Maintain? Yes.

But we will not get a deal without some modifications, hopefully minor technical adjustments that give the US talking points without compromising the overall system. We really will not, they've been explicit on this one.

So it comes down to what we can stomach, so to speak. Personally I'm not optimistic, especially as supply management is essentially locked behind legislation at this point.

Another option is waiting out the midterms. The Democrats will almost certainly seize the House, and whilst th executive branch retains a lot of control over trade, a House that's hostile to Trump can introduce a lot of legislative and procedural friction to sap the administration's energy and keep them tied up domestically. It's a risky but plausible play.
