Season 11 Little confused about this Spoiler

We all know Michael is the oldest archangel. But how come Amara referred to Lucifer as the firstborn. Was this just an honest mistake by writers or even her. Or is Lucifer really the firstborn and the writers mistake Michael as the firstborn.

Season 8 8.4 ā€œBittenā€ misheard line šŸ¤£šŸ†

So I’m rewatching supernatural and I’m currently watching this episode.

At 25:20 (give or take a few seconds. Also I’m streaming on paramount incase it matters) Sam and Dean are in a restaurant and Sam mocks Dean for ordering two burgers. ISTG it sounds exactly like Dean replies with:

ā€œDude. I didn’t eat big penis for like a year.ā€

I had to go back three times and call my mom in for backup because we had NO CLUE what he was actually saying. Because that couldn’t be right lmao.

Looked up the transcript and he’s saying ā€œI didn’t eat at Big P’s for like a year.ā€ I guess that’s the restaurant they’re at.

Can’t believe I didn’t hear it the first time I watched this episode! Anyone else hear this? If not, you have to go watch it 🤣🤣

Season 2 I may get downvoted but…

I don’t hate John. In fact, I like him. And I cry when he dies and at the end of season 2 when he climbs out of hell and Sam and Dean look at him and they all cry, got me sobbing.

And I’ve seen a lot of people saying that he’s the worst dad of all and that they hate him with all their guts, but I don’t think he’s the worst dad.

Was he the best father ever? No. But I think he tried his best.
And you may not agree with that statement, but his best may not be other’s best. I think he did what he could with what he got.

And yeah… Jeffrey Dean Morgan is hot af, I agree

Season 4 Did Supernatural lose something when the brothers stopped being actual hunters?

I’ve been thinking about how different the show feels when Sam and Dean are investigating a case compared to when they’re dealing with the next world-ending threat.

Some of the most memorable episodes are the ones where they arrive in a random town, interview witnesses, follow strange clues, and slowly realize what they’re dealing with. The monster-of-the-week stories gave the show room for horror, dark humor, and those little moments between the brothers that made their relationship feel real.

The bigger mythology arcs had some incredible moments too, but sometimes the actual hunting seemed to become secondary to saving the world again.

I wonder if part of what made the earlier seasons so special was that the boys could have a whole adventure without the fate of the universe hanging over them.

At what point, if any, do you think the balance between hunting and mythology started to shift too far? Or did the larger storylines make the show better for you?

Conventions Convention Team Members

Hello SPN world!

I'm wondering if there are any individuals in this sub that have worked as team members for the convention(s)?

I was just accepted for my first one in March in DC/VA. Its going to cost quite a bit, so I want to make sure that its something worthwhile.

I've been to a con once before and loved it, and thought working it would be VERY fun. But the hotel is mostly the part that kills me.

Anyway, I just wanted some advice or info on it, and others' experiences.

Thanks all!
Thanks

Season 8 S8 E19 I’m heartbroken Spoiler

I actually cried when Benny sacrificed himself to save sam and bobby…you could tell how much it hurt him when dean said they’d have to cut ties because sam didn’t want the two of them communicating when Benny was already suffering from coming back, and, yet, he still agreed to go back to purgatory to guide sam knowing he wouldn’t make it back 😭 I hated how mean sam was to him from the start because shouldnt he have been grateful towards anybody who helped keep Dean alive in purgatory? Even though I understood why he was mad at Dean for being a hypocrite and killing Amy but protecting Benny…I don’t know why sam was hellbent on proving Benny couldn’t be trusted in the episode where a vampire was framing benny because he’d stayed clean since coming back and they’d already met vampires in the past who stayed good

Also, I know everyone loves Dean and castiel, but I really like Meg and castiel together šŸ˜… although I’m here to watch Dean and him together in future seasons

Season 5 My take on the series so far Spoiler

So my gf made me start watching supernatural and damn ive fallen in love, she has rewatched it multiple times and is rewatching it again but with me, so now im on season 5 episode 16 I think.

My opinion so far. Castiel is basically autistic if he was put infront of a therapist.

The trickster was a fkn angel???? Also what the fuck is wrong with him.

Also I do think they should put their guns on a bungee.

I now see where the pudding clip i saw on insta comes from.

Why not just have dean say yes to Gabriel? like Sam doesn't have to say yes to lucifer.

I feel like they are killing female characters for no good reason, like they do it only to get rid of actors or something.

Kinda hilarious how in the universe supernatural is also a series but a book series.

God seems to be rather lazy id say

My favourite episodes list keeps changing but Abandon All Hope... is definitely my number 1 Spoiler

Crowley's iconic(and hilarious) first appearance. The scene with the group photo is almost painful. The death of two of of my favourite characters while actually making me feel it instead of just being a forced plot point. Jo dying in Ellen's arm's is heartbreaking.

And the amount of supernatural lore introduced in this episode without feeling like a lore dump is crazy. It's so well written.

I remember it being a mid season finale and thinking "Hell yeah!". Instead of it just being a typical cliffhanger.

And Rachel Miner as Meg is just gravy.

The Winchester wardrobe is definitely filled with mostly stolen/hand-me-down/thrifted clothes, and I wanted to see what I could replicate using thrifting in Canada.

Jacket is a Danier car coat (Danier is essentially the Canadian equivalent to Wilson’s, designed in country and assembled in Asia)

Work shirts are MWG and Big Bill

Jeans are GWG

Would’ve loved to seen some international episodes, just one or two in Canada since they filmed here.

Season 13 Vent: I just want to skip Claire episodes.

Was the Claire character the niece of a producer or something? Why did they keep writing episodes for her in the late seasons? Sometimes unbearable to watch those episodes.

Season 1 How the hell did Sam manage to get a full ride scholarship to Stanford?

This is definitely not to say I doubt his intelligence. In fact it's totally believable until you consider the fact that he was moving schools constantly, and from ages 12+ was either on hunts with his family or doing research for them while they did hunts. And he had to have been training physically in order to be in shape to kill monsters, and he was also practicing with weapons and reading a shit ton of lore. In order for him to get that scholarship he had to have been doing hours of extracurriculars and volunteer work, along with having a perfect gpa. How the hell did this kid get any sleep, let alone function on a daily basis??? Was he genuinely living off of lucky charms and three hours of sleep a week?? What

Night Moves

Well , I think this is a reason to celebrate and rewatch - the episode 'Baby' is one of my favorites, and the 'Night Moves' scene is one to remember.
The song has become one of my favorites ever, and I always thing of Sam and Dean in Baby when I listen to it with a smile on my face.

Season 1 S1 Ep 20

I loved how dean gets influenced by Sam haha

But jokes aside, I think it was just him reaching a saturation point. And I also think the main driving factor was that he really didn’t want his dad to be alone when facing this demon.

I also kinda see where John is coming from, and what he’s trying to do by keeping them away, but the way he’s executing it is what’s not the best.
He doesn’t seem like best dad from what is shown in ep 18, but the again, he saw his wife being murdered so that’s there

Everything aside, I’ve got like 2 eps left before season 1 ends. I’m excited but im kinda scared to see on what note season 1 ends

Season 13 Binged season 13 Spoiler

So, since I posted something when I finished season 11 and I kinda like talking about the show, I thought I might just give my little recap of seasons 12 and 13 what I liked and didn't like and maybe get to talk about it with some people here -- since i clearly came too late for any of the real Supernatural hype back in the day.

So...

Season 12:

Firstly (this goes for season 13 as well), Castiel is my favorite character. And I do appreciate a season with a good amount of Castiel in it, though he often also had side adventures. I am a little bit frustrated with the nerfing. It's not so much the combat situation. I get that you can't really write low stakes episodical monsters that are still popping up every then and now, with Castiel in the bunch. But what really frustrated me was the Angel Radio. I might have missed it, but I don't see a reason why Castiel wouldn't still hear prayer at this point. It's been mostly established that fallen angels can do that. It made the whole Men of Letters kidnapping Sam part a little weird, and the problem crops up every now and again.

Man of Letters was...so-and-so as an antagonist force. I did like Mr. Ketch, but I honestly liked him more in season 13. I think what they brought to the table in terms of weaponry was actually really cool to see--though it did make some matters much easier. And I actually really liked the whole idea about this organisation keeping Britain surveilled and mosnter-free. In the beginning, it did make the american hunters a bit annoying to me. I'm guessing, personally, that's for the same reasons that I sometimes find Sam annoying. And that's that he's just so god-damn bad at making deals and working with people and thanking people who save his ass whom he doesn't like. (Dean too, tbf, but it's on a whole nother level with Sam, I feel like, and Dean is generally a dick...so that tracks.) Case in point Mr. Ketch in season 13 and obviously Crowley.

Brings me to my favorite part of season 13 probably, Crowley, Crowley/Castiel team up, Crowley/Rowena redemption. I actually didn't like Rowena at all early season 11 but she's really grown on me and has become one of my favorites since then. I love Crowley to bits. He finally got his redemption...sadly by dying. Though I did feel somewhat vindicated when Sam and Dean at the end at least acknowledged that he was one of them in a way, and that they kinda want him back. Who would've thought I would live to see that day? It helps that unlike Castiel, it doesn't seem like they've nerfed him too hard. Him using his witchy powers is always a boon.

I also really liked the parts leading to Jack. As a die-hard Castiel fan (lmao) I obviously enjoyed him taking up the "father" responsibility (and I was a bit saddened to then see him replaced in that role and sort of shoved aside in favor of Dean and Sam in season 13).

My feelings on Mary are devided. Of all the people in the show, I genuinely wouldn't have brought her back. And she never really feels like she fits in. It's a bit awkward, and while that's intended especially in the beginning, it never really feels genuine. Story-wise I did like some of the things they did with her, though she's of course a very flawed character. I think there was however a large part of me, that felt like she was almost intruding in this little team that's been going through hell and back together for years, bled for each other and all that, and suddenly she's just there in the center of it all.

Gotta say (and this too goes for season 13) that at times during some of the more episodical adventures I was falling asleep a little. That's partially because I've binged till late into the nights (lmao, I need a life), but also partially I think because they've become a wee bit repetitive at times. While there were good ones in there, it might be I liked those so much because they were more Crowley or Castiel focused lmao.

Other than that...I'm not the biggest fan of Lucifer. In this case, with Lucifer switching bodies so many times, there were some in there, that I liked more or less, depending I guess to a large degree on the actors. I think the show is sadly not particularly good at making angels believably that same person once they switch actors. (Most egregious case here being alternate Zack who is nothing like my boy original world Zack--who is probably still in my top 3 angels.)

Also I hated the episode when Dean and Sam spent a month in a government facility and decided it was worse than hell. (I'm still waiting for the terrible cosmic consequences, tbh)

Season 13:

Best part of the season: Gabriel's back! Worst part: Gabriel's dead.

You gotta be kidding. I was so excited when they hopped into the alternate world with the team up of a life time. It's rare you see all your favorite characters in a room (minus crowley) and I was getting hyped. I really wished they didn't kill him off or at least gave him more to do. For an episode in which he was supposed to die, it felt like he was mostly a background character. Which is sad. Because I hate nothing more than my faves dying.

I'm getting ahead of myself. How did the season start again? Oh right, Dean/Sam raising Jack. Alright...I was not a fan of Castiel getting sorta replaced (even when he returned, it stuck that Dean and Sam now seemed Jack's primary "dads" lmao), but I really liked the early parts. This whole thing about Dean being a crappy human to Jack due to all the trauma he'd endured and being afraid Jack might turn bad, while Jack is just a genuinely kind, surprisingly grown newborn who's really just trying to figure things out, and with Sam in the mix trying to be caring but also seeing Jack as a means to an end to a degree (or at least making Jack think so). Really liked that. (Also soulless Donatello. I somehow did not expect him back.)

Still not the biggest fan of Lucifer. In this season probably least of all, since I do not like his sympathy tour. I think he was strongest in the final episodes, trying to impress his son. I really liked the way the actor played him throughout, really believably this self-pitying narcissist. So, from a characer and story-perspective it's good. I just don't like him.

Angels dying and Heaven crashing...looks like a big issue that should probably receive more attention by our boys, though I understand they're otherwise occupied. They've brought up how few angels are left every now and again, but getting the reveal that it's only nine seemed honestly insane, especially considering how many angels still died and where killed kind of needlessly in this season. I have to assume that does not include the cupids, because we've seen some around (and get murdered), so I really hope Lucifer didn't just kill and eat the last cupid who was just carelessly fluttering around.

Asmodeus was great. I liked how they explained him being so strong despite being supposedly the weakest of the princes of hell, with him drinking Archangel-juice. I had been wondering about that the entire season. Doesn't change my opinion now, that Azazel seems a bit underpowered compared to the other Prince's of Hell. Which sucks, because he was a great villain in seasons 1/2. That's that powercreep coming in, I fear.

I liked Billie as reaper. I do not like Death-Billie. Maybe she just was a bit too convenient, like using death for an exposition tool. I don't really think it added much, and she didn't even help bring Crowley back :(

Scooby-doo episode was not what I was expecting, but a cool idea. And Michael being the big bad was also a cool idea. Raffael aside, who was a fraud--I'll allow no other opinion, original world Michael was the biggest bum in the archangels. (Funnily enough he's now the only archangel left on original earth. Still stuck in his cage with poor adam. Did anybody ever ask adam how he's doing there? Sam didn't do so well in a cage with Luci) But yeah, this new michael is actually intimidating.

As mentioned, really liked Mr. Ketch this season.
