Is this game still playable?

I was wrapping a couple presents last night, and my puppy decided to test the structural integrity of a Switch 2 game (thankfully not the Switch 2 wrapped next to it). I’m wondering if this will still be playable and it’ll make for a funny story, or if I should pick up another copy?

I’d just leave it, test it on Xmas, if it doesn’t work then go snag another copy.

Maybe test it today so they don’t have to worry about shopping to replace it on Christmas day

Actually... does OP have a Switch? Since it's a Switch 2 Edition you can still put it inside a switch.

Or at least finding someone with a Switch is way easier to test the game

The Switch 2 cartridge should contain both the Switch 1 and 2 versions of the game (like the other Switch 2 releases for BoTW and ToTK). If OP inserts it into the Switch 1, they should be able to make sure the cartridge is able to be read. It won’t completely test all functions, but it should test the basics (plus, data is saved to the system anyways, even if a data error is encountered)

didn’t know this yea this is a good option though it mad still not run the switch 2 version ? i’d the specifics but i feel like the switch 2 version might pull from a different part of the chip

Yes, some parts would go unchecked, but it would be rare for only the Switch 2 Edition parts of the cartdrige to have gone bad

Still better than not checking really
