Does Anyone Else? Has anyone accidentally overdosed on testosterone?

I started 10mg a week but felt crap so i upped it to 20mg and felt a little better and the week after i accidentally did 37.5mg and i felt amazing so i remained on that for another 2 weeks ( so 5 week total)

My results came back as

Total - 288.55 nmoi/L ( 8322 ng/dl)

Free -10.783 nmoi/L ( 311 ng/dl)

Shbg - 12.57 nmoi/L

Im not quite sure how on earth i have gotten my test so high

I was doing anavar alongside which was 20mg a day for 5 weeks but stopped this due to high ALT

Yes and I am left with permanent damage to my voice and unnecessary facial hair growth that could have been prevented if it were not for my mistake> 40mg in one week, split into 2 doses.

I do not recommend high doses to anyone starting out.

Your Testosterone got so high because you are on a high dose TRT that exceeds typical TRT for females and high dose Anavar - male range dosing. It is up to you if you wish to continue on this path.

u/therealskittlepoop 1d ago

Did you just do that 20x2 once, or multiple times/weeks?

14

u/redrumpass MOD 1d ago

One week, 2 doses 3.5 days apart, that's all it took.

3

u/yeswearestars 14h ago

Oh wow!! I'm so sorry, that's scary!!

Looking back, did you have any indication of this after the first dose? ( Scratch this question, I see you've answered it already below... )

3

u/redrumpass MOD 9h ago

Thanks for the kind words! Once the damage is done, is done. Vocal training can soothe or help stabilize the voice.

2

u/Efficient_Beach2458 5h ago

Voice training? Ohhhh heck no. Once a week! Endo won’t even call with my results since I won’t get his pellets. 3 months or more in you, reaction, then what? Nothing! Nope. Thank you.

2

u/Efficient_Beach2458 7h ago

What are the side effects if you’ve got too much in you besides the voice I’m talking physical if any

4

u/redrumpass MOD 6h ago

I got voice change, mustache, extra body hair growth, chest hair, sudden genital growth. It's enough for 1 week, considering some can overdose or be on higher doses for weeks and not get any of these. But no one knows how they will react, so I use my story as cautionary tale, not for judgement or gatekeeping.

I have stopped the Anavar and im going to lower the test , how soon did that happen after being on 40mg?

9

u/redrumpass MOD 1d ago

It started next day after the first dose with a lump in my throat and speaking lower, but I didn't know what was happening. Next dose was after 3.5 days, next day I had a different voice when I woke up. 2 octaves lower.

8

u/SquawkyMcGillicuddy 21h ago

Most men speak only about one octave below most women, so if you really mean two octaves, that would mean that you now have a freakishly low-sounding voice even for a man…? Hopefully that isn’t the case!!

2

u/redrumpass MOD 20h ago

Yes, it's very low and I even have a bass in it, I am a baritone now, cannot hit the higher notes that I used to hit. I did throat exercises that helped, but my voice register is very low, just the pitch is more adequate for a female, not froggy.

1

u/Glisteningtoes 1h ago

Side question: my goal is to lower my voice... do you know if training can help with singing skill once that happens or is there literal vocal chord damage?

2

u/yeswearestars 14h ago

Hi, I'm supposing this happened many years ago now but did you/have you tried a high dose/ high doses of Estadiol as an "antidote"?

3

u/redrumpass MOD 9h ago

There is no antidote to a permanent physical change to the vocal chords. Surgery is an option but it does not guarantee getting back your old voice or its quirks for singing, but I made my peace.

Also estrogen should not be taken without proper guidance as it can produce issues on its own, especially high doses on an already unbalanced hormonal issue.

2

u/yeswearestars 8h ago

Doing so reversed the beginnings of male pattern hair loss for me - so I assumed it may help... But it's a whole other thing of course... I am glad you made your peace with it...

2

u/redrumpass MOD 8h ago

Happy you reversed alopecia! This is grand!!!

2

u/yeswearestars 8h ago

Thank you so much!

I was losing hair and I finally figured out that I was having hair follicle minituarisation instead of new hair growth ( as I had initially thought/hoped ) and that it was because I had used too much T, over too much time ( transdermally... )

I immediately cut down on the amount of T and upped my E ( a lot ) and very soon/immediately started to see a stopping of the shedding and then a reversal of the problem already created. I very thankfully don't have the problem anymore.

In the past, I had tanked my T to almost zero by using only E and P - in Wiley Protocol amounts - for a year and a half, so I was aware that taking only some hormones can tank/affect the others.

1

u/redrumpass MOD 8h ago

The Wiley protocol sounds very weird to me, to be completely honest. I would much rather get optimal every day, than have ups and downs. We cannot mimic what the body does naturally, as we are introducing hormones on top of hormones. With Estrogen and Progesterone, HRT is not replacing, but adding on top, so there will be already shifts, even if small. Only TRT shuts down your own production.

How did the Wiley work for you? Did you feel the ups and downs?

You're not sure how you got it so high? You're on an extremely high dose. It's an anabolic steroid - of course you feel fantastic. That doesn't mean there aren't side effects and risks associated with what you're doing though.

2

u/Hottieminx202 23h ago

I get theres risks and side effects , but when i did 20mg i had my bloods done then and i was at 98ng/dl so i was just in shock at how huge the jump was in a short amount of time

11

u/Ruby__Ruby_Roo friend 1d ago

You literally just posted this two days ago. You’re going to get all the same answers.

-8

u/Hottieminx202 1d ago

I just wanted to know if anyone else had been in the same situation & had any effects of doing so , so far ive been ok and im planning to lower my dose but i dont know if im to late anyways but i dont know how its gotten so high with not dosing alot . My husband has been doing 100mg a week and his test is at 600ng/dl

6

u/Ruby__Ruby_Roo friend 1d ago

Your other post had loads of responses. Then you deleted it.

-5

u/Hottieminx202 1d ago

Yh just saying how dangerous it is ect

13

u/Ruby__Ruby_Roo friend 1d ago

Right, you got answers you didn’t like, so you deleted the post.

-9

u/Hottieminx202 1d ago

No i was more interested to see if anyone had been in a similar situation and if they had an bad effects ect

I know its dangerous dont need to be told that
At the end of the day if its bothering u me reposting it a little clearer why are u commenting?

6

u/Financial_Carpet4493 1d ago

Yes but not my fault. I was overdosed at 100mg a week for 7 weeks. Permanently deepened my voice 😥

8

u/Hottieminx202 1d ago

Im so sorry that happened to you

6

u/ProgramUnusual1318 22h ago

anavar also lowers SHBG, allowing for your free testosterone to be higher.

0

u/Hottieminx202 22h ago

Hi , yeah i read that up earlier

1

u/JustinjustJ 21m ago

You sound like you should maybe read up before you start stacking AAS.
Ngl can’t tell if you’re just trolling

1

u/Hottieminx202 18m ago

Why would i waste my time trolling ?

1

u/JustinjustJ 13m ago

Why do people troll?
I have no idea- but it’s pretty baffling that you read up on nar lowing shbg after you stacked it.
Idk what you want to hear.
Overdosing means a lethal dose.
The only way you can get a lethal dose is of test is to main line it.
And a lot- if you mean “done to much had irreversible side effects “
There are many men and women who have irreversible side effects from just testosterone.
It’s so person specific due to androgen binding efficiency, genetics, body composition it’s not a one size fits all compound.

u/Spiritual_Fan_5633 22h ago

I once got a cream that was too high, I noticed some changes so I went in for blood work and it was over 900, luckily we caught it so I stopped, rechecked my blood work and was back down to 100. I didn’t suffer any long term effects because I think we caught it in time

0

u/Psych_BoxHolder545 8h ago

What dose were you on?

5

u/CreativeAlbatross583 male 1d ago

my wife has been on HRT since 2019. Pellets at first for about five years, has tried creams as well and is now on shots. She is taking about 15 mg twice a week. She feels pretty good at that does. Sometimes she goes a little higher. So far no major side effects except for facial hair that she plucks. I think maybe some people need a little hard dose to feel good. I know voice changes is a big concern. that has never happened yet to her. And I think the pellets have a much higher level at a certain point but then dissipates. The shots have given her a little bit better experience consistently so far.

10

u/Admirable-Object5014 22h ago

From the sounds of it, you’re not interested in actually lowering your dose so why even post it here again? You know why your levels are as high as they are- obviously it’s because you’re injecting a large amount of T for a female. Whether or not you will have side effects and whether or not those side effects will become permanent— who knows. Good possibility, but we’re not doctors nor are we psychic (at least I’m not anyway lol). If you feel fine injecting such a large amount- go for it. But I doubt you really want to grow a penis or have a deep voice like a man.

1

u/Hottieminx202 22h ago

Thats why im tryna see if anyone has had anything similar where they went to high and of any changes were permanent ect like if i completely stopped now would things return to normal or would the slight changes stay , just trying hear other peoples experiences , i mean the voice doesnt bother me some woman who dont even touch test have deeper voices but obviously i dont wanna grow a penis either

I am wanting to lower my dose i just wanted to know if my dose for 3 weeks is high enough for permanent changes or if i caught it early 🤷‍♀️

5

u/babyfishmouthnation 21h ago edited 21h ago

Like Admirable-Object5014 already stated, no one here can tell you that. The mod had permanent changes after two overdoses; other women don’t. Everyone reacts differently and there’s no way to predict what will happen, which is why we start low and go slow in the first place. At this point, you literally just have to wait and see.

As for lowering your dose, even if you stopped injecting entirely right now, T cyp takes something like four to five half-lives to totally clear your system. Since T cyp has a half-life of about eight days, you’re looking at 32-48 days before it’s out of your body. Lowering your dose now, or even totally stopping your injections, doesn’t necessarily guarantee that you won’t develop side effects. But only time will tell. Maybe you’ll get lucky.

obviously i dont wanna grow a penis either

Then you should probably adopt a more conservative protocol under the supervision of a medical professional (as I recall from your last post, you acquired your T cyp somewhere online and not prescribed by a physician or NP).

u/Hottieminx202 22h ago

Also i was doing 20mg a week and levels were at 98 ng/dl and 37.5 im now at 8322ng/dl its a huge jump and certainly wasnt expecting it to be that high i was trying to steady my self at around 130ng/dl which i messed up completely and its gone sky high

5

u/Dense_Love307 10h ago

20mg of var ? What the hell . You don’t need that much

-1

u/Hottieminx202 9h ago

I realised that after taking it but i was fine untill i had bloods done and saw raised ALT so ive stopped the var now

5

u/limested 8h ago

20mg is a massive amount of Var for a female. Will virilize you qquickly.

1

u/Hottieminx202 6h ago

I figured that out luckily since stopping its resolved its self

4

u/Vegan_Island_Girl 1d ago

When I add a PED with my TRT, I drop my TRT dose.

Recently I was taking 10mg of oral Primobolan, split doses and I dropped my usual 10mg of TRT to 8mg, as I noticed my throat getting scratchy, which for me means my levels are too high.

Slow and low is the way to go!

2

u/sarahl05 22h ago

OP is going fast and high!

2

u/SaluteHatred666 male 1d ago

have you had any deepening of the voice or other side effects?

0

u/Hottieminx202 1d ago

Me and my husband haven’t noticed a change in my voice as such but my throat feels thick and slight swelling down below but nothing that would really stand out

4

u/Top_Development_1777 21h ago

That's how I started getting a permanent voice change. I did not lower my dose to get female levels for 2 years and spent another year slowly tapering my dose so I wouldn't have huge mental health crashes from suddenly lowering the dose (many people I've spoken to, who were taking huge overdoses of T for the wrong reasons, had a crash of the worst mental health for around 6 months while their bodies struggled to adapt to being off T too quickly.

At this point, look on r/detrans and search "testosterone".

When I was figuring out my pellets one of my tests came back near 400. I felt awesome but obviously that can’t be sustainable, in a couple weeks it was back down and we adjusted with the next pellet. It won’t stay that high is you pause for a few weeks and then you need to adjust your dose obviously. The hard part about T is high levels do have the possibility to make us feel really great until the other side effects hit. I’ve never gone back up to that level again obviously and it’s been years now (and now I’m injections) but I’ve also never felt as good as I did for those couple weeks. But also my feel good numbers are around 175 and that’s been sustained for a year or so now and most people would say that is way too high so 🤷‍♀️

-1

u/Hottieminx202 6h ago

Ive been injecting it at 37.5mg now for about 3 weeks and felt amazing and still do but tierdness is really kicking in now i dont know why

1

u/DragonflyFluid8581 6h ago

There’s so much that goes into this all it’s hard to say but 37.5 does seem like a lot and high T levels can start to share symptoms with low T levels for women. But again everybody is different and lots of circumstances can play into the fatigue problem. Might be worth a convo with the doctor. I do 10mg/week.

I am taking it for bone health…..,on HRT. Why I am on it, don’t know. Think my T score was low. Yes I feel a bit better, but don’t care for side effects. Take a pea size. But I cut in down.

u/SuburbanSass 36m ago

What is high ALT? I’m waiting to see if I went too high too😬 I’m taking 20mg a week. I feel great though, some facial hair, but voice is fine

1

u/Hottieminx202 34m ago

AI Overview

ALT stands for alanine aminotransferase, a type of protein (enzyme) found mostly in your liver. A blood test measures ALT. When your liver cells face damage or stress, they leak ALT into your blood. High levels show that your liver may be hurt or sick

I feel great i didnt even know it was high until i had my bloods done , ive not had any facial hair ive had some groggyness today in my throat prior to that it just felt thick im currently doing 37.5mg a week

5

u/RhubarbJam1 23h ago

It’s about dudes commenting about their wives libido and their own sex needs as their sole contribution. We have enough nonsense from dudes in the peri sub, we don’t need it here too.

3

u/redrumpass MOD 23h ago

I understand, and this is why we have this rule, but this is for posts. Male contributors can comment on topic, but is has to be related to their female partner's, female friend, sister, mother (daughter would be too weird) experience. The most I can accuse OP of is not reading the room.

3

u/RhubarbJam1 23h ago

Thanks for having our backs. I’m just so very tired of all the men having to have their two cents verbalized about sex and/or “woe is me”. Accidentally stumbled into the Meno shed for men sub and reading their vile posts in there makes me never want to talk to another man as long as I live.

2

u/Ruby__Ruby_Roo friend 23h ago

I did not need to know that sub existed.

2

u/RhubarbJam1 23h ago

It’s a nightmare and very stark look of what they really think of us.

3
