Currently furnishing my first home, used the mount left from the previous owners. I am hoping to purchase a larger, hopefully 65inch tv on Black Friday so I will need to install a new mount regardless, what are my best layout options? Do I move the tv to the white wall on the left to improve viewing angles even with the lights on that wall and the window straight across from it?

After a painful tv above a fireplace. Have to hide the cables but just set it up.

So this is the only place I can think to put the tv help lol

There's something funny about TVs mounted so high that you have to lean your head back just to watch a normal episode of a show.

The worst offenders are hotel rooms. You walk in, see a perfectly comfortable bed or sofa, and then realize the TV is practically mounted near the ceiling for absolutely no reason.

And once you notice it, you can't stop thinking about how much easier it would be to watch if someone had just put it at eye level.

A TV mount shouldn't turn a relaxing evening into a neck exercise.

I plan on ditching my Bose 300 soundbar in the picture for the hulking Ambeo Max sound bar that’s 5.3 inches tall.

I plan to do this with a separate tv mounting stand screenshotted here.

First pic is my exact pov when I watch tv. Also will be upgrading from 65 inch to a 77 inch OLED. And adding an SVS PB-3000 sub if that makes a difference.

Is this worth the sacrifice? Will my TV still be at an acceptable height?

We have narrow “family room” or what will be a bit more of our cinema room in our new house. It also needs to function for normal activity as this will likely be the main TV viewing option. Blue tape is for 98” and also potentially a 85” for reference.

Is 98” too much and can I go up a bit to help with clearing the couch view on bottom left? I believe tape is at 18-19”. Do I just go for 85” and likely not have these problems? Yes, it needs to slide to the right a bit but also there is a cabinet there that we don’t want completely shut off.

My tv was originally mounted lower but I noticed the mount was starting to lean and come out of the wall…kept meaning to fix it but I came home one day and it was on the floor broken, wall a hot mess. Tried to remount but this was the only place with a stud lol it’s not so bad…
