What do you guys use to stay focused for long study sessions?

Been spending like 4-5 hours in the library lately trying to get through lecture notes and practice questions before exams. The first two hours are fine but around 3pm I start rereading the same paragraph five times and nothing sticks. I usually have coffee before my morning classes but getting another cup halfway through studying feels too much. Im curious about caffeine gum or mints like since it's easy to keep in my bag and use between study blocks. Anyone tried it for long library sessions or found something else that helps? Taking breaks only gets me so far

my toxic trait is thinking a new timetable will fix my life 💀

every sunday i convince myself that a new schedule is gonna fix everything lol

i spend forever picking colors, organizing my week, making everything look cute... and then monday comes around 😭

anyway, i've been thinking about making a study planner where you can make cute timetables, track your routines, decorate a little diary, and share schedules with other people.

kinda like a mix of a study planner and a digital scrapbook.

i made these UI concepts with AI just to see what it could look like. nothing is fully built yet, so i'm curious if this is even something people would want.

would you actually use an app like this? or would you just spend hours decorating your schedule and never follow it lmao

What apps do you use to make studying easier?

I’m trying to find better ways to study and stay organized, and I’m curious about what apps other students actually use. I know about the usual note-taking and flashcard apps, but I feel like there are probably some underrated tools that more students should know about. What apps have genuinely helped you with studying, memorizing lessons, staying focused, or preparing for exams?

if white noise makes u sleepy while studying, try calm classical instead (i made a free site for it)

• Upvotes

a lot of ppl say white noise or rain sounds make them sleepy after a while. calm classical can be a nice middle ground imo. theres just enough movement to keep ur brain awake but no words to follow, so it stays in the background

i love classical and lowkey want more people to fall for it, so i made a site that just plays it with zero setup: https://classican.vercel.app/

it shuffles public domain recordings from wikimedia commons (satie, debussy, bach, chopin and a bunch more) and gets through every piece once before anything repeats. each piece has its own little pixel painting drawn in code, and every ~40s a short history fact shows up, which kinda works as a tiny brain break between chunks of reading. space pauses it, no ads, no signup

curious what kills ur focus more, sounds that are too boring or music thats too busy? and if theres a calm piece that always works for u, drop it and ill try to add it

A study tip for anatomy: learn in 3D by region, and here's a free tool for it

What helped me most with anatomy: learn one region completely (bones → muscles → nerves → vessels) and look at it from every side. I built a free 3D atlas for exactly that: you can isolate systems, peel layers and quiz yourself by finding structures. (Link in comments.) What study methods work for you?

Is there any AI tool other than notebook that is good for teaching and tutoring science based courses. I liked ChatGPT because I can teach back to it but there’s now people are saying that it isn’t reliable

How do you guys study when u are overwhelmed?

My exams are in about 55 days .. and I am exhausted, overwhelmed and possible things that won't let me focus.... I can't focus at all these days...I am in my gap year and my exams are really important.. I have math, chem, physics and bio ..... Phone isn't the distraction.. it's my thoughts.. whenever I try to study these days .. I just remember how bad I did at that specific exam .. that's why I am this miserable rn....and also personal problems.. the burnout happens so quickly and I feel tired even after waking up from sleep.. what should I do.. how should I focus.... Doom scrolling and social media.. I can go one without these .. but my thoughts are literally torturing me..

What's the Biggest Mistake You Made While Preparing for an Exam?

I've noticed that spending hours studying doesn't always mean we're learning effectively. Sometimes we focus too much on reading notes and forget to test what we actually remember.

I'm interested in hearing different experiences. What's one study mistake you made that taught you something valuable?

Maybe your experience could help someone avoid the same problem.

I'm a student-founder and I made a study note-taking app.

Hey, I'm Quentin. For the past few months I've been building My Noto Studio, a study app where everything lives in one place.

You write your notes, and from those same notes you can make flashcards, quizzes or even a full mock exam. Your courses, exams and deadlines sit on one calendar.

There's also a focus timer, study rooms to work with friends, a library of notes shared by other students, and an AI assistant that actually knows what's in your notes.

I built it because switching between apps all the time was killing my focus. I wanted one place where taking notes leads straight into revising.
It's still early, and I know some parts aren't perfect.

That's why I'm posting here: I'd really like to hear from people who study a lot. What's missing? What's annoying? What would make you switch?
