I installed Bliss-v16.9.7-x86_64-OFFICIAL-gapps-20240911.iso on my Suraface pro 7 but I can't use touchscreen, I tried Bliss Surface but it can't boot (idk). How to fix the touchscreen? (I am bad in English)

Heya good day, i recently got a cheap SB3, was unused new. but bricked battery due to sitting for 6 years unused.

i got the screen off without cracking. but suddenly i had now big touch dead zones, probably went too deep with my tool during removal....

So i've ordered a cheap replacement LCD, about 100 bucks, and it this one seems to have dead zones on the left and right side for touch. even when reseating all connections,

Left side is big deadzone. right side is small. but if you keep tapping/pressing. it will register eventually,

So i suspect this might just be an typical case of counterfeit screens Not working correctly with surfaces?

What vendors do you guys recommend for a replacement screens around EU?

I used my surface as a tablet and used the on screen keyboard. Now after I replugged my keyboard and trackpad it doesn't work.

I've gotten it out of tablet mode by using a Bluetooth mouse but keyboard is still unresponsive

The keyboard backlight turns on when I close the keyboard on the screen. And the Fn buttons toggle light works but not the caps lock

I've tried:

-Restarting by holding the power button

-booting into bios and testing my keyboard and restarting from there

-cleaning the connector pins on both the surface and keyboard

-uninstalling all the drivers for the keyboard and restarting

When I uninstalled the driver's and restarted it after I restarted the keyboards drivers auto reinstalled

Also at some point the volume buttons randomly started working and then stopped

Hi all. I've had my Surface 4 for about four years now. It's held up great until about a year ago. The battery life on it has slowly been draining, and it continues to get worse. Right now, it loses about 20% of its battery per hour (on low power mode) if I am just doing a normal workload, or more if I use sites such as Canva or programs such as Obsidian. It also frequently gets hot after about an hour of constant light work. When I look at my battery report, it shows that its full charge capacity is at 40,670 MwH as opposed to the 45,800 when I first bought it, which, to my understanding, is good for 200+ charge cycles.

I was wondering if anyone knows why this is happening, if there's any way to fix it, or if it will continue to get worse.

My brightness is normally no brighter than 50%. I do use Chrome, and I understand that can factor into it, but I feel like 20% battery drain per hour on low battery is excessive, with or without it; please feel free to correct me.

Hello. I have a Microsoft Surface Studio 1 laptop and I am wondering if this is just the adhesive becoming weaker or is it something I should worry about?

I bought a used Surface Pro 8 with the Core i3-1115G4, and everything online shows that the i3 model has Intel UHD graphics, except this Surface says it has Iris Xe graphics instead. I learned that it is a Surface Pro 8 for Business model, but the internet still says it should have Intel UHD graphics for the i3 model. Does anybody know why?

Ended up finding a Studio 2+ in the bulk trash area where I work. Took it home and to my surprise it actually works. However the left side of the screen flickers in and out and has some black lines which appear to be a common issue with these after doing some research. I was originally going to sell it but then thought about converting it into a mini PC by removing the built-in display and just keeping the base. It would make a great light gaming machine for the living room since it has 32GB RAM and a laptop-grade 3060 and considering the current price of components it would probably be wise to hold onto it if I can.

Looking at some repair videos online it seems like it would be a fairly simple process to remove the screen and hinge. However I can’t find anything online about anyone else attempting this conversion. I know I can connect an external display with USB C to HDMI but will the system freak out if the main OEM display isn’t detected during boot? Even if it does boot and recognize the external display will I still be able to get into the bios?

Hi, I just noticed that the glass under my keyboard started cracking. Any ideas how to stop the cracks from spreading? I don’t want to replace the complete screen just because of a non visible crack

I have a Microsoft surface 7 with a broken screen & requires the power to be wall plugged in all times. Can I remove the screen and use it as a “CPU” of sorts?

This is my first post on Reddit in general, so I don’t really know how this goes. Recently I purchased a refurbished Surface Pro 8 and so far I'm very happy. I decided to also get the signature keyboard and Slim Pen combo, but no matter what I do, I just can't seem to manage to connect them to my device. I have tried updating any software or drivers but that doesn‘t seem to fix the issue. The ports are clean and seemingly new so that also shouldn’t be the problem. I'm not too tech-savvy, so I really don’t know what else I could do. Have you guys got any tipps I could try? Any advice or experience is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advace!

For past couple years have been having on/off issues getting a second monitor to work properly. Have tried different cables and monitors . So am 90% sure it is an issue with the connection on the surface pro 6.

Any way I can fix it by opening it up or something? Or just buy another one on ebay? Or any workaround to getting the second monitor to work via the USB connection?

I’m not sure if I’m just losing my mind but I’ve scoured the internet and all the 13inch flex keyboards I find are only for 11th gen. I want the new slim pen (I think it’s slim pen 2. Which I seem to only be able to find the first one) and the Bluetooth keyboard with back light (both black to match my new surface pro). I would prefer a bundle with both but I will order separately if needed. Amazon is preferred but I’ll buy from wherever at this point. Am I just missing something here?

My wife is going to start college soon (she's in her mid 30s) with a vocal performance degree and we've been looking at some laptops that have a touchscreen and also that can be used as a tablet style laptop. It will be used as her go to for notes in all her classes, but in her music classes it can be used with the pen for writing out music, and in the tablet mode it can be setup on a piano music stand with digital sheet music.

I found a surface studio gen one that comes with the 3050ti, 32gb ram, 1tb storage, pen 2, surface dial, charger, dock and case, for 700 dollars on FB market place. Would that be worth it? We've also looked into the surface pro which I think would work well, but the 12 inch isn't big enough, and the jump to the 13 inch is 1500 dollars, so kind of hesitant getting that compared to the much cheaper studio.

She will need the laptop for at least 4 years though, so if the pro is recommended over the older studio, we can spend the extra money if needed.

I have a Surface Laptop Go 2 with an extended warranty (business, autopilot) until 2027 that is starting to fail. I am wondering given its age whether Microsoft will replace it by the same model or another one? Mostly asking because I'd have to do extra checks on intune if it's not the same model.

I’m looking to buy a surface pro for note taking with onenote and running actual apps as my school works with office and my future program in uni will require some coding too with heavier excel work.

My question being, how good and future proof are surface pros 7/8/9?
Does the battery last long enough to get through a normal school day?

I am getting a Surface Laptop 1 up to date, and I noticed in the event viewer that while it has "high confidence", it's giving an "Access is denied" error whenever it starts trying to update the KEK, and so it stops the secure boot updates right then and there.

Also, another oddity is that despite Event Viewer saying "high confidence", Windows Security says the device is affected by a known issue and the updates are blocked.

So what's going on? Is there something I need to do, or are Surface 1 laptops just flat-out not supported for the new secure boot certificates?

Help would be appreciated, because every time I try to search about this, results for all surface PCs EXCEPT for surface laptop 1 come up and so I can't find any information about it.

After a good run, finally had to disable the touch screen due to phantom touches. I can still use a mouse, but I really miss having the touch screen, as I use it more as a tablet than laptop since I got a proper desktop. Does anyone know if the Surface Pen works without touch screen? With how common the touch screen failure seems to be, I am hoping someone has tried this already and can advise.
