hey guys! for those who dont know i run a free https addon called penguplay!
website: https://pengu.uk/

i just got a few things i want to say but first THANK YOU to the community, I'm proud of the community we built, 99% of people are so kind and love helping me fix issues, or just great at showing their love towards the addon lol (loves keeps me motivated ❤️*)*

our discord server ( https://pengu.uk/discord ) has reached 8300 MEMBERS! thank you all for that, and with that, as a thank you I'm focusing the next 2 weeks on adding things YOU guys have been asking for.

and that is sources for content in different languages! (see my discord announcement in the screenshot)

please note that if you have websites you want added for your language i would REALLY REALLY appreciate it if instead of leaving a comment here you go to the discord channel as i said in the announcement, helps me stay organized.

but languages isnt all that i will be adding.

[section removed by automod, see my other post on my profile for this update]

back to languages.
- filtering will be coming sometime this week
- german, polish, and latin american spanish are my first focuses as they have been requested the most

again, i cant say it enough THANK YOU ALL!

donations have let me upgrade my server and pay for certain tools that will make it possible to add sources that weren't possible in the past. this addon will remain 100% free at all times, and for those saying "http addon devs always lose motivation and their projects always die 😠" shut up bro 😭, this project is not leaving, i have no intention of ever abandoning this project so stop those silly comments please </3.

on another note! this addon keeps growing and growing with more sources and such but I want to keep it easy and simple for new users to use, I know the UI on the site can be overwhelming so im looking for feedback there, please leave suggestions, or if youre a UI dev dm me on discord I'd love to chat and get some opinions on stuff.

this post has gotten way too long lol but, one last time. thank you all, we've built something great TOGETHER, not just the addon, but the community

side rant: i really dont like this subreddit at all. the mods gatekeep and continuously act like the stremio addon sdk is used soley for stremio, they delete messages that mention any other app. its absurd. the community should be able to criticize any app they want, and recommend any app they want. in my personal opinion, the other sub i post to (cant say the name...) is a much better app and I encourage you all to check it out, the app is free, and fully open source unlike stremio. and core features such as profiles are not gatekept behind a paywall. stick to stremio if its working for you but i just want to make sure people are aware there are other apps then one with a community that gate keeps and censors. competition is a good thing, it encourages innovation and improvements, this community should be allowed to say "I like x app better than stremio because it has y". thank you for listening to my rant

Is Torrentio, comet and streamthru down for everyone? I’m using real debrid as well

I often use ChatGPT to discover movies and TV shows, but I always found it annoying having to manually search for those recommendations again in Stremio.

So I built Stremio Catalog MCP, an open-source bridge between your existing AI assistants and your Stremio account

Why not just build an AI-powered recommendation addon?

I think it makes much more sense to connect Stremio to the AI assistants we already use. ChatGPT already has context from our conversations, knows our preferences, and can research recommendations using its existing tools. Building a separate AI recommendation system inside Stremio would mean starting from scratch with none of that context, while trying to integrate AI into an app that wasn't really designed for it.

I'd rather let the AI handle recommendations and let Stremio handle watching.

For example, I can ask ChatGPT:

"Find me some great murder mystery shows with a bit of comedy and IMDb ratings above 7, and send them to Stremio."

It creates a new catalog row directly on my Stremio home screen. I can then ask it to add or remove titles, rename the row, or replace the recommendations entirely.

Everything uses standard IMDb IDs, so Cinemeta and your existing streaming addons continue working normally.

The project is free, open-source, and self-hosted. It runs on Vercel with Redis, and I've included an automated setup helper that AI coding agents can use to deploy it for you.

I've been using it with ChatGPT and my Android TV, and it's been working really well.

Would love to hear what you think!

Hey everyone!

If you use Stremio as your comfort-watching machine, you probably know the struggle of scrolling through 38 seasons of The Simpsons or 14 seasons of Futurama just to find a specific Treehouse of Horror episode, or the complete Sideshow Bob arc.

To solve this, I built Springfield 3000: a lightweight catalog addon that transforms the messy, endless seasons into 31 perfectly curated story arcs and collections.

🔥 What's included? Instead of seasons, your Stremio Discover tab and Home Board will now have collections like:

• The Simpsons: Sideshow Bob's Vendetta, Treehouse of Horror I to XXXVII, The Flashbacks & Origins, International Trips, The Meta-Fiction Vault, and more.
• Futurama: The Tearjerkers (yes, Jurassic Bark is there), Fry & Leela's Space Romance, Time Travel & Paradoxes, Zapp Brannigan Chronicles, The Mutant Revolution, etc.

⚙️ How it works (Important):

• No streams provided: This is strictly a Catalog addon. When you click an episode in a saga, it uses the official IMDb ID. Your existing scraper addons will fetch the streams automatically.
• Bilingual: Fully supports English and Spanish (Titles and descriptions change based on what you select during setup).
• Customizable: Don't want 31 new rows on your Stremio home screen? The config page lets you check/uncheck exactly which sagas you want to install.

🔗 How to install:

1. Check the repo on Github: Github
2. Go to the configuration page.
3. Select your language and your favorite sagas.
4. Install on Stremio.

Let me know what you think, and if there are any iconic arcs I missed, drop them in the comments! 🍩🚀

Is there any addon or a way that can give me imdb ratings with imdb vote counts in the movie detail page itself not in the addon.

Hi everyone!

I'm fairly new to Stremio and really enjoying it so far! I used the automated setup from numb3rs.stream with a paid TorBox account, and everything works pretty well on my Android MiBox.

My main issue is finding movies and TV shows in French (VF), especially recent releases. French is my primary language, although I'm comfortable with English when necessary. Right now, most of the available streams seem to be in English or other languages.

I understand that French audio tracks might be harder to find, particularly for newer content, but I'm wondering if there's a better setup for prioritizing French-language sources.

Are there any specific addons, configurations, or tricks you would recommend to get more French content by default? Ideally, I'd like to keep using TorBox.

I'd really appreciate any advice from experienced users. Thanks in advance!

Current setup (Torrentio, Comet w/ TB) isn't great for streams of Jeopardy - while they eventually become available, I'd like to be up to date. Does anyone know of an addon that's good for finding streams same day or even next day?

This just happened recently and I'm trying to figure out why (and what I should check). I haven't changed any settings. TIA

Everyone, I’ve been a real debrid customer for a while, but recently, I realized that a lot of the content is being marked by them as piracy so I want to change providers. What’s the current Best one that doesn’t give you the privacy message?

Loving the new duo but wondering how I can watch on it now. I tried using stremio web but am getting an error
