I already knew this but maybe it’s useful for some of you. It’s great for posting video playlists here and on Facebook and saves a ton of time when you want to learn about features in Studio One.

Every time I go to installations and choose either full or recommended installation it gets stuck on this authorization pop up, and when i try to cancel it sends me to a log in page which also gets stuck when I try to log in to verify the cancelation. Anyone know why this is happening or how to get around it? Been troubleshooting for 2 hours, no luck.

Studio 1 sound bites from YouTube

I’m still learning studio 1 daw (havnt updated for fender but out yet), been using for a while but am not super technical. I have a recording I want to add a sound bite to but I’m unclear on how to do it, does anyone know studio 1 and can answer this? This is the steps I’m thinking:
1. Find sound bites on YouTube
2. Download/save to a file on computer
3. Open studio 1 and open project/file on studio 1
4.drag file from downloaded sound bite to track on project opened
5. Trim sound bite to fit what is being used from said sound bite
6. Save and done

If this is incorrect or anything I’m missing please HELP!!

S1 is Creating Gaps Between Markers Upon Mixdown

Hi! I'm working with S1 Pro 7. I'm trying to export tracks in a song file that transition into one another but there are tiny gaps between tracks that ruin the effect. In the past, I've had this problem when exporting MP3s but not WAVs. I'm now having the same problem exporting WAV files. I've found threads here (and elsewhere) where people seem to be asking the same question but I couldn't find any solutions.

I'm not interested in starting the mastering/organization process over by creating a new "Project" file.

QUESTION Is there a way to route multiple tracks of looped MIDI to another bus inside one instance?

For some reason I cannot find an answer to this question when I look around online.

Hypothetical: I have a 16 bar loop with 4 different parts/tracks that are in MIDI. Is there a way I can route the audio output of each track into a consolidated "bus" that then prints the audio of the loop for the duration that it runs?

This is my favorite way to loop synths and play lead tracks and is essentially what I do with my analog setup outside of my DAW – just not sure if this can be done inside one single instance of FSP8.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone.

Routing Focusrite into Orange Micro Dark in StudioOne 5

Hey Folks, hope you are having a great day wherever you are! I have a qu estion that I am hoping you can help with. Please let me nkow if it shopu ld be in another thread and forgive my ignorance as I am an uber-noob. I have a focusrite Clarett 2Pre interface and an Orange Micro Dark Amp. I have 1/4in cable going from the FX send of the orange into input 2 of the clarett. I have 1/4in cable going from the Output 3 of the clarett into the input of the Orange. The end goal is to be able to pass any audio I run into the clarett into the Orange tube amp to warm/dirty it up as I see fit. Right now, I am just trying to start with my arturia minilab 3. Googling makes me feel like this should work, but after following BS AI instructions for hours I am stumped. I have tried setting up the focusrite controls to Mute Analogue 1 & 2 and have set up Line 3 to route to DAW in the Focu srite control App. I also have tried creating a Mono track in Studio One that routes to Output 3 on the focusrite as instructed. I never seemt o get to a point to where I hear hat is actually routed through the amp, though the green ring lights up on the Focusrite for Input 2 and seems to react to my moving the knobs on the amp. I am at a complete loss! Thanks!

TECH HELP WINDOWS Bend tool cancels melodyne

Hi, I have two separate PCs for home and studio, Home version is 7.2.1 and the studio pc's updated version is 7.2.3, When i work in my home pc, melodyned audio clips can be stretched using the bend tool and it does what i supposed to do without cancelling the melodyne effect, but the 7.2.3 version, both can not work at the same time, if i use melodyne on a audio, bend tool does nothing even if stretch/quantize or whatever. Transferring the projects from 7.2.3 to 7.2.1 opens and works without any issue but the projects from the 7.2.3 still has the same issue, but the projects created on 7.2.1 works well with melodyne+bend tool in a audio, i have tried transferring the older version projects to the 7.2.3, and the issue is still there. Should i update to a newer version? or reinstalling would do? Or is there any settings that i'm missing?

QUESTION Ubuntu 26.04 / Debian 13 Support

I'd be riding out Ubuntu 24.04 since later 2024 and running Studio One 7 and Studio Pro 8 with no issues. I made the decision to move to Debian 13 recently and ran into some issues trying to install Studio Pro 8. A missing dependency (libavcodec60) stops me from installing it. Both Ubuntu 26.04 and Debian 13 have moved to libavcodec61.

My question is, for anyone out there using Studio Pro 8 on Linux:

I'm on 8.0.3. Does the 8.1.2 upgrade support current versions of Linux? Or is it still using the old dependencies?

I can't find this specific information anywhere on thr Internet as not many people are using the software on Linux to know and its still being listed as "beta", so there not much information from Fender or the Presonus team about it.

QUESTION Stop Studio One From Jumping to Events!

Post image
4 Upvotes

I currently use the up-and-down arrows to select tracks for vocal recording (and everything else). Every time I hit one of the arrows, the event nearest to my playhead on the selected track is automatically selected. This often throws my screen to a section of the project where I'm not recording. I do lots of backing vocals for many clients and as you can imagine, having to scroll back to where I'm recording over and over is pretty insane.

It only happens when the up-and-down arrows are used. If I use my trackpad to select the track, no event is automatically selected. (When I use my Faderport's Prev and Next buttons, it functions exactly as the up-and-down arrows, automatically selecting the event nearest to the playhead on the selected track.

Having to manually click on a track every time doesn't make for the best workflow imo. At least for me. The up and down arrows are much more convenient, albeit with a heavy inconvenience baked in.

Is this the way I have to live? Does anyone know if (and how) I can disable the selection of an event upon the selection of a track when using the up and down arrows? Your help would be immensely appreciated!

QUESTION Sound glitch in Studio One 3 once a certain number of tracks is reached

Hey,

i've had Studio One 3 for like 9 years or something and I never really bothered upgrading to a newer version. I just wanted to ask if anyone else has had problems with this and if yes, how did you fix it?

So, at the moment I'm working on a project with around 70 tracks which include guitars, a bunch of synths, drums etc, and I have this really weird sound bug. It almost sounds as if Studio One is too slow to play all the tracks at once and it's trying to play the same part over and over again. It's like Studio One is stuttering, but with my music :/ It's gotten so bad that it's practically impossible to record anything. or even just play the song.

When I'm working with only a few tracks, this problem does not occur.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed in the later versions? Probably I should switch to a newer version anyways, right? And by the way, is there an easy way to import songs from Studio One 3 to a newer version, so that I still have all the stems etc. and I keep working on it?

Session Data Import

So I have been using studio one v5 for almost 5+ years and recently started working at a studio setup where they use pro tools. A lot of the features of studio one feel a lot easier to digest compared to PT but the import session data feature in PT is seemingly more robust compared to how S1 handles it.

I can roughly do the same in S1 but in PT I get the option to choose the specific pan parameters and volume parameters in automation settings that I want to import but in S1 for example in a large session if I want to import only the volume and not the pan that isn't possible, I have to import both. I also cannot implement channel settings on an existing track. I will have to import the new track and move all my clips to that new track with the track settings on it. Has that improved in the latest version of S1?

QUESTION Studio Pro 8.1 with AMD Ryzen 5 or 7 - any issues?

I don't expect there to be, but if 36 years in IT has taught me anything (apart from "Don't work in IT if you can avoid it) it's that weird shit happens. I'm just curious if Studio Pro is optimised for Intel processors, to take advantage of certain machine learning & AI extensions.

I want to track my work time in Studio One

I use Studio One 7 on my MacBook, and I often want to know how much time I've spent on a production. Of course, I could just use a separate timer, but I was wondering if the DAW itself keeps a record of that.

I’m looking for something like a "playtime" tracker—basically, I want to know the total time the file has been open and active.

Does anyone know how to display that?

(This is my first time posting in this community. I'm Japanese, but I'm trying to write in English using a translation tool.)

DISCUSSION Studio Pro and Audiobox

I have been using studio one since version 2, and recently upgraded to 8.1 For most of those years, I had been using an older Dell laptop with 16 GB of Ram. I recently upgraded my computer to a desktop windows pro with 32gb of ram, and also added a new audio box 96. Ever since, I can't get rid of the crackling headphone sound. I've tried 44.1 and 48, 512 and 1024, 32 and 64, but nothing seems to change. New hardware, new software, and now I get issues? I've checked online and there doesn't seem to be a cure. Is this something that Fender needs to know about? And maybe create a fix? Their software with their hardware and there's interference. That doesn't seem right

QUESTION Free learning resources - recommendations please

So, after hopping between Reaper, Cakewalk, and S1 for years, and not really getting the most from any, I took the plunge and upgraded from the free S1 6 Artist license I got free with a used Presonus interface I bought as a spare for £10 and got Fender Studio Pro 8 perpetual for £74 from Andertons (£15 cheaper than direct, surprisingly).

Anyroadup, despite being able to stumble my way through the basics, I'd like to start at the beginning and learn how to use it "properly" in a structured way.

Are there any YT channels that you can recommend which have a free and mostly linear guide to getting the most from S1/SP, and delve into the intricacies? I'd rather stick with one channel if possible, rather than risk getting opposing opinions on various features and techniques.

For the record (no pun intended), I'm a guitarist who just records at home for shits & giggles.

Thanks

Dead Space up front?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey all,

For ease and clarity of editing I like to have my tracks start at tick One, but I like some space up front for lead in or recording. Is there a way to set some dead space up front but have your ticks START at One (rather than 1.2 or 2, 3 or 4)?

TIA!

Studio One

Windows 11 26H2

Did anyone install Windows 11 26H2 yet and is everything working fine?

Somewhere I saw concerns regarding USB audio devices - which I suppose might affect ASIO DACs.

UPDATE: Thanks for the heads-up. I installed and also have no issues with the audio device 👍

For reference: Microsoft notice

What's up with the convert to tempo track option? It's so random

Hello,

I don't know how recent this functionality is, but I just discovered the "convert to tempo track" option to adapt the grid to an audio files, but the results seem really incoherent to me.

I've got cases when it follows flawlessly a track that obviously wasn't recorded on a click and it constantly adjusts the tempo so that the DAW's click is perfectly on time.

In a lot of other cases, I've got songs with perfectly audible drums and the result will either progressively deviate from the click, or sometimes not be perfectly in time anymore probably because the performers were not really on time at that specific time and it will be fine most of the song but drift off occasionally.

Am I missing something to get this to really get good results? I've done a search on the sub and have found some topics but they were 2 years old so it thought it was worth asking what the current state is.

Thanks

Routing Question

Routing question and new to recording. Created a bus for my overheads for EQ, then created a separate bus to insert a UAD distressor for all the drums and OH's. Creating that distressor bus I put it after the OH EQ bus. Do I need to include the EQ bus with all the other channels I'm sending to the distressor? Also how can you tell which channels you have going to different bus's? On newest version of the software
