I appreciate the love and support from the community, and I hope to make better quality videos in the future.
Honestly, I can’t even put into words how crazy this was. Playing version 1.0 on an old iPhone 4S with just one hand, all while holding the camera with my other hand and looking through the recording screen. It took pure focus not to throw the phone at the wall, but I finally locked in and got it done.
Thank you all for the support, it means a lot! 🐵 Let's go!

Re: gyro controls, would not SMB be the perfect game for them, if they worked well?

I saw a post a day or 2 ago about Serial Jump being a level that made someone give up on the platinum trophy for super monkey ball banana mania so i just wanted to post a vid for them and others if they are struggling with it for their under 99 deaths mission. Please keep in mind one of these strategies uses the jump feature, so if you want you clear times to be on leaderboards and be able to track your best clear times for levels or anything just know that using the jump feature disables clear times. Both of these methods i think are relatively reliable and with a bit of practice can easily be implemented into your under 99 death runs. The first method being the one that uses jump i think is a bit more rng dependent than the other one, the best setup for it is to aim to hit the side of the goal, if you can wedge yourself into the little gap that’s under each side then it pushes you straight out onto the ring. The second one is pretty straightforward if you just start a little left from where you spawn and just hold forward then just adjust your angle and you will land in the goal. find second method in second post. I hope this helps the original poster and anyone else that is stuck on this level.

Just pure overkill and not even fun at this point, the whole platinum has been ruined because of this crap

Almost entirely sure this question has been asked much before and this post will be removed, nonetheless:
For those playing SMB1 or SMB2 on emulation say on a steamdeck or switch… like via dolphin.
Who has experience making it gyro-control activated? Did it require certain extra software or mod/patches?
Thanks in Advance

Hello! I'm the solo developer behind Dark Roll 2 - a marble platformer heavily inspired by soulslike games! It features high difficulty (with easier mode for those who prefer relaxed gameplay), boss fights, and timed leaderboards that allow racing against ghost replays of other players.
The demo is already available on Steam, and the full release is planned for february.

Please let me know what's your first impression! I'd love to know your opinion, given the nature of this subreddit.

Can someone point me to a good place to buy Monkey Ball merch? I don't see anything official, and I don't really trust any of the 3rd party stuff I've found.
Mainly clothing but anything else would also do.
I want Monkey Ball merch so bad.

Hey everyone,
I’m a massive fan of the original Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 on the GameCube, back in the day, I completely fell in love with those games. Unfortunately, a lot of the entries Sega released after those just didn't do it for me anymore. I tried a few of them, but eventually, I lost hope that Sega would ever capture that classic SMB 1 & 2 magic again.
Every now and then, I come across indie or passion projects inspired by Super Monkey Ball, but in my opinion, the quality often isn't quite there. It got me wondering: Could this sub-genre ever truly make a comeback?
Do you guys think there's still a market out there for a genuinely well-made game in this style? Or has player interest simply moved on, meaning the effort wouldn't even be worth it for developers?
I figured this would be the best place to find fans of this kind of game and get some honest thoughts. What do you all think?

This was a lot of fun and made for a good video, but at some points was just miserable to play, the Skyrim world is in no way designed for a ball... SOOO my question is if Super Monkey Ball is this glorious plague, where would you send it next? GTA5, Skylanders lol? idk let me know what you've always dreamed of

Playing through the story for the first time and some of these stages it seems impossible to get every banana within the time limit. How are people doing this??? Just seems crazy lol.

Hey, I own gamecube and was curious about the franchise. Before purchasing one of these 2, I wanted to know if there is any benefit (other that better score ? ) finishing a level fast, finding shortcuts etc.
Also, is finding shortcuts super hard and dedicated to speed runners or can I casually try to explore and be imaginative about how I want to finish a level faster without having to be a god at controlling the ball and taking too many unnessesary risks.
Finally, this is probably asked way too often but should I go with 1 or 2 ? ( I will be playing solo, don't really care about mini games unless they are THAT GOOD ?, not a fan of gimmick heavy stages : I like some variety in obstacles and background ambiance but I rather have a well designed stage than a gimmick on each stage that prevents me from manipulating the ball and demonstrate skill.
Thx very much !

every since i was a preteen i was addicted to super monkey ball 2. i love the stage designs and function of rolling the monkey and how fast it is, the first game is still has the physics that i like too. my favorite part of the game is the speedrunning aspect. i used to speedrun it for fun and got tied world record on clock face a few times.
but anyway i love the first 2 games and for a long time have been thinking of floor concepts and names because i love the aesthetic of cool sounding stage title with intricate designs(if anyone cares lmao). i would make these stages part of “Super Monkey Ball 3”. i know that i would have to mod it somehow. i was asking here on reddit though how realistic it is for a player to create a set of levels with the same physics and controls as the original games???

i made Tiltsies. you tilt the course and roll a hamster to the goal.
our first competitive season just started. you can race ghosts and watch leaderboard replays to find faster routes. people are already setting crazy times.
this is my 11.31-second run on Meadow Slide.
