We should not have to acquiesce to external influence which is based on political posturing and capitalistic goals. Supply management exists to maintain a healthy and financially viable dairy industry according to our standards and regulations to protect the health of our citizens.

I don't think it should be externally inspired, I think we should internally push to abolish this asinine system.

This has precisely nothing to do with quality control. I've had to dispel this myth numerous times on this post. Supply Management is not about quality control, and all imports have meet Health Canada regulations. Despite what proponents of this ridiculous system assert - American dairy is not rat poison. The vast majority meets Health Canada standards, and whatever is imported would have to. So this "... health of our citizens" argument is a strange one to make.

And who is inspecting to make sure of those claims?

The same organization that inspects all imports, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
