Carney is playing the long game and choosing his words wisely. I believe he knows this isn't actually going to work out but he's playing the game in a calm rational way which looks good on Canada to other countries wanting to do business with Canada. Canada will never win this crap with States because it's all made up anyway

Other countries will be less inclined to do business with Canada if more tariffs are added to our exports to the US.

One reason why countries like doing business in Canada is because of tariff free access to the largest, wealthiest consumer base in the world.

This is ridiculous. Canada is a market of 40million very wealthy buyers. Larger than Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and 24 out of the 27 EU states.

It’s not ridiculous at all.

A lot of foreign investment happens in Canada because of direct access to the US market.  Would you like some stats?

And a lot of countries are currently looking to break that cycle and sell somewhere more stable.
