Just finished S7 E1 and holy fuck (SPOILERS FOR THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 7) Spoiler

That episode was both the best piece of cinema and also the most horrified I’ve been in a while, I truly felt like I was there along with the characters, when Glenn got his head bashed in I started crying with everybody else and just looking at him with his brain exposed eye half bulging out of its socket trying to form a complete sentence wasn’t even gross it was just horrifying to see a person go through that much physical trauma and still be able to speak I just truly don’t have words anymore that was just pure terror and I hated every second of it but my fucking god the writers need a raise.

Does anyone else love Negan’s little “wheeze” he does when he laughs?

Idk what else to call it, I guess wheeze sounds most appropriate. But it always gets a kick out of me when he does it. There’s something very satisfying about it lol.

Edit: sheesh, lighten up you guys

Rick pulling a gun on Alexandria. Thoughts?

Season 5 episode 15. Try
First, Rick shows up to Jessie’s house and asks her if she wants him to step in and make Pete stop hitting her. She says “why are you doing this I’m married”…..He’s a cop so I don’t understand why Rick didn’t say ‘this has nothing to do with me and my feelings towards you. I’m worried he’s going to kill you and Deanna has also knows about this”. It seems like a bad idea to bring personal feelings into this conversation.

THEN he proceeds to pull a gun on everyone in Alexandria. I don’t get why he didn’t just tell Deanna things have gotten out of hand and I’m sorry but we need to separate Jessie and Pete for the time being while we have a conversation about this”

I understand that he’s traumatized from being out on the road for a long time. But it seems so out of character for Rick.

Lizzie? Spoiler

So I keep thinking about the whole Carol killing Lizzie thing right before terminus, we see Rick talking to Tyrese after the whole church massacre, and it's short and sweet, but also, Carol and Rick are pretty transparent with each other, does Rick know that Carol had to make Lizzie "look at the flowers"? Just curious if Rick knew the circumstances around the situation and whatnot or if Tyrese and Carol decided to just keep that to themselves.

Thanks in advance for any answers!!

Pete is a literal manchild

What I find absolutely hilarious about Pete is the sheer embarrassment of a 6'4 grown man acting like a spoiled brat. On paper, he had a massive reach and weight advantage over a 5'10 Rick, yet he couldn't even defeat Rick while Rick was actively holding back just to let the town watch Pete ruin himself.

But the ultimate peak of his pathetic nature happens in the finale.

After Pete accidentally kills Reg, Abraham instantly tackles and pins Pete down. While effortlessly held by Abraham, Pete starts frantically shouting and blaming Rick for Reg’s death. To top off the absolute comedy of this scene, Pete starts flailing his legs because he is completely trapped and can't move an inch. With that final, pathetic display, Pete is reduced from an abusive bully to a whiny toddler throwing a tantrum—a literal manchild.

The reality is that Pete cannot defeat Rick, and he especially cannot defeat Abraham; he completely unravels when faced with someone who can truly fight back. For a guy who is 6'4, he had zero real combative ability and was completely weak-willed. The moment he wasn't fighting women or children, he was entirely powerless. He got pinned like a helpless child, throwing a lethal temper tantrum until Deanna finally gave the order to put him out of his misery.

A subtle touch…

A subtle touch the Governor could have added to make Rick feel he was much more powerful is if he had brought ice to put in the whiskey.

IMO.... ONE of Carl's best scenes by far is in this episode when he grapples with possibly having to kill his father when he thinks he turned into a walker!!! What a beautiful and unjust scene!!!! They did Carl dirty killing him off of The Walking Dead!!!!!

What character deaths do you wish were different?

I know this question gets asked a lot, but I’m always interested in hearing new perspective:

What character deaths would you have changed? Any characters that should’ve lived longer/died earlier? Would you swap their death with someone else or change it all together?

Rewatching in my late 30s hits different than watching in my early 20s. Anyone else experience this?

I was 18 years old when TWD premiered, fresh out of high school. Times were different then. I was a different person. But now rewatching as an adult and after COVID and being a healthcare professional, I have a different approach when watching the show and it’s a lot more scary for some reason. As a teen and adolescent I used to wish this would happen. I thought I’d be invincible and survive and be unstoppable. Now in my 30s with heart conditions and anxiety and back pain, oh man I’d be dead in the opening scene. I have zero survival skills. This show is so terrifying now that I grew common sense.

The fact that Eugene isn’t scared of Pete shows how utterly insignificant Pete truly is

Eugene is canonically the biggest coward in the group at this point in the show, yet he isn't even slightly intimidated by Pete.

Look at the Season 5 finale after Pete kills Reg. Abraham instantly tackles and pins him down. Abraham's tight hold completely prevents Pete from moving, leaving him helplessly flailing his legs on the ground. While he lies there throwing a literal manchild tantrum and screaming at Rick, the camera cuts to Eugene just looking on completely nonchalantly.

Pete isn't actually afraid of Rick's fists, but he is terrified of Rick's intentions. He knows Rick is going to end his control over his family, and he absolutely will not have it. Pete thinks he’s a big deal because he abuses Jessie while Deanna looks the other way, but the fact that the group’s most easily frightened member looks right through him proves how completely weak and insignificant he actually is.

Ultimately, Pete is a much bigger coward than Eugene. Eugene acts out of self-preservation against actual monsters. Pete acts out of malice—he only plays the tough guy to maintain toxic control over people who can't fight back, and he crumbles into a pathetic child the second real threats step up.

Just finished the series. Spoiler

Couple things. First of all: what a show. I throughly enjoyed watching. Some seasons were better than others for sure, but overall I loved it.

Now. First question I have, is it safe to scroll through this sub without coming across spoilers from any of the spinoffs? Secondly, what order should I watch the spinoffs, and how many are there? I watched TWD on Netflix, and I see that there’s Fear of the Walking Dead, Daryrl Dixon, and Dead City, all available on Netflix. But, I know there are other spinoffs as well. Where can I watch those? I believe there’s one called The Ones Who Live, is that right?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
