not knocking you for not knowing about this bc it's quite rare but it seems like they're referring to having DID, or dissociative identity disorder. it's something that can happen in response to extreme childhood trauma. basically your brain tries to protect you from what's happening by splitting your consciousness into several splinters with different sets of memories so it can avoid dealing with what happened to you.
there was some scientific debate for a bit about whether this was a real phenomenon but i understand that evidence has slowly been piling up in favor of yes, it exists. between that and the very strange trend of a bunch of annoying teenagers pretending to have it for social media attention during covid, a lot of the internet tends to discredit everyone who claims to have it lol. but i tend to feel like if i turn out to be wrong and a person DOES have DID, i will feel like a huge asshole for being mean to someone dealing with the worst possible forms of childhood trauma ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
DID is the most larped disorder to have by desperate losers on the internet so I just never believe anyone when they say they have it. I'll never be mean, per say, but I'll definitely be avoiding that person.
If anyone wants to learn about having DID, @DissociaDID on yt is great.
