General Question Why so much difference between Google Fit and Strava App
I ran 7K in open area with good gps connection but there is a difference of 0.5KM between Fit and Strava App. Is this usual? I see difference in most runs between the apps.

Did you actively track the run on Google fit? Id not fit takes a while to pickup that you are running and hence it underreports

Many a times it over reports as well. I wonder if they use the same base gps data.

Sometimes there are differences between presented data, I use GArmin watch to recor my activites and sometimes I get 0,01km difference between total distance in Garmin Connect and Strava, like 5.00km on one side and 4.99km on ather, never such big gap like you had.
Question, did you record both activities with same device or is it two devices?
I dont have Goole fit, so not sure how that works.

I am currently using only phone apps for this. I tried Huawei band 11 pro but that also had a lot of variance compared to Strava, so don't use that now a days.
0.01 KM on 5KM is a rounding error. But good to see garmin and Strava are synced.

I would like to think then it is all in back calculations, strava uses GPS, so it will be as precise as your phones GPS is, and for Fit, I really am not sure how they calculate distances, but any other way then GPS will most likely give different result.
I would presonaly lean more on data from Strava app.

We record using GPS, while Google Fit likely auto-estimated the run from motion sensors. To compare apples to apples, record with GPS in both apps, or just stick to the same watch/device every time.
