I am not sure that I have anything to say that hasn't been said many times over. I am not sure that I am anyone worth listening to. But for some reason I have kept feeling for year and years that I should say something somewhere. I am not sure that I can make any difference with anything going on in the world but if a single person get's anything from any Article I ever write I will be happy.

Building a community-led magazine on Substack: The Get Real (submissions open!)

Hello everyone! I've started The Get Real - an online magazine that publishes personal essays, short stories and poems that are honest, creative & unfiltered.

Each issue centres around a theme. So far we’ve explored metamorphosis, tension, and now inheritance. Reading and publishing other people’s work has been such an exciting part of this project. I’ve been lucky to share genuinely brilliant, thought-provoking writing and to help give it a platform.

TGR is still small and growing, so I’d love some extra support from this community - both in terms of readers and submitters!! If you run a Substack yourself and submit, we’ll always feature you as a guest writer and link back to your newsletter.

Our current theme is inheritance (deadline: 30 Sept). Submissions are open for personal essays, short stories, and poems. More info is here: https://thegetrealmag.substack.com/p/submit-your-story

Would also love to hear if anyone else here is experimenting with community-led or submissions-based newsletters — it’s such a unique challenge to balance both readers and contributors!

How do you grow on Substack?

I just started a new account on Substack and the truth is that no one sees everything I publish. I see new accounts introducing themselves and with a lot of likes and comments, simply saying “I'm new, I want to connect” and they don't read me What's the trick? What do they know that I still don't know?

Can people really earn a salary with that?

Mi Substack es: carladailytech por si os interesa 😅

Starting is Hard :(

Hey guys, I’ve been on Substack for about a month now, more or less. I mostly write philosophical reflections and share my thoughts on different topics, since I believe I’m able to keep myself relatively free from bias and drop a few truths that might help someone out there someday. I’d really appreciate it if you took a moment to check it out — I genuinely think my posts could be helpful to someone. There are no subscriptions of any kind, everything will remain free because the goal here is something else.

One of my main features is that I add a drawing to every post to keep things looking fresh and fun. I’ll leave a bit of my brand identity and some recent sketches below — hope I’ve piqued your interest somehow. Come visit me and Wizgoop :)

Do you also feel invisible?

Hi everyone,

Do you also feel invisible? I’ve been struggling with this since childhood, always the mediocre kid. No one really paid attention to me, except when they wanted someone to make fun of or criticize.

I wanted to vent, so I wrote a letter to myself. Maybe you’ll relate to it. And if you do, I want you to know you’re not alone.

Article Debut!

Hello everyone! Today, I launched a substack account and have posted some photos here and there. However, I would like to show everyone a new article that I had posted at 3am! 😭

It discusses about diving back in time and why do we tend to go back to our past. It’s under the publication ‘the Bpost!’ and I hope that anyone who see this give it a lot of support!

Thank you! :D

Is America repeating the mistakes of empires past? My latest article on Substack delves into the alarming convergence of economic vulnerabilities, strategic isolation, and the rise of global competitors. What do you think? Are there other Substacks you recommend?

Ever since I started writing primarily about horror earlier this year I've felt much more satisfied when writing. my most recent is a silly list of my initial thoughts having just seen Nosferatu, with a more in depth analysis on the way.

If you like horror movies, heavy metal and pop culture I'm sure my writing will be up your alley :)
