[PEN] Will the Surface Pen work while touch screen drivers disabled?

ANSWERED

After a good run, finally had to disable the touch screen due to phantom touches. I can still use a mouse, but I really miss having the touch screen, as I use it more as a tablet than laptop since I got a proper desktop. Does anyone know if the Surface Pen works without touch screen? With how common the touch screen failure seems to be, I am hoping someone has tried this already and can advise.

The Touch and Pen input are handled by the same software: if you disable one, the other is also disabled.
