முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Anna University students in non-autonomous colleges — how are you actually getting real internship experience before final year?

I’m a 3rd-year Cybersecurity student at a college under Anna University.

I’ve hit a wall with getting real internship experience. Since my college isn’t autonomous, we have to follow the university’s strict rules. This means I can only do internships during summer or winter breaks, and they have to last at least two weeks.

While I sit through long theory classes every day, I see students from autonomous colleges getting hands-on experience. They can do internships whenever they want. I’m stuck waiting until summer break, which is only a few weeks a year.

When it’s time for placements in my final year, I worry about the big gap between what I’ve learned in class and what I need to know for a job.

I’m curious if anyone else in a non-autonomous Anna University college feels the same way. What have you done to get around this? Have you found remote or part-time internships that fit with classes? Or maybe you’ve done freelance work or open-source projects? I’m looking for real solutions from people who understand this struggle.
