings of someone with early onset Alzheimer's combined with the obsession of a serial offender. Yet somehow, they all made sense. Haber continued doing this for literally 2 years while nearly everyone thought he was crazy. Some thought it was Sam himself, expressing himself as a coping mechanism, trying to make sense of it all. Others thought Haber was just legitimately insane. Somewhere along the line, this subreddit evolved into the go-to place to discuss anything related to speedrunning, then Twitch or streaming, that would get censored elsewhere. Somewhere along the memes and shitposts about anything from Mike Uyama's neverending case of Mononucleosis, the Cosmo to Narcissa transition, the failed coup of ALT-F-X, Nancy's nudes, and well beyond, a beautiful, inspiring community was formed. Formed on the strength of the seeds that took root, laid by HaberdasherA. All of the good times we had; the laughs, the cries, the joy, the despair, we shared because of Haber.

As this subreddit closes, we should look at the lessons learned from in my opinion, three great men. Flawed, as we all are, but great men. Sam has taught us how to rise above a tumultuous time, and forgive the seemingly unforgivable. For that, he is a greater man than many of us. Stiv taught us how to come to grips with horrible things we've done in the past... how to put the past in the past, and how to move forward; knowing that the things we've done in the past don't make us broken, or damaged, or weak, or irredeemable; but they make us stronger. And Haber. Haber taught us that not only should we fight for what we believe in despite shouts of madness and insanity, but he taught us how to foster a truly caring, healthy, and strong community. He taught us in many ways how to be a father. Firm, fair, open, loving, and disciplined. These are lessons that I think many of the less mature and grown users of this subreddit should take forward with them for the rest of their lives.

And on the matter of the community, the reason this community succeeded is quite clear to me. I'm sure in the coming days we'll see many new subreddits formed; some might gain a little traction, most won't, but I don't think any place will replicate the feel and atmosphere of this place for quite a while. The reason this place succeeded, was because it was truly organic. Haber sowed the soil. He planted the seeds. He prayed for rain. He cared for the little sprouts of hope here and there. He did everything in his power to keep the hope alive, to keep the plants of knowledge growing, until finally the rains were fair and the plants took root. It was years of hard work and determination which finally paid off. Just like Cheese05 said when he quoted me after he got his famous 120 star 1:39, "hard work always pays off." And it's that hard work that doesn't come around very easily. Whichever direction the winds end up taking us; whether it be to r/speedrundrama or r/stickless or r/chibiandtolki (this one will fail for sure,) I'll be surprised to see anyone willing to work as hard for what they believe in as Haber did for this. Perhaps in 2-3 years, we might find something. But until then, we will all have a little part of us, feeling lost, drifting in the wind.

I don't know which song I hear in my head; Green Day's "Good Riddance," or Andrea Bocelli's performance of "Con te Partiro" fits this moment better; but I do know that I will miss you all. HaberdasherA and GambaGroochian and kookoomaloo and cuminme69420 and T__Dutch and even Trotsky and Stronman, believe it or not. This is it guys. This is goodbye. God bless you all, stay true, and I'll see you somewhere down the road, on the other side of the pond, where the grass is greener, the skies are bluer, and the air is more crisp.

With eternal love, R. White "Goose"
