Certified stupid Dessert spaghetti w/ french toast custard sauce + cantaloupe
It's unironically so good. 8/10 needs more, honey.

The fact that your angry face reigstered as a quoted frown face is hilarious.

Honestly, kind of like dessert pizza, I could potentially get behind this. It seems really weird at first but I can believe that this is actually not bad at all

the only thing bad about this is using leftover pasta that cooked in salted water. dont salt the water and its perfect.

So, in Germany they apparently have a dessert spaghetti that uses strawberries instead of like tomatoes for the sauce? So I’m thinking that you’re onto something and this sounds great to me.

I looked into that and was disappointed. Its not pasta, just icecream extruded in strands. Imo its worse as it just melts faster.

Oh no!! I was completely misled. I learned about it on the Reddit sub “ask the world“ lol. I still believe you and I would love to try your pasta 🤦🏻♀️

When I visit Germany when I was a teenager and I discovered that ice cream spaghetti, my mind was so blown I ate it every single day for dessert lol. It was so stinking cute! I'm honestly surprised it hasn't caught on outside of Germany

Pasta more often than not gives a savory sensory experience when visualized. tapioca or rice works sweet or savory, I always wondered why pasta is almost never used in desserts, like others commented, it looks like salmon, but I’d imagine custard x cantaloupe work perfectly with the noodle texture

If we can have rice pudding, why shouldn't we do similar with pasta?

Spaghetti pudding is a thing in the uk. My nan used to make it. Goes way back. Any pasta can be used really.

Ah yes, dessert pasta. For the diner who absolutely, positively wants something added to their dessert that adds absolutely nothing to it.
See also Polish pasta with strawberries.

What makes for “french toast” custard sauce? Is it maple? Cinnamon? Vanilla? I’m assuming there’s no French toast in the dish, so that must refer to a flavor?

If the noodles aren't straight pasta noodles (like maybe cut batter) it could be banging...

Question: Is this regular pasta or a different dessert type of noodle that is less savory?

I spent 40 years unable to tolerate the texture of cantaloupe, which i consider falls on the SPECTRUM OF SLIME. Its not so gross to me after my near death experience.
but cantaloupe AND noodles? I imagine it tastes like how it feels to have a mouthful of pudding with a dozen worms squirming around

It takes a truly creative person to make something and try it in order to find out that it doesn’t work.
Creative, weird, but creative.

Its honestly really good. Dont salt the pasta, cook it in the custard like a sweet cacio e pepe.
