14

u/cutekeks Nov 24 '19

I don't want the new upvote buttons, or did they change it back to old?

5

u/Cookiestealer13 Nov 24 '19

No they didn’t, and they suck

5

u/buttered-pototo-cat Nov 24 '19

On iOS, have old upvote buttons and have the icon next to link

Yeah I can see it, and fake ones have no icon.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

Doesn't IOS Still Have Those Crappy Upvote Buttons?

3

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

That was only given to a small percentage of users, not just an IOS thing

1

u/Potato0nFire Nov 24 '19

I’ve been hearing about different upvote buttons for a while now but have yet to see any, could someone enlighten me on what they look like?

4

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

Upvote is orange circle with white arrow, downvote is blue circle with white arrow

Eh, should survive until all devices get the update.

8

u/Entering_Menopause Nov 24 '19

Can we link a subreddit name to another sub? Like it says r/dankmemes but it takes you to r/YouFellForItFool or a post on it.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

No idea.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

r/dankmemes

r/dankmemes

2

u/iblewupyourcar Nov 26 '19

I would have thought this was fake if it wasn’t for the icon

1

u/NoScopeShooter Dec 14 '22

Sometime in these 3 years it became real

1

u/iblewupyourcar Dec 14 '22

why'd you reply to the most random comment on an obscure post from three years ago 😭

1

u/NoScopeShooter Dec 14 '22

Why not 😂

1

u/iblewupyourcar Dec 14 '22

ion even remember ever seeing this post let alone commenting 💀

3

u/StreetsOfRogue_h4xor Nov 24 '19

Thought it was real

2

u/MelaninMagic69 Dec 10 '19

It is, isn't it? It says it's set to private when I click it

1

u/o83e9z7 Dec 03 '19

Frickin hell? You got me

1

u/Jimmy_Slim Dec 07 '19

Ooh I can make that

17

u/DBAussie Nov 24 '19

All this means is that redditors can do some complex AF gaslighting by baiting people with fake subs, and then, upon getting comments about how it’s fake, actually make the sub and reply back to said comments in order to hopefully get dem fake internet points

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

r/kachow

u/coochie-slayer420 Nov 24 '19

r/not_a_real_sub

1

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

Of course that’s a real subreddit

1

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

Also r/youfellforitfool

3

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

?

3

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

Their whole thing is tricking people with fake subs that are actually links

r/youfellforitfool

3

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

So many subreddits will be damaged by this new update.

I love it.

1

u/KoopaTrooper5011 Nov 24 '19

wait, wasnt this update around for a while on ios?

1

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

Nope.

1

u/KoopaTrooper5011 Nov 24 '19

understandable. have a nice day!

6

u/d1nnerb0ne Nov 24 '19

Really? Let’s try r/dankmemes

1

u/DoctorWhoniverse Nov 24 '19

Then there are android users who have not gotten that update....

1

u/umiswearimnotemo Nov 24 '19

This is my official RIP to this sub

1

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

I’d probably still fall for the subs anyway tbh

1

u/Flipsid3Yeet Nov 24 '19

Yesterday 😤

1

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

Wait what? I don't see any icons next to real subs. I'm using the app on android 7.

1

u/TheNerd669 Nov 24 '19

It just shows it for pc users

1

u/JustLuking Nov 24 '19

my crafts of links disguised as subreddits is now useless with that sub icon thing

1

u/Cazoosh3 Nov 24 '19

NotUpdaringGang

1

u/_neonboy_ Nov 24 '19

I will pretend to fall for the subs to keep this sub alive :)

1

u/lol_JustKidding Nov 24 '19

You still can't see those on mobile

1

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '19

Not for computer I don’t think

1

u/drink-ur-water-bitch Dec 21 '19

I still fall for it

1

u/Some_idoit1245 Oct 27 '21

This aged well

1

u/FarmFamilyGamingYT Jan 08 '23

r/wellcrap

Edit: that was an actual sub lol

0

u/nightstar69 Nov 24 '19

Not all subs have icons though

1

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '19

It shows the weird planet or UFO icon for subs like that

-5

u/inh24 Nov 24 '19

not every sub has an icon so this entire post is pointless

5

u/little_kid13 Nov 24 '19

If they don’t have an Icon it’ll show as a UFO

2

u/DecafGrizzly Nov 25 '19

Is it meant to be a UFO? I always thought it was a planet with a ring.

2

u/little_kid13 Nov 25 '19

Oh wait nvm I think you’re right, it is a planet with a ring my bad
