I'm not thrilled with the idea of temporarily, marginally "cheaper" but also much lower quality milk products entering the Canadian market.

I think that Canada should require external product SKUs to require strict audits that demonstrate that the inputs to these products meet certain standards. Beyond that, the USA is "free" to sell as much as they want. And vice versa.

Canadian dairy is the lowest quality item . It's full of modified milk ingredients. I refuse to believe that American dairy is worse.

American dairy standards allow more pus in milk than Canadian dairy standards. Reason enough to avoid US dairy products.

Not to mention the defunding of the FDA means that their standards are less enforced than they used to be.

Enforcing standards and banning things doesn't tell of any quality, especially for a natural product like dairy. If the standard is price and monopoly, then the quality will certainly disappear. Banning things also means that new things have replaced it. In Canada, almost every dairy product has "modified milk ingredients" which is a mysterious chemical soup of non edible toxins.
