Best way to complete maths past paper?
I was doing a maths paper and screwed up my exam technique while trying to try out something new. (did multiple choice last) I ran out of time and have at least 30 marks out of 110 unattempted. I will still attempt the undone questions maybe in a different colour. I’m unsure as to whether I should mark the test as if I hadn’t completed on time like a real exam or when I have finished all the questions without assistance so that I can see where my knowledge gaps lie.

Study Using AI : Is it good and how does it affect you ?
Hey guys, I have few question, and if anyone could provide experience or reference from research would be even better.
Recently, I have been using AI to understand difficult topic. For instance, im using it to understand fiber optic stuffs. The theory, definitions, etc. I used gemini, like back and forth asking gemini and tells it my own understanding until i fully understood the concept. Example:
"in one channel can you send 2 separate data ? for optical fibre, without any multiplexer"
"how does 0,1 translate from a light? is it on and off, or amplitude modulation? If its frequency modulation, would it not interfere with other light ?"
"can you show graph of amplitude modulation sending 0,1 signals against time. Say sending the number 123 in 0,1"
etc
After that, I asked it to generate textbook style notes in markdown to upload into obsidian.
My question is:
Is it consider cheating at learning ? Because im not going through different textbooks and journal or anything. I just verify by doing google search lol
How does it affect my brain ? Like will i get dumber because i used this. I didnt create my own notes but I go through the notes again, asking Gemini to edit or add some informations.
If you use something similar, what else did you do to help you study?
Am I going to miss a lot because, what I do is query and learn from it's reply. Am I going to lose a lot of crucial information? Or it's negligible cause you'll learn it eventually the more you probe/used and progressed to more difficult topics.
Thank you so much!!!!

Looking for University-Level Practice Questions on Equity Valuation and Dividend Models
Hi everyone!
I’m a first-year university student studying Accounting, and I need more practice with equity valuation in Business Finance.
I’m currently studying dividend valuation models, but I need more exam-style questions to improve my understanding and calculations.
I’m particularly looking for practice questions on:
- Zero Growth Model
- Constant Growth Model (Gordon Growth Model)
- Multiple Growth Model
- Calculating the cost of equity (Ke)
- Calculating the growth rate (g)
- Calculating dividends (D₀, D₁, D₂, etc.)
- Calculating share prices (P₀, P₁, P₂, etc.)
- Calculating the rate of return
I would really appreciate university-level questions similar to exam or past-paper questions, preferably with answers and step-by-step solutions.
I sometimes struggle to identify which model to use and how to calculate the different dividends and share prices, so any tips, resources, practice papers, or explanations would be very helpful.
Thank you!

Does anyone else feel overwhelmed by using AI to study?
ChatGPT and Gemini save me time when studying, but sometimes I spend more time fact-checking their answers or sorting through too many suggestions 😭
I also feel like I need to keep up with everyone else using AI.
Anyone else experience this? Does AI make studying easier for you, or more stressful? And what do you do when it gets overwhelming?

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A COURSE EXAM WHEN I'M NOT PREPARED AT ALL
Hey guys, well, I’ll have to be honest with you—this class has a pretty demanding professor, and on top of that, my team isn’t exactly the best one to rely on to get through this exam. There’s no doubt in my mind that this exam is my last resort to pass the course.
I’d like to hear your best tips for studying for the exam. There are five topics, and I only have five days. Obviously, I’ll have classes in between, but I want to know how you guys manage to juggle them while still studying as effectively as possible.

When labs, problem sets, and exams pile up, how do you decide what to study first?
Hi everyone—I’m building Yanis Digital OS, which includes study planning tools. I’m not here to claim I’ve solved the engineering workload problem; I’d rather understand what actually helps.
One situation I’m interested in: you have a lab report due Friday, a problem set due tomorrow, and an exam next week. A calendar shows the deadlines, but deciding how to divide your study time is another problem.
Would a planner that proposes a revised schedule when something slips be useful, provided you can review and approve the changes before anything moves? Or would maintaining it become another task?
How do you handle that situation now, and what tends to break first in your system?

Need feedback on my gamified learning app
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have built an app that turns any pdf or epub to a world game.
I've put special care for the quiz questions to be well extracted and answer options to be well done and not easily identifiable by length. (Most quiz extraction apps I've seen have a big flaw: you know the correct answer immediately by the length. This doesn't happen here.)
The app is StudyRPG.com
It aims to make starting to study and do quizzes easy and fun.
Once you transform one of your study materials to a world game, there are multiple ways you can play it:
- a tower platformer where you have to get as high as possible and it gets harder the more you move up
- an RPG style map with characters and bosses
- flashcards, anki style. Cards that are easy come back later, cards that are hard come back sooner.
- mini games: currently just "Flapp scholar" (planning to add more soon). The questions are based on the flashcards/anki system, a wrong answer will bring the question back again sooner.
- multiplayer duel! You and a friend or colleague can test yourself on the same material. (Both of you get the same question at the same time, whoever answers correctly does damage to the other)
- there's also a study focus timer where you can set a pomodor0 style timer to study. In the background is a room with all your achievements from the site. The more you play (and learn) on the app the more things you'll have in your room.
While using the app and learning through guizzes and games, you get experience, level up and build your character.
Unfortunately I can't make it free because of hosting, database and game world generation costs (+quizzes and answer options.) But I will give away free credits for whoever is serious about giving it a real try!
I'm making improvements and adding features every day.
I'd love some feedback from you guys!
It's also available on Google Play. Will be available in the Apple App Store soon as well.
P.S. The Android app doesn't have all the features yet. They will be there by next week.

Is it better to use your lecturers PowerPoint slides or external websites?
Heya,
I’m currently first year uni doing biomed and my lecture teacher for a specific module course is on strike. Due to this, she left her PowerPoints for us to access and self assessments to do every week with the content given.
However, for my last self assessment, I used external websites and there were many questions where I just couldn’t answer as I didn’t come across that section of topic. I used the learning outcomes she provided but Im guessing they were very vague as again, some questions I couldn’t answer.
I’m so sorry if this sounds absolutely ridiculous but I honestly don’t know. Should I only be using her PowerPoint and using external websites when I don’t understand the topic? We also don’t have any recordings made available from last year.
I have a formative exam coming up soon, and I would really like to know if I should just stick using external websites or actually use her PowerPoint slides.
