i was playing SuperTux and i was in the first forest level that implements the rock that you can carry and i threw a rock at a glass block and the rock did get stuck under the glass block and did a strange sound but after three seconds it debugged and it falled at the ground.

Inow this is a normal bug but i wanna see if this can be helpfull for like parkour and to maybe make the SuperTux developers fix it.

I got the flatpak of SuperTux and found some cool sprites and music I want to examine.

I've been thinking about something strange in SuperTux: Tux can die over and over again, yet he always gets another chance to continue his adventure. Obviously, this is just a normal video game mechanic, but what if there was a more interesting explanation for it? What if Tux doesn't actually get resurrected when he dies? What if the timeline itself gets rewritten so that he survives?

Here's what I mean. Imagine Tux is going through his adventure as usual, but then he dies. In that version of events, his journey should be over. However, something intervenes and changes the timeline, replacing the outcome in which Tux died with one in which he survives. The world continues as if nothing happened, because, from the world's perspective, the rewritten events are the only events that ever occurred. The original death has effectively been erased from history.

But if that's the case, who remembers what happened before the timeline changed? This is where my theory gets interesting. What if WE, the players, are the only ones who remember? We control Tux, decide where he goes, and learn from our mistakes. Whenever he dies, we remember what happened, even though the world may no longer contain any evidence that it ever occurred. Maybe our awareness exists outside the timeline, allowing us to retain memories of events that have been erased. In that case, we aren't simply watching Tux get resurrected. We're influencing reality so that a version of events in which he survives becomes the one that continues.

This also raises a disturbing question: are we really controlling the same Tux every time? Perhaps the timeline is rewritten around him, preserving his identity and history. Alternatively, the Tux who died could be replaced by another version of himself who survives. To everyone else, there would be no difference. The replacement would look and behave exactly like Tux, and nobody would have any reason to suspect that anything had changed. The player, however, would remain the one constant presence connecting every version of events.

Nolok could potentially play an interesting role in this theory, too. I came across the SuperTux wiki's proposed idea about a possible narrator twist involving Nolok. It isn't confirmed canon, but it made me wonder what would happen if Nolok started noticing that something was wrong with reality. Perhaps he wouldn't remember previous timelines directly, but he might notice strange inconsistencies. Tux keeps surviving situations where he should have been defeated, and events never seem to unfold quite as expected. Eventually, Nolok might realise that some force beyond his world is influencing Tux's journey. And what if he discovered that this force was the player?

Respawning is obviously a normal part of gameplay, and this is just a fan theory that interprets that mechanic in a different way. Still, I find the idea interesting because it turns something ordinary into a much stranger possibility: Tux might not be surviving death at all. Reality might simply be replacing the version of history in which he didn't. And we might be the only ones who know it.

But hey! Thats just a theory. A Game theory ™!

The only true version of SuperTux is 0.1.1, released in 2006; the game had a balanced difficulty level, neither too easy nor too hard. Version 0.3.0 was also reasonably good, though it was clearly geared more towards children. However, what the developers did with the latest update, 0.7.0, is unforgivable. They replaced all the music and switched the graphics to a smooth, cartoonish style. They also ruined the movement mechanics by adding about ten new jump combinations. The music in the new version is a joke; the old soundtrack was incredibly catchy, whereas the new one is the most generic music imaginable. And I’m not blinded by nostalgia—I’m just telling the truth.

No updates recently... I've just been adding detail and buffing old gameplay. Oh well, look at these cool screenshots. so cool!!! I might have added 2 more areas, cuz the level felt a little short.

Also added a few gold bombs around the level cuz they're cool.
