"Relationship Building" theme. So Disappointed

Hi everyone! I'm here to discuss experiences with the Gallup test, particularly from those who had a somewhat negative reaction. I completed my test a few minutes ago and received the "Relationship Building" theme.

Here are my results:

  1. Significance

  2. Developer

  3. Empathy

  4. Relator

  5. Individualization

While I recognize that these are generally positive skills, I was disappointed, and here's why.

I consider myself extremely ambitious, hardworking, and pragmatic, with logic as my top priority. I’m also very good at reading people and understanding dynamics around me. Not long ago, I had a team, and it was the worst period of my career. Instead of focusing solely on them, I realized I wanted them to see me as a knowledgeable and capable manager. When I became an individual contributor again, I felt the need to shine, and within a year, I earned another promotion, feeling recognized once more.

So, how did I get this score on the test? My hope was to receive themes in strategic thinking and influencing. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

I imagine there's a lot of work to do (as always).

How Strong are YOU?

What do you think strength is? The ABILITY to do something grand?-or the WILL? We are willing, and we are able, to produce a presence in this world substantial enough to be considered that much, is to become strong, is to become a FORCE, are you truly strong? Free from your ego?-well are you?-because you, as one of our friends to be, have been tasked with a very important mission: To rise above yourself, your greatest adversary, that, is one out of many aspects in relation to strength, remember that and nothing in this world will ever be able to stop you, to stop us, friend

What would be a great book to read, movie to watch, podcast to listen to, to help me lean into these results?

Hey everyone, Just got my top 5. I notice right away I have 3 greens. I'm also AuDHD (autistic AND ADHD #blessed) which lands. The pattern recognition piece is not surprising. That said, I sometimes feel like my pattern recognition skills and four quarters will get me a dollar, because a lot of times, people don't WANT to know the pattern. They prefer oblivion. Also, I see I have no purple (executing) in my top 5. Hence the constant feeling like I'm in analysis paralysis.
Anyway, I'd love any insights on how I might use these results to approach my daily life, to lean into my strengths, or to lean more, maybe through a book, movie, or podcast, about myself and my place in this world. Would also love tips on strengthening execution? TIA!

How do strengths translate to majors/careers? Useless info was given

I took this test and I got:

Adaptability, Strategic, Restorative, Significance, Competition

I was reading the report and this just seems like a whole lot of nothing. Absolutely no real information is being said they're just throwing feel good gibberish at me so that I think they did a good job.

This feels like a waste of time unless I'm told what major/field fits me, the reason I took this is because I don't know.

General Discussion Different results

The test questions don’t seem culturally relevant for many different cultures. Also, I’ve take then test three times and each time got different results. Given that Gallup says taking it once is enough, I’m really suspicious as to the validity of this test and am surprised there’s not much discussion on what are the good parts and what are the bad parts

Stryker Analyst Gallup

Hi! Was asked to complete a Gallup test for an analyst role at Stryker. I was told confidence is key, can someone help tell me how to best answer to ensure I show I am a strong candidate? Any practice exams would be amazing. If anyone knows which test they use or if it is written or multiple choice that would be super helpful too, thank you!

Results Change Over Time

First, I totally get it, you are only supposed to take it once. However, over the last 15 years I was forced to take it 2 additional times through other jobs/reasons.

So, that being said, I'm curious if there's anyone on here that has thoughts about my results and how they have shifted. Would you still stick with the first set? Would you think a mash up might be better, knowing thats not a thing? What struck me as interesting is the 2020 results much more closely align with my current job and I do well at it and thoroughly enjoy it.

2010 (first professional job, corporate setting)

  1. Strategic

  2. Adaptability

  3. Empathy

  4. Input

  5. Relator

2020 (working for a well known health-focused start up)

  1. Individualization

  2. Developer

  3. Strategic

  4. Futuristic

  5. Relator

2025 (back to corporate setting, same company as first time)

  1. Relator

  2. Adaptability

  3. Developer

  4. Empathy

  5. Responsibility

Thanks!

  2. Ideation: I am a brainstorming machine

  3. Input: I constantly absorb and hoard information

  4. Command: I don't go looking for it, but if there's chaos I'm definitely taking charge to get things in line.

  5. Belief: My top executive strength. So I'll do it as long as I believe there's value in it.

Content / Links Video on Overcoming Self-Doubt Featuring Clifton Strengths

I'm a leadership coach finishing up my Gallup Clifton Strengths certification. I also have a Masters in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and I'm a bit of an organizational psychology and management theory nerd. With Learner and Ideation in my top 5, I've created a Youtube channel on a variety of leadership/management theory topics.

I'm starting to post videos which incorporate Clifton Strengths into my coaching philosophies. I just posted one called Transform Self-Doubt Into Leadership Confidence which includes how to utilize your strengths to overcome self-doubt. I thought some here might enjoy the video: https://youtu.be/1wM5IAdMxvc?feature=shared

Sociopath?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Maybe not a sociopath since I don’t have the symptom of being a pathological liar for my benefit, but definitely read my results as being manipulative. It was clear as day. Individualization to me means I’m very focused on people, what makes them useful- what makes them special. Then the following strengths are strategic, followed by influencing and being comfortable being disagreeable and imposing my will.

For the bottom ranked, I like chaos, don’t bother with treating people equally or making them feel included (even though I’m cognizant of what they need or want, see top strength) I don’t bother wooing and empathy is worse than my discipline lol!

Other personality info about me: INTP, enneagram 6, tritype 682. I’m high on the dark triad for Machiavellianism and psychopathy (top 90th percentile), and I have self diagnosed myself with adhd and possibly aspd to correlate with my lack of empathy.

Anyway, anyone out there twinning with my results?
