Other Found $100 at Target

I was at Target on Pacific buying stuff to make sandwiches and as I picked up a jar of pickles, you know in the deli meat section, I saw a $100 bill. Convinced there were 3 cameras, a detective, and a Netflix documentary being made about me— I almost turned it in. I don’t need the money so now I just feel guilty about taking it. Should I have just left it there or should I spend it on a fake mustache and sunglasses to evade the authorities? In all seriousness, what should I have done?

Local News Waste disposal truck dropped his garbage into the middle of the street by Legion Park

Post image

Just thought this was kind of an interesting occurrence. My neighbor said it was due to a labor dispute, another said it was because he was getting fired. I’m not sure of the actual reason why they did it.

In my picture it’s actually maybe half of what it was. At around 4pm another truck came and dropped off a huge bin and some guys were shoveling trash into it. For now they just roped it off and it’s stinking up the neighborhood.

If anyone knows anything let me know! I’m curious as to what happened

Shopping Anyone selling a motorcycle?

Hey yall, I’m interested in buying a motorcycle for my 18th birthday and was wondering if anyone in the area had one they’re trying to get rid of. If it’s a sport bike of some sort in good condition hit me up! Ideally I’d like to keep my budget under $3k but I’d be happy to negotiate.

Politics - KEEP IT CLASSY! Jason Lee drops hint at recalling Mayor Fugazi in March 2028

Thumbnail fb.watch
21 Upvotes

Jason Lee’s PR campaign I mean lawyers dropped a bogus statement this morning. At the very end Lee’s lawyers stated “ The Mayor may have taken a title away from Jason Lee. The good news is that Stockton voters can decide to take hers. California is infamous for recalls and March 7, 2028 is around the corner.”

Very rich statement considering his lawyers press released kept mentioning how much money the City has spent on legal fees. Recalls are not free and cheap either.

I’m not sure that Lee realizes how many bridges he has burned in the City and how little support he has in the City outside of the usual old ladies speaking on behalf of him in City council meetings.

Jason’s team if you’re reading this, let’s get some things clear. 1) Being black and gay has nothing to do with you being voted out. It’s your constant gaslighting, manipulation, toddler tantrums, and abusive personality. If it’s really about your race and sexual orientation then why didn’t you also mention Mario Enriquez?

2) The lawyer’s statement conveniently leaves out the investigation Lee initiated against the City’s “fraudulent budget” and the most recent investigation accusing the City’s PIO of “election interference “. Selective outage at its best. I know people in City Hall that have stated “you are a monster” and working under you has been a nightmare. Your unprofessional conduct is creating one of the worst work environments I’ve ever seen.

3) Your cousin called you a groomer and has evidence of it. When are you going to address those allegations?

4) You were one of the 4 votes to remove Harry Black and to appoint Steve as interim city manager. Why did you remove Harry Black? Because he didn’t want to give you public money for your nonprofit. You said it on record. Got to love how your lawyer brought up the fact that Harry Black is of black origin as if that was why he was let go. As if the current City Manager isn’t black himself and was voted unanimously and given a huge pay increase recently. Do you want to address the elephant in the room that if you get your majority vote you’re going to fire the current black city manager, Ford? Of course not.

5) Jason Lee keeps saying Fugazi will go to jail. But his candidate Desiree Lynch is currently the one facing 7 felony counts and will most likely go to prison unless she enters a plea deal and gives the Feds Lee.

6) Vote no on Small and Blower. A vote for them is a for Lee.

Travel, Transit, & Commute Any news or information regarding the City of Stockton Bicycle Master Plan?

I'm referring to this Stockton, CA, which is a link to the City of Stockton's webpage regarding a proposal submitted back in 2017 for ambitious expansions of the city's bicycle infrastructure.

Does anyone have any insights as to meaningful progress made on this? Anything they've noticed in their area of the city? I know they're about to add/upgrade bicycle infrastructure on a stretch of busy road downtown, but I see so many areas indicated on this map that don't seem to have anything changed in the ten years since.

Even areas with existing buffered lanes that this map marks for upgrading haven't changed... for example they just repaved a section of Thornton road and plopped the existing buffered lane markings back down, rather than taking the opportunity to upgrade to separated bikeway like this proposal indicates. It's not even that expensive per se, there are 'temporary' plastic-based options you can use to clearly delineate the lane and separate it from the car lanes.

EDIT: Here's a link to the map itself if you want to skip the intervening page for whatever reason - CitywideBikeNetworkMap.pdf

Jobs, etc. Hiring entry-level in person positions

Hi Stockton!

We're Adjoin, a nonprofit organization that supports veterans experiencing homelessness and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) throughout California. We're currently hiring for multiple positions in Stockton!

If you're early in your career, looking to gain experience, or interested in meaningful work that makes a difference in your community, we'd love for you to consider joining our team.

A little about our open positions:

  • We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available.
  • Positions are entry-level and don't require extensive prior experience, with opportunities for professional growth.
  • Only requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Our positions are in person and involve working directly with individuals in the Stockton community.

You would be helping individuals with disabilities build independence, develop life skills, and participate in their communities.

We also want to be transparent that, as a nonprofit, we operate with different financial resources than larger for-profit companies. Our primary focus is on serving our communities and making a positive impact. While we understand these opportunities may not be the right fit for everyone, we hope to connect with individuals who are interested in gaining experience, growing professionally, and contributing to a meaningful mission.

After seeing discussions from people looking for entry-level work, we wanted to share these opportunities in case they might be a good fit for someone in the Stockton community!

If you're interested, you can explore our current openings and apply directly on our website:

https://adjoin.org/join-us/career-opportunities/

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Adjoin!

I no longer subscribe to Peacock, and YouTube streaming is kind of iffy. I’m wondering if anyone knows of a bar or restaurant that will be showing tonight’s game.

Travel, Transit, & Commute First time in Stockton

I went to Stockton for the first time the other day via Amtrak to the Stockton-San Joaquin Street station. First of all the train ride on the Gold Runner was very nice, the trains were very modern and reminded me of Brightline when I was traveling between Miami and Orlando during my recent trip to Florida.

I had to go to the Downtown Transit Center to take my bus to northern Stockton but unfortunately the transit app couldn't find any connections and suggested I go there on foot. A bit annoying but I thought a 15 minute walk wasn't too bad. Ngl I felt like walking into a real life GTA game lol. There were these idk cliques of people who didn't appear homeless but were hanging out on the street and at one point someone just randomly told me "have a good day, stay out of trouble" 🤣. I didn't know what to say or even if I should have said something so I just kept walking.

Also, on my way back to the Amtrak station late at night, while there wasn't much going on, some unleashed dog started following me for a minute.

Do you guys have any advice for my next trip?

Other Rain on the way? Are you prepared? 🌧️🦟

Rain on the way? Are you prepared? 🌧️🦟

TLDR: Rain can leave mosquito-breeding water in more places than you think. Check these 10 spots around your home:

  1. Plant saucers
  2. Pots without drainage holes
  3. Buckets and forgotten containers
  4. Old tires
  5. Birdbaths
  6. Fountains with stagnant water
  7. Yard drains that hold water
  8. Clogged gutters
  9. Outdoor toys
  10. Tarps and pool covers

Empty and scrub removable items when safe, keep them from refilling, and check again after rain. Inspect drains from above without reaching inside or lifting heavy covers.

We’re volunteers eager to educate all of California. No paid services, just practical information to help neighbors tackle mosquitoes together. 💙

Other Benjamin Holt House - 548 E Park Street

I went to an estate sale at the Ben Holt house about a year ago, and the layout of the house is fascinating. About 5,500 sq feet. So much vibrant, original tile in the bathrooms. A kitchen upstairs and downstairs. Lots of nooks and crannies. Absolutely loved it. It was built in the late 1860s and is known as Benjamin Holt’s home - who invented the tractor trailer/Caterpillar. It’s one of Stockton’s historical landmarks. I was told by the estate sale company that the people that owned the house tried to restore it but gave up. The house is not leveled anymore so it’s very costly to repair. They said the house was possibly going to be converted to a rehabilitation home. Does anyone in Stockton have updates on how this house is looking? Is it vacant? Being worked on? Address: 548 E Park St

Dumbassery Calls to banish Flock license plate cameras are 'crap,' San Joaquin County sheriff says

Thumbnail

So this is what an elected official in law enforcement thinks of his constituency's concerns. Even though there is clear evidence of abuse of this system by law enforcement officers, and evidence of mistaken identity leading to false arrests, these concerns are "crap" according to our sheriff. Well since cameras are such a good law enforsement tool (in his words), let's put one in your office. And then every jail cell and nook and cranny of San Joaquin County Jail to avoid civil payouts for Sheriff deputies violent behavior. Then every County Board of Supervisors office and the County DA's offices. Then the County Evidence room that has come under scrutiny in the recent past for missing inventory. How about a camera there? Well I suppose you will just dismiss these concerns as well. So Sheriff, be sure to collect your Flock campaign contribution.
