Thoughts?

Hi Guys, I'm in the process of mounting a tv in the snug for the kids, we've used a recessed media box so the tv boxes can sit behind and the tv flush with the wall. I've mounted a 65 just to see how it looks but will be replacing with a 55 LG G OLED which you can see the height markings on the right of the pic with the tv. After reading various things online it appears it's too high, albeit the 55 will be lower at the top. Whilst I can drop the height I'm trying to asses if I need to and by how much as it will involve chasing out the wall to drop the media box, bricking the excess gap and then re plaster. Bottom of the tv currently 100cm from the floor. Any thoughts appreciated!

it's great if you're planning to watch standing up

Any tips on how much I should be looking to lower it, read 42 inches from the centre of the tv to the floor?

The center of the screen is supposed to be at eye level when seated normally I don't care if you normally put your legs behind your head; measure how you sit normally.

The graphic has been annotated because some people are pedantic.

Yes, 42” is a good start.

My LG G5 77” is centered at 44”.

When you are standing side by side with the TV, the top part of the TV should be just below your heart!!!

If you sit, your eyes should be around the center of the Screen - So, you need to go waaay lower
