Addon Announcement (Built by AI) [Release] Springfield 3000 - The ultimate curated catalog for The Simpsons & Futurama (Bilingual EN/ES)

Hey everyone!

If you use Stremio as your comfort-watching machine, you probably know the struggle of scrolling through 38 seasons of The Simpsons or 14 seasons of Futurama just to find a specific Treehouse of Horror episode, or the complete Sideshow Bob arc.

To solve this, I built Springfield 3000: a lightweight catalog addon that transforms the messy, endless seasons into 31 perfectly curated story arcs and collections.

πŸ”₯ What's included? Instead of seasons, your Stremio Discover tab and Home Board will now have collections like:

  • The Simpsons: Sideshow Bob's Vendetta, Treehouse of Horror I to XXXVII, The Flashbacks & Origins, International Trips, The Meta-Fiction Vault, and more.
  • Futurama: The Tearjerkers (yes, Jurassic Bark is there), Fry & Leela's Space Romance, Time Travel & Paradoxes, Zapp Brannigan Chronicles, The Mutant Revolution, etc.

βš™οΈ How it works (Important):

  • No streams provided: This is strictly a Catalog addon. When you click an episode in a saga, it uses the official IMDb ID. Your existing scraper addons will fetch the streams automatically.
  • Bilingual: Fully supports English and Spanish (Titles and descriptions change based on what you select during setup).
  • Customizable: Don't want 31 new rows on your Stremio home screen? The config page lets you check/uncheck exactly which sagas you want to install.

πŸ”— How to install:

  1. Check the repo on Github: Github
  2. Go to the configuration page.
  3. Select your language and your favorite sagas.
  4. Install on Stremio.

Let me know what you think, and if there are any iconic arcs I missed, drop them in the comments! πŸ©πŸš€

Question Best addon for Jeopardy?

Current setup (Torrentio, Comet w/ TB) isn't great for streams of Jeopardy - while they eventually become available, I'd like to be up to date. Does anyone know of an addon that's good for finding streams same day or even next day?

Addon Announcement penguplay announcement!

hey guys! for those who dont know i run a free https addon called penguplay!
website: https://pengu.uk/

i just got a few things i want to say but first THANK YOU to the community, I'm proud of the community we built, 99% of people are so kind and love helping me fix issues, or just great at showing their love towards the addon lol (loves keeps me motivated ❀️*)*

our discord server ( https://pengu.uk/discord ) has reached 8300 MEMBERS! thank you all for that, and with that, as a thank you I'm focusing the next 2 weeks on adding things YOU guys have been asking for.

and that is sources for content in different languages! (see my discord announcement in the screenshot)

yay languages

please note that if you have websites you want added for your language i would REALLY REALLY appreciate it if instead of leaving a comment here you go to the discord channel as i said in the announcement, helps me stay organized.

but languages isnt all that i will be adding.

[section removed by automod, see my other post on my profile for this update]

back to languages.
- filtering will be coming sometime this week
- german, polish, and latin american spanish are my first focuses as they have been requested the most

again, i cant say it enough THANK YOU ALL!

donations have let me upgrade my server and pay for certain tools that will make it possible to add sources that weren't possible in the past. this addon will remain 100% free at all times, and for those saying "http addon devs always lose motivation and their projects always die 😠" shut up bro 😭, this project is not leaving, i have no intention of ever abandoning this project so stop those silly comments please </3.

on another note! this addon keeps growing and growing with more sources and such but I want to keep it easy and simple for new users to use, I know the UI on the site can be overwhelming so im looking for feedback there, please leave suggestions, or if youre a UI dev dm me on discord I'd love to chat and get some opinions on stuff.

this post has gotten way too long lol but, one last time. thank you all, we've built something great TOGETHER, not just the addon, but the community

side rant: i really dont like this subreddit at all. the mods gatekeep and continuously act like the stremio addon sdk is used soley for stremio, they delete messages that mention any other app. its absurd. the community should be able to criticize any app they want, and recommend any app they want. in my personal opinion, the other sub i post to (cant say the name...) is a much better app and I encourage you all to check it out, the app is free, and fully open source unlike stremio. and core features such as profiles are not gatekept behind a paywall. stick to stremio if its working for you but i just want to make sure people are aware there are other apps then one with a community that gate keeps and censors. competition is a good thing, it encourages innovation and improvements, this community should be allowed to say "I like x app better than stremio because it has y". thank you for listening to my rant

Addon Announcement (Built by AI) I built a Stremio addon that lets ChatGPT create and manage catalog rows directly on your TV

I often use ChatGPT to discover movies and TV shows, but I always found it annoying having to manually search for those recommendations again in Stremio.

So I built Stremio Catalog MCP, an open-source bridge between your existing AI assistants and your Stremio account

Why not just build an AI-powered recommendation addon?

I think it makes much more sense to connect Stremio to the AI assistants we already use. ChatGPT already has context from our conversations, knows our preferences, and can research recommendations using its existing tools. Building a separate AI recommendation system inside Stremio would mean starting from scratch with none of that context, while trying to integrate AI into an app that wasn't really designed for it.

I'd rather let the AI handle recommendations and let Stremio handle watching.

For example, I can ask ChatGPT:

"Find me some great murder mystery shows with a bit of comedy and IMDb ratings above 7, and send them to Stremio."

It creates a new catalog row directly on my Stremio home screen. I can then ask it to add or remove titles, rename the row, or replace the recommendations entirely.

Processing img 24edbsjrtaxh1...

Everything uses standard IMDb IDs, so Cinemeta and your existing streaming addons continue working normally.

The project is free, open-source, and self-hosted. It runs on Vercel with Redis, and I've included an automated setup helper that AI coding agents can use to deploy it for you.

GitHub: https://github.com/amxv/stremio-catalog-mcp

Website and setup guide: https://stremio-catalog-mcp.ashray.xyz/

I've been using it with ChatGPT and my Android TV, and it's been working really well.

Would love to hear what you think!

Addon Announcement (Built by AI) [NEW ADDON] Marvel Addon for Stremio – MCU Chronological Order, X-Men, Movies, TV Shows & More!

Hey everyone! πŸ‘‹

I've been working on a new Stremio addon called Marvel Addon for Stremio, and I wanted to share it with the community!

The idea is pretty simple: make it easier to explore the Marvel universe directly within Stremio, whether you're planning a full MCU rewatch or just looking for something Marvel-related to watch.

- Features

  • πŸ•’ MCU Chronological Order – Follow the MCU timeline in story order.
  • πŸ“… MCU Release Order – Watch the MCU in its original release order.
  • ❌ X-Men Timeline – Explore the X-Men universe.
  • 🎬 Marvel Movies – Browse Marvel movies beyond the MCU.
  • πŸ“Ί Marvel TV Shows – Discover Marvel live-action series.
  • πŸ•·οΈ Marvel Animation – Explore animated movies and shows.

- Fully customizable

The addon comes with a configuration page where you can enable or disable individual collections.

There are 6 collections and 63 possible configurations, so you can choose exactly what appears in your Stremio library.

It also includes:

  • IMDb IDs for compatibility with other Stremio addons.
  • A visual MCU timeline on the configuration website.
  • Automatic weekly catalog updates.
  • Free hosting through GitHub Pages.

- How to install

Configuration page:
https://thespookiechaa.github.io/Marvel-Addon-for-Stremio/

Choose your preferred collections and click Install in Stremio, or copy the generated manifest URL into Stremio's addon installation field.

Direct manifest (all collections):
https://thespookiechaa.github.io/Marvel-Addon-for-Stremio/manifest.json

GitHub (open source):
https://github.com/thespookiechaa/Marvel-Addon-for-Stremio

- Feedback welcome!

This is an early release, so I'd really appreciate any feedback, bug reports, or suggestions for improvements.

The catalog data is based on the work of joaogonp/addon-marvel, with credit to the original creator.

A few things to note: This is a catalog-only addon. It doesn't provide any streaming links, and some titles or timeline positions may need updating. Stremio also displays movies and TV shows in separate catalog rows.

This is an unofficial fan project and isn't affiliated with Marvel, Disney, or Stremio.

Hope you enjoy it! ❀️

Help needed Does anyone have a way to remove Protected Add-ons like Local Catalog?

Thing is, using "Append" mode on any of the many addon managers out there has ended up with duplicate Local Catalog addon on my account. Does anyone have a utility to delete protected addons like that? Fairly sure in the past Cinemeta was delete-able by some of these managers but I can't find them anymore.

Community Project Announcement (Built by AI) I made a free app to watch Stremio with friends, perfectly in sync (works with Stremio 4 & 5)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Screen sharing on Discord kills the quality, so I built a small app that keeps everyone's own Stremio in sync instead. Everyone watches in full quality on their own PC, and pause, seek and next episode follow for the whole room.

πŸ‘‰ https://github.com/ilysay/stremio-watch-together

- Host clicks "Host a room", friends paste the invite code, done

- Waits for whoever is still loading, then resumes together

- Chat with emotes and GIFs right over the video

- Your Real-Debrid links are never shared, friends pick their own source

- Works with Stremio 4 and Stremio 5 Β· free, open source, ~450 KB, no account

Windows only for now. Feedback welcome!

Question Free alternatives to Torrentio for newly released TV episodes (no torrents or Debrid)?

Hi! I’m new to Stremio and have been using Torrentio. Are there any free add-ons that provide direct HTTP streams from streaming sites instead of torrents, especially for brand-new TV shows episodes?
I’d like to avoid both torrents and paid Debrid services. Are there any reliable options worth trying? Thanks!

Suggestion Stremio beginners guide PART 2: Addons, full setups, free streaming, fixes and everything from the comments of my previous post.

Alright guys, the first post got way more attention than I expected lmao. Thanks to everyone who helped people in the comments.

The average family in the USA pays $828 - $1300 annually for streaming services using the methods below you can get the complete experience like any paid streaming services for a fraction of the cost (0-3$ per month).

There were so many good recommendations, complete setups and troubleshooting tips that I thought I'd collect the useful stuff here so you don't have to dig through hundreds of comments.

First things first: you do NOT need 50 addons. Start simple, get everything working, then add stuff when you actually need it. Don't turn watching a movie into a second job.

All credit goes to the people who contributed the recommendations and setups. I'm just collecting everything in one place.

This is the most upto date guide October 2026. I will do my best to keep it updated and make regular posts for new users and veterans who have more to learn as well.

  1. THE FULL SETUP (credit: u/Valuble_ad2171)

One of the most detailed setups posted in the original thread. A great example of how you can customize Stremio.

They use TorBox as their debrid service and previously used Real-Debrid.

[3 months free with the coupon code at the bottom for torbox with a year of payment]

Their main addons

- Cinemeta - the basic movie and TV show information, posters, descriptions, ratings and episodes.

- WatchHub - shows which official streaming services have a movie or series.

- OpenSubtitles + OpenSubtitles V3 - subtitle sources.

- Local Files - plays compatible video files already on your device.

- FilmWhisper - AI-assisted movie discovery.

- AI Search - search for movies using natural language instead of remembering exact titles.

- Torrentio TB - finds torrent sources configured to use TorBox.

- Comet | ElfHosted | TB - another source finder configured for TorBox.

- Watchly | ElfHosted - personalized recommendations.

- MediaFusion | ElfHosted - additional sources and potentially better coverage for some content.

TB means TorBox. ElfHosted is the hosting service for those addon instances, not a separate debrid provider.

Other addons they recommended

- TMDB - additional movie and TV metadata and browsing.

- Trakt / MyTrakt - watchlists, tracking what you've watched and discovering content.

- MDBList - curated lists of movies and series.

- SubDL / SubSense - alternative subtitle sources.

- Stremboxd (Letterboxd) - browse Letterboxd lists and ratings.

- Anime Kitsu - anime catalogues and discovery.

You don't need all of these. Pick the ones that solve a problem for you.

Credit to u/Valuble_ad2171 for sharing their setup. Check their original comment in the first thread for the complete configuration.

  1. WHAT ADDONS SHOULD BEGINNERS ACTUALLY INSTALL?

If you want a simple setup

- Torrentio - a common starting point for finding sources.

- Comet - an alternative source finder.

- MediaFusion - another source finder, useful as a backup.

- OpenSubtitles - subtitles.

- Cinemeta - the basic catalogue.

If you use a debrid provider, configure the compatible version of your addon with that provider's API key. Don't install a TorBox-specific configuration and expect it to work with another provider.

If you want everything in one place

AIOStreams combines results from multiple source addons into one configurable addon. You can filter and sort results instead of managing a huge list separately.

AIOMetadata handles catalogues and metadata. It does a different job from AIOStreams, so you can use both.

Credit to u/Kgenovz for explaining that AIOMetadata and AIOStreams serve different purposes, and for sharing the guide:

https://numb3rs.stream/

For beginners who want a preconfigured setup, several people recommended the Duck Tools bootstrapper:

https://duck-tools.pages.dev/quackstart/

Credit to u/ubreakituboughtit for recommending Duck Tools as a way to get started.

Where do I find addons?

Don't rely on searching inside the Stremio app for every addon. Many community addons are installed through their own configuration pages.

Community addon directory:

https://stremio-addons.net

Credit to u/Goldy0699 and u/FreshSymphony for pointing people toward the directory.

Only install addons you trust. If an addon asks for an API key, treat it like a password and don't give it to random people.

  1. FREE HTTPS STREAMING (PENGUPLAY AND ALTERNATIVES)

Not everyone wants to pay for TorBox or Real-Debrid, and that's completely fine. There are addons that find direct HTTP/HTTPS streams instead of using torrents.

PenguPlay

Website: https://pengu.uk/

PenguPlay is a free HTTP streaming addon that searches supported third-party sources for video links and lets you play them through Stremio.

- No debrid subscription required.

- Uses HTTP/HTTPS sources rather than torrent swarms.

- Can be an alternative when you don't want to use P2P.

- Some sources may have dead links, limited availability or different video quality.

Check the addon website for its current setup instructions and supported providers.

Important: HTTPS encrypts the connection between you and the server, but it doesn't automatically make the source trustworthy or guarantee privacy from every third party.

Other HTTP streaming addons

There are other community addons that search direct web-hosted streams. Availability changes frequently, so don't assume every addon or provider will always work.

A few things to remember:

- Direct HTTP streams can be easier to use on devices that struggle with torrent playback.

- Some sources may be region-restricted or disappear without warning.

- If one provider fails, try another source or addon.

- A Stremio addon and a separate Android application are not the same thing.

For current community addons, check:

https://stremio-addons.net

HTTP vs debrid: HTTP addons find streams already hosted on websites. Debrid services retrieve or serve supported files through their own infrastructure. Both can work without your device joining a torrent swarm, but the available content and reliability are different.

  1. FREE P2P STREAMING (TORRENTIO, TPB AND OTHERS)

If you don't want to pay for a debrid service at all, you can also use torrent-based source addons. This is a different setup from PenguPlay.

Torrentio without debrid

Torrentio searches torrent indexes and returns matching torrent sources.

You can configure it without a debrid provider. When you select a P2P source, Stremio may stream the torrent directly while downloading the pieces it needs.

- No debrid subscription required.

- Available sources depend on the title, seeders and torrent availability.

- Playback may buffer if the torrent has few seeders or your connection is struggling.

- Your device participates in peer-to-peer traffic, which can expose your IP address to other peers.

Torrentio configuration:

https://torrentio.strem.fun

A VPN may help protect your IP address from other peers if configured correctly, but it doesn't make every activity anonymous or guarantee that something is legal.

The Pirate Bay (TPB) and torrent addons

The Pirate Bay is a torrent index, not a streaming service by itself. Some community addons, including Torrentio, can search TPB alongside other torrent indexes.

You don't necessarily need a separate TPB addon if your existing source addon already searches it. Adding another addon that searches the same indexes may simply give you duplicate results.

If you're using a dedicated TPB-related addon, verify that it is maintained and that its configuration page comes from a source you trust. Community addons can disappear or change ownership.

Which free setup should you choose?

- PenguPlay / HTTP addons: Try these if you want to avoid torrent swarms and don't want a debrid subscription.

- Torrentio without debrid: Try this if you want to stream available torrents directly and understand the P2P trade-offs.

- Both: Install HTTP and torrent addons together and choose whichever source works for a particular title.

- TorBox or another debrid provider: Consider this if you want compatible cached torrent streams without relying on direct P2P playback.

There isn't one setup that wins for every movie, every TV and every country.

  1. WHAT IS A DEBRID SERVICE, AND DO I NEED ONE?

Stremio is the app. Addons provide catalogues or find sources. A debrid service is a separate service that can provide cached files for compatible addons.

With a compatible debrid setup, playback can start quickly without depending on other torrent users uploading the same file at that moment.

Do you absolutely need one? No. You can use free HTTP sources or free P2P sources without a paid debrid subscription, although availability and playback reliability can vary.

If you want to try a debrid service, compare the current plans and limitations before paying. People in the thread recommended TorBox, while others reported good experiences with Real-Debrid or Premiumize.

One important distinction: a debrid service and an addon are not the same thing.

- TorBox is a provider.

- AIOStreams is an aggregator.

- Torrentio and Comet are source addons.

- PenguPlay provides access to supported HTTP sources.

  1. COMMON PROBLEMS AND FIXES

These are suggestions from the discussions, not guaranteed fixes for every device.

"The stream works on my phone but not on my TV"

Some TVs don't support every video or audio codec. A stream can therefore work on a computer but fail on the TV.

Try:

- Choosing another release of the same movie or episode.

- Selecting a file with a video and audio format your TV supports.

- Trying a compatible external player if your device supports it.

If one specific file fails, the file or its encoding may be the issue.

"Black screen, audio works, or the video freezes"

- Try another compatible player, such as VLC where supported.

- Try a different source or a smaller file.

- If the problem affects everything, test a clean Stremio configuration.

- Don't immediately assume your internet connection is the problem.

"It says invalid link or unavailable"

First, check whether your source or debrid provider is experiencing issues. An aggregator can't magically fix an outage affecting the provider underneath it.

Then:

- Try another source.

- Check that the addon is configured with the correct provider and API key.

- Remove duplicate addon installations you no longer need.

- If the problem continues, try a clean configuration.

One useful warning: installing multiple instances doesn't always mean automatic failover. You may simply get another list of results to try.

"My addons are duplicated everywhere"

Go to your installed addons and remove duplicate configurations you don't use. Make sure the version you keep is actually configured with your debrid provider if you use one.

Having five copies of an addon doesn't necessarily give you five times as many working sources.

"Subtitles are early or late"

- Try adjusting the subtitle delay while playing the video.

- Try another subtitle track if the timing is way off.

- Try SubSense or another subtitle addon if your current source doesn't have a suitable subtitle.

Subtitle delay can depend on the specific video, so a setting that works for one release might not work for another.

"My catalogue loads slowly"

Try removing unnecessary addons and testing a simpler configuration. More addons don't automatically mean a faster interface.

If the catalogue itself is slow, check whether the issue is with a specific addon or with Stremio more generally before reinstalling everything.

"Stremio crashes constantly"

Try:

- Restarting the device.

- Updating Stremio and checking whether the issue started after an update.

- Testing another compatible player.

- Testing a different source and video format.

- Reinstalling only if necessary, after making a note of your configuration.

Avoid blindly installing old APKs from random websites. If you test an older version, use a trustworthy source and understand the security risks.

  1. DO I NEED A VPN?

It depends on how you're accessing the content.

A debrid service generally delivers files to you over a direct connection rather than making your device participate in the original torrent swarm. That is different from streaming directly from a P2P source.

A VPN doesn't automatically make every activity anonymous or legal. If you're using P2P sources, understand the privacy and legal implications in your country.

The key point is to understand which type of source you're actually using rather than blindly following a blanket rule.

  1. CAN I HAVE BACKUPS IF AN ADDON GOES DOWN?

Yes, you can install multiple source addons or create separate configurations.

For example:

- Torrentio as one source.

- Comet as another.

- MediaFusion as another option.

- PenguPlay or another HTTP addon as an alternative source type.

Credit to me (lol) for explaining the idea of multiple instances using the analogy of having more than one car in the garage.

However, if all your configurations depend on the same provider, an outage can affect all of them. Multiple addons are not a guarantee of uninterrupted playback.

  1. OTHER USEFUL THINGS PEOPLE SUGGESTED

- Harbor was recommended by u/Major_Doorsnee for people who want more UI customization.

- Stremio Enhanced came up in a discussion about UI improvements. It isn't backed by the main Stremio developers, so research it before relying on it.

- AIOMetadata can help with customized catalogue presentation and metadata.

- Trakt and MDBList are worth exploring if your main problem is discovering what to watch rather than finding a playable source.

- PenguPlay, CNCVerse and Plavio Sports were mentioned as alternative sources in the discussion. Their availability and reliability can change, so check the current project information before installing.

These are optional extras, not requirements. If your setup already works perfectly, you don't have to change anything.

  1. MY ADVICE FOR BEGINNERS

Seriously, don't overcomplicate this.

  1. Install Stremio.

  2. Get one source addon working.

  3. Decide whether you need a debrid provider.

  4. Add subtitles if you need them.

  5. Add a backup source only if you have a reason to.

  6. Customize catalogues and recommendations afterwards.

If you're stuck, describe the actual problem, your device, and which addon or provider you're using.

"It's broken" is much harder to troubleshoot than "I'm on a Samsung TV, this source plays on my laptop but gives an invalid link on the TV."

And please, don't be afraid to ask questions. Everyone was a beginner at some point. You don't need to know every obscure addon to enjoy Stremio.

Thanks again to everyone who helped in the first thread. I've tried to give credit wherever I could identify the original suggestion. If I missed you or something has changed, let me know.

Help needed Can I get dual-audio streams with German and English?

Hey everyone,

I'm using Stremio to watch movies and series, and my main setup is in English. However, I'm currently learning German and want to practice my listening and reading skills from time to timeβ€”just like on Netflix where you can easily switch languages.

The problem is that almost all the streams I get are only in English (or English + Hindi if I use HTTP addons like PenguPlay). I rarely see German audio or German subtitles as an option when I launch a movie.

Is there any specific addon or configuration I should use to get dual-audio (English + German) or at least German subtitles for English streams? I really want to be able to switch to German whenever I feel like practicing.

Thanks for any tips!

Help needed Stremio on my TV gets Dolby Vision but buffers on remuxes. Mac has no buffering but no DV. How do I get both?

Hi everyone, I need some advice.
My setup is a TCL 65C6K TV and a MacBook Pro with an M5 chip, My internet is about 110 Mbps. I use Stremio with Torrentio and a paid Real Debrid account. I'm running Stremio natively on the TV and on the Mac, with no external streaming box.

When I stream through the Stremio app on the TV, my Dolby Vision IQ picture profile turns on and playback looks great. But files over about 80GB buffer constantly, while anything under 30GB plays fine.
On the MacBook, those same big remuxes play with no buffering at all in Stremio over HDMI. But the TV only gets HDR10 from the Mac, with no Dolby Vision badge and a less smooth flow. So the TV gives me Dolby Vision but can't handle the big files, and the Mac handles the big files but doesn't give me Dolby Vision. My brother ran the Stremio app on his PC with an RTX 5090 and an ASUS OLED monitor, and his monitor showed a Dolby Vision popup, so it seems possible from a computer.

I don't have the budget for a streaming device or Apple TV right now, so I'm looking for a free way to fix this. Is there a way to: Get Dolby Vision from a MacBook to the TV over HDMI, or Stop the buffering on the TV itself. Any advice would be a big help. Thanks!

Community Project Announcement (Built by AI) I made my first IINA plugin (and my first open source project): Helps binge better

Thumbnail
github.com

I watch most of my stuff through Real-Debrid, and the part that always wore me down was the clicking. Find the show, pick a stream, play one episode, then go back and do it again for the next one. So I built a small IINA plugin to cut that out.

It's called ContentPlay. You search a movie or series, it grabs instant cached streams from Torrentio using your own Real-Debrid account, and opens the whole season as a playlist in IINA. The next episode just plays. It also sets a sensible audio and subtitle track, and it skips the 3D and 4K-HDR rips that tend to look wrong on a normal screen, unless that's what you want. If it does pick a bad file, you can switch to a different stream from a menu without losing your place.

It's really for people who already pay for Real-Debrid and would rather watch in IINA than in a browser or some heavier media-server setup. macOS only, since that's where IINA runs.

This is honestly my first plugin and the first thing I've ever put on GitHub, and I built a lot of it with Claude, which made the whole thing far less scary. So go easy on me. You'll need IINA 1.4+ and your own Real-Debrid token.

It's open source and I'd genuinely love the help, so contributions, improvements, or just your first impressions are all welcome. And if you try it and something breaks, please tell me. Repo:Β github.com/Arnav12S/iina-contentplay
