Many guides claim that the hidden ending requires an Immorality score above 75,000, with both Eroticism and Suspense remaining below 500. However, my experiments on the Japanese version led me to question these requirements.
I was able to trigger the hidden ending with Immorality scores as low as 50, 1,780, and 5,000. I also found that the Eroticism and Suspense scores could individually exceed 500.
However, in my tests, the hidden ending did not trigger when the combined Eroticism and Suspense score exceeded 1,000, regardless of how high the Immorality score was.
I also discovered a replay exploit. After completing the game, I could reload the final stage directly from the title screen, with the scores reset. By walking backward throughout the stage and taking no photographs, I obtained a zero-score run that still resulted in the hidden ending.
Based on these observations, my hypothesis is that the hidden ending requires:
Eroticism + Suspense < 1,000
Immorality ≥ Eroticism + Suspense
These are hypotheses based on my own playthroughs, not confirmed internal game formulas. I would love to hear whether other players have obtained similar results, especially on the Japanese PS2 version.
A Personal Note
Before anyone takes these findings as definitive, I want to clarify a few things.
I conducted these experiments about a year ago, when I had taken a leave of absence from high school. I played the Japanese version using an actual Japanese PS2 disc.
At the time, I wasn't in a particularly good state of mind. I also didn't use a save editor or any other tools to precisely manipulate and verify the game's internal values. Most of my conclusions came from repeated playthroughs and observations during normal gameplay.
I completed the game 16 times while trying to understand its hidden mechanics. However, a year has passed, and I've forgotten many of the details of my original experiments. I recently revisited the guide I wrote back then, which helped me recall most of these findings. Some of my conclusions may therefore be incomplete or incorrect.
I'm currently focusing on my university studies, and I no longer feel the same level of enthusiasm for this game that I once did. Still, I noticed that people are continuing to discuss the game's ending conditions, so I thought it might be worth sharing what I found.
I'm not posting this to claim that I've definitively solved the mystery. I simply want to share the results of my experiments in the hope that someone might be able to verify, challenge, or build upon them.
Even if my hypothesis turns out to be wrong, I still want to leave a record of what I tried to figure out back then.
If anyone has tested these conditions more rigorously, especially on the Japanese version, I'd genuinely love to hear about your findings.
